WTVOC!

Saturday April 23, 2011 at 8:57 PM

My, my, my. She's growing like a weed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WTVOC!!!

Kris. How ironic that the snarkiest person I know is also the most sincere.

I've never known anyone as honest, fair, caring and genuine as you.

Or as freakishly smart.

you are pretty much my gandhi/sister/life partner

There's just a ton more to say but you already know it, so i'll just leave it, leave it!

Thank you for all of it, I love you madly.

Stop in and wish WTVOC aka KRISTEN aka OBNOXIOUS PURPLE FONT

a happy birthday, like this:

Happy Birthday, Kristen. My wish for you this year is _________.

or just say happy birthday and give gifts she will enjoy.

I'm baaaa-aaack!

Saturday April 23, 2011 at 7:47 PM

I'm back from my WFE vacation with fellow Foresters DeeLovely and Bunnyslippersrok. OMG we had THE BEST time, and while I'm happy to see my kids again, I am not happy to have left beautiful, sunny, warm Las Vegas for chilly rainy Louisville. There may have been some tearing up as I walked off the plane this afternoon.

Luckily, Rob is always there to make me feel better- I found new outtakes of the hottest fake veterinarian around to cheer me and Dee up. If you're blue and down in the dumps, then come inside and enjoy- perhaps they will lift your spirits as well!

Thanks to setje for posting these, as always.

Wicked Weather

Saturday April 23, 2011 at 9:39 AM

Yesterday evening the weather was sunny and clear.  I set off to go to a nearby town to see Water for Elephants.  About an hour into the movie, tornado sirens were going off and everyone was evacuated into central hallways, storage closets, and the bathrooms.  (That's a WHOLE lot of people.  It's a big theatre complex!)  We stayed there in the "safe zone" for 45 minutes.

After seeing pictures of the damage that occured only 30 minutes away from us... I wonder how "safe" we really were.

Photobucket

A tornado from the same storm touched down briefly about two miles from the movie theatre.  I guess we just got really damn lucky.

My heart goes out to all of the people in the St. Louis area who are dealing with storm damage today.  I hope all of our campers are safe.

How do YOU deal with storms?  Do you have a "safety plan" for your family?  Any close calls in your neighborhood???

(And if you're the praying type, please join me in sending up prayers for so many families who have lost their homes and have had their lives altered by the horrible weather.  Blessings to you all!)

Don't Blame Rob

Saturday April 23, 2011 at 9:19 AM

Yes WFE was missing something but It was not his performance that was lacking.  It was the fact that the entire movie seemed to be based on how perdy he is.    I think Rob did a GREAT JOB!  But come Inside and see if you agree with this assessment  of where the blame lies if you have seen the movie already--especially if you have read the book!

                          * acting-     A

                          * directing  B-

What the (bleep) do critics know?

Saturday April 23, 2011 at 8:51 AM

After yesterday's campfire about the critics' negative opinions on WFE and RPattz, I thought I'd just bring up the encouraging fact that while Rotten Tomatoes' final tally is "53% Rotten," the audience response to the film at the same website is 93% "Liked."

And over at Yahoo movies, the overall critics' grade is "B-" (not as bad as I was expecting, actually) but the USER grade is A-

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810161083/user

This is so typical of how out-of-touch with audiences critics can be.  I was a film school major at CSUN and worked in "The Industry" on and off in the 80's and 90's, and as interesting as film theory and criticism can be, it does tend to skew (and sometimes completely destroy) the enjoyment of movies as entertainment.

To make this interactive, what movie did you absolutely LOVE that the critics absolutely trashed?  Twilight doesn't count.  :p  My answer is in the comments.

ETA:  Okay, Twilight counts.  It's worth discussing.  :)

Looking for a fic

Friday April 22, 2011 at 10:12 PM

So I read this fic- I think it was a one shot for a contest- and now I can't seem to remember where it is. And was hoping someone could help me out.  It was about Edward as a delivery boy for a farm that Bella runs.  They flirt over vegetables.  Anyone remember this one?

And any other fics where the couple meets  over vegetables will be accepted.  I know there is an Emmett/Bella one where they meet over an eggplant in the grocery store too.

Impending Doom...err...Crossovers

Friday April 22, 2011 at 7:56 PM

So...Crossovers seem to have become more popular lately.  Maybe this is due to boredom, or just a curious need to join two fandoms that you love...

Whatever the case, Punkfarie and I are considering hosting a contest for Crossovers.  We realize that similar contests haven't done very well in the past, but as I pointed out above, Crossovers seem to have become more popular, so maybe this time things will be different.

What our question for you is...

What do you think? Is this a good idea? Would you enter?

planetblue

What would you do?

Friday April 22, 2011 at 7:27 PM

So an opportunity is about to present itself to me, money to start my own business.

I have a job, one i'm always looking to get out of cause I hate my commute and working for someone else.

If you could start any business, what would it be?

Storefront? Out of your house?

My first thought is a yarn store, cause really, what headaches would you have there? OH I RAN OUT OF RED!  Kidding....

Candle store? Ice cream store? Wedding planning? Gift baskets?

MOTU I, II, & III?

Friday April 22, 2011 at 5:25 PM

Ok, so I just finished reading the last  chapter  of Master of the Universe  II, and was wondering is that it? I  feel like there are to many open ends for Icy to be completely done, or fit into an epilogue. So is there going to be a third, and if there is, is it going to  be written as a fanfic  or straight to publishing?

Happy Good Friday to all you beautiful ladies out there.

THIS IS WEEK 4/40

So how you doing so far?  Still holding strong?  If not whats holding you back?

This week we are focusing on music.  I know sometimes working out can seem like a drag, so I want you to show us what kind of music you enjoy jamming out to while moving and grooving.

HOMEWORK:  Next week find an article that you find interesting.  It can be anything as far as body, weight, working out, food related.  Doesn't matter what its about just something you find neat/odd about the article.

We also started a Live Journal Community for support for the week.

Show me your skivvies.

Friday April 22, 2011 at 2:32 PM

I'm bored.

And I'm in a really shallow mood today.

And I want to know what you're wearing.

Sweats?

Business Suit?

Party dress for the Easter Weekend celebrations?

I'm wearing this bra right now. And my boobs look fantastic. Better than hers -- serious.

                MUSIC POST

Let's talk about music, friends. All sorts, whatever you are into.

Rec us all some good songs. Tell me the last album you bought. What concerts you've seen and suggest others should catch?

Who do you have as a poster on your wall? (I have a Bob Marley flag above the head of my bed. js)

What song is stuck in your head?

Got a music question? Ask away.
