do you write for another fandom?

look, this website started off as twilight-related. 

but we want to expand! that's part of what the "new" ADF is about.

the rules for posting in the forest are that you have at least ONE completed story somewhere on the internet. why? so we know that you've finished something. that's always been a criterion of posting here, even back in the good ole days of VIP authors. oh, and no bestiality and pedophilia (you can check the rules for a more in-depth discussion on posting here). apply to post fanfiction here on ADF, i'll be approving applications all day!

anyway, i'd love to see other fandom fanfictions here. i posted one of my bones oneshots here last year because it was ~supernatural, but idk, i think i should post the rest of them. and i'm totally posting my pride & prejudice one here when i'm done!

now, here's a question- would you enter a "not twilight" fanfiction contest? i hope you've noticed that ADF contests don't give you a banner and kudos. ADF gives you cold hard cash money bucks in the form of giftcards.

so okay. when it comes to fandoms, are you more prone to canon pairings? do you like killing people off like our ranger LJ summers? or are you more canonical? i've noticed i like my twilight all-human, but i need pride & prejudice to be set in the regency period, and darcy ONLY belongs with either elizabeth or myself. omg i once read darcy/lydia and i almost wept for jane austen's grave-spinning.

A few months ago I stayed up until 5am reading this fantastic fic. I remembered that the author mentioned a sequel and went to find it, but of course I forgot the author and title name.

Here's a rough summary. Edward and Alice are siblings. Alice has the gift of sight, as did her mother Esme. There are other hyper talented humans who are being harvested for their talents. Esme is murdered by the organization seeking to capture these talented humans. Esme never told Alice about her ability. She left instructions for her kids in her jacket.

When Alice and Edward come home to find her dead, Edward finds her letter. He and Alice.go on the run. Bella is the organizations most prized talent. Bella has visions and can amplify the emotions. Her visions can be projected. When other people watch they are effected by the strength of emotion she projects.

Caius and Aro run the organization that is.harvesting these humans. This organization has created a drug that weakens and brainwashes their subjects. The drug leeches color from the subjects hair, skin and eyes. Caius is sick. He enjoys inflicting pain and he has an unhealthy obsession with Bella. He has her transferred to his facility.

There Marcus becomes her guardian. They plan to break out and escape. They are successful and happen upon a large camp of nomads. Where they meet Alice and Edward. I could go on and on about this fic. What I gave you was only about a quarter of the story. It was so original and fantastical and well written. If only I could find it! Someone help me please?

Has anyone tried to reread the books after reading ff? I haven't read them in over two years, but now I keep listening to the audiobook during the long drive to work. I really, really don't mean to sound disrespectful to SM, because I feel I owe that woman a lot (really), but I do keep facepalming myself. While driving. Worst part of it is my husband listened to it too and now I'll never see the end of it :(

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern comes out today. I've read the first 10 pages on it's website and it reminds me of The Vampire's Apprentice, which I enjoyed. Has anyone else heard of this book? Summit has already picked up the movie rights for it, so sorry to say that transferring to the screen doesn't look promising. What do you think of a book being heralded so quickly, especially a first time author?

The Eleventh Plague is also coming out today and is recommended by Susan Collins, The Hunger Games. Looks like a good day to be a reader.

greatest idea ever, or GREATEST IDEA EVER

So, I just started watching True Blood about a month ago and went about the seasons completely wonkie. I watched the fourth season than the first and am currently switching between the second and the third. The fact that I started with the fourth season, think that tall men are awesome (being 5"11 provides for a certain lack of truly tall men) and am a Norwegian and therefore like the whole Viking Swede thing, I like Eric and Sookie best. I have never read any True Blood fanfiction and my attempt at fic diving produced wholly inadequate results which is why I type before you today, pleading. Will someone recommend me some seriously awesome Eric Sookie fics that stay true to either the book or TV series. 

P.S. I didn't get much sleep last night because yesterday my dog thought that it would be good to eat a rabbit carcass and forced us to pay for it last night, so I would like to apologies for my possibly horrible attempt at English.

This sincerely broke my heart. I cried a bit. If you know anything about me, it's that Spartacus is my favorite show. I pimp it like it's going out of style (even the tumblr link on my profile isn't to me but to f*yeahspartacus). And 18 months ago, I was completely saddened by the news that they were postponing season 2 because Andy Whitfield, who played the lead role of Spartacus, was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins. This took a lot out of him and wasn't cleared for season 2, instead the producers/company decided to use season 2 as a prequel to season 1, and give time for Andy to recover and get cleared. Things were looking up for a while until he relapsed. And it was decided that they would need to recast Spartacus or cancel the show altogether. Recent sources (two months prior) reported a happy and healthy Andy Whitfield, and that's why yesterday's news is such a shock to everyone. (source)

I LOVED him and his portrayal of the character of Spartacus. It won't ever be the same without him. He was 39 and the peak of physical fitness, it's just goes to show how indiscriminate cancer really is. He leaves behind a wife and two young children, who it was said he was an amazing father to. 

So anyway, this is my little tribute to the amazing actor. And if you haven't seen Spartacus, what are you waiting for?!?! I sincerely can't think of any show better. EVER. Please leave some love, if you're so inclined, or gifs or thoughts about the show, or anything you'd like to talk about. Thanks.

Edward knocks on her door wanting to know where Emmett is b/c he's been sleeping with his girlfriend Rosalie. Bella tells him he's not there and he can help her destroy his things. They have sex on her and Emmett's bed. They destroy the Aston martin and then have sex on it. Emmett walks in while they are doing it with Rose right behind him.
