A beta reader functions like an editor. They read your work before anyone else does and correct spelling and grammar mistakes. A good beta reader also will correct any cannon mistakes you've made, point out plot holes, and generally give you constructive feedback on the structure of your story, helping you to find the best way to tell the story. However, not all beta readers are comfortable doing that. Some will only correct technical mistakes.

Twilight Classic  FYT

hey ladies! its fairly late, I'm fairly drunk and I haven't been on here in about 6 months, probably longer.

and I haven't read a fic in even longer!

but I'm interesting in a good May to December, Edward the broody, confident older man kinda thing :)

I know there was a campfire about this before and I came across The University Of Edward Masen which has been on my to read list for YONKS but I never got a around to reading it, now its disappeared! so I was wondering if any of you fine ladies would know where I could find it or if not any good may to December fics you would recommend that are sought of similar :)

If you are an author you might recognize me as the one pestering you with the request of recapping. I mean, if you don’t update frequently and more than, say, every two weeks, elapsed from your last update, then the reader might have a problem reconnecting with the story. In fact. when I read apologies for the slow updating I would scream “ don’t apologize, you are a volunteer and you have the right to be slow. Add a recap, instead!

I just don’t get it. Is it because authors think that their story is the only one being read? It would be a very wrong (and arrogant) assumption. I think that there are about 50 stories or more, between ff net and Twilighted that I am happily (or unhappily) following. And memory is what it is. If one has forgotten - but for a general idea about the plot - what went on in the last chapters, one could be so discouraged  as to let the story go. I have done it – albeit, if I had favorited the story there must have been a reason.
When I ask for recaps some authors are very pissed off. Either they don’t bother to answer, or they tell me to go back and re-read (Not always possible with very long stories, albeit I have done it, so desperate I was), or they suggest that I wait for the story to end. Not very friendly on their part, I would say.

Some of them told me it was a good idea and now they are recapping. I LOVE YOU, DEARS. It so helps to enjoy a story.
Personally, I update with a weekly frequency, minimum. Otherwise, of course I would recap. Why so many others don’t? And you, campers, do you all have a stellar memory, even if you are following a big number of stories?

okay so the purpose of this campfire....

these movies are (basically) about two people that meet one day and just *sigh* connnect and fall in love...

and i really wish there was a good f-ing fanfic story that was like this and so i have a two part question:

1. do any of you know of a story like this?

2. what movie would you love to see made into a fic but with a twilight-y twist?

i dont think anyone could replicate the perfection of these movies but i would love to read an attempt.

Ranger Edit- Just Got Mine!

Taking advantage of FFFA, I wanted to discuss last night's Season Finale of Grey's Anatomy.  You can always count on this show to end it's season with a bang (pardon the pun) and last night was no different albeit it wasn't as in your face as last year's finale but it's still as controversial.

For the sake of those who haven't seen it, I will keep my thoughts inside.  Be forewarned, there will be spoilers.

(I know that it's a hot button issue so let's try and keep it friendly.)

Thanks to some nasty virus, I lost all stories I had on my TBR list (saved tabs) but at least my laptop works again. So, I really hope that some of you campers have some great recs for me :) I'm a strict E&B- girl& if it's complete, HEA definitely prefered! I've mostly read AH, but recently finished "And with thee fade away"& "In Vain", so AU is welcome, too! I like me some cocky, snarky& definitely confident Edward (like in Wtfa or Diva Diaries), but am open to all kinds of suggestions, as long as it's canon.

Ok, so lately I've been having a pretty rough time.  A couple of days after my birthday back in February, my mother had a heart attack and emergency triple bypass surgery.  While recovering from that, she ended up having to have a nephrostomy (a tube put into her kidney through her back) because of a kidney stone that had her blocked.  They can't remove the stone until she can have carotid artery surgery (which she can't have until she's fully recovered from the heart surgery)  Meanwhile, while Mom's having surgery...it's my last week at my job.  Boss sold the company out from under us in December and my job ended February 28.  Needless to say, in the 3 months that have elapsed, I've sent out around 100 resumes and not had a single interview.  

Do ya think I'm bummed?  Because, well, I'm bummed all right.  There's not much to smile about in my little corner of the world right now.

Yesterday, we actually got out of the house for a little while and had lunch at the local diner.  While I was in the bathroom~because these moments always happen in the bathroom~this came on the muzak...

(btw, Rangers, I'm posting this under the assumption that it's FFA, so if it isn't...apologies 

I hope it still is FFFA, because I really need help.

I've been looking for fics where Bella is with any of the wolves EXCEPT jacob. I love Jacob, I really do, but I can't seem to get into Jacob/Bella fics cause I see them more as BFFs or brother sistery. So please help me out and rec your favorite Bella/Wolf fics!

I am in such a good mood today! 

I only have one exam left + my placement tasks to write up and then that's me done for my second year of university! It's sunny and today I'm going home for the weekend early!! My mam's shopping the sales and's buying me bikinis and summer dresses, this is seriously a good day.
