I'm looking for new fanfic to read and waffling between choices so I'm starting this campfire looking for your opinion. I'm a huge fan of historical fanfics, ones that are well-researched and historically accurate/appropriate. Anachronistic problems tend to annoy me (a pet peeve of mine, I suppose). Some of my fav fanfics under the historical genre are:

has anyone got ms kathy's The trip home in PDF. It's an amazing fic, never thought I'd be into the whole poly angle but it definatley opened my eyes.

i havent started a campfire in so long i almost forgot how.

so here's the deal... i have a few requests--

1. my inbox is sadly empty.  all of the wip fics i'd been reading have completed, i need something new.  but i'm so outta the loop idk what's good.  is there a hot new fic?  what's updating REGULARLY that you drop everything to read?

2. i creep around the forest still but i see a lot of new names, idk who you are.  introduce yourself.  tell me something about you.  where are you from, how old you are, what color socks are you wearing, i dont know.  how do you take your eggs?

3. old timers-- tell me what you've been up to.  i miss you guys.  some of you i know are creeping around like me, so come outta the bushes and say hi.

4. bobby long.  'nuff said.

Are you a love 'em and leave 'em type?  Do you get bored and easily distracted once our hero and heroine get together?  Do you know of good stories that get to the point and don't overstay their welcome?  Come on in and recc your favorite short stories.

For the purpose of this campfire, let's define a short story as one that is more than a one-shot (since we already have a one-shot fic list) but 30,000 words or less.  We'll do another campfire for mid-length stories of 30,000 to 80,000 words.

Is there anyone here reading Beautiful savage by readingmama. I having troubles with it and i really hate flouncing stories i hardly ever do but i think my problem is i have no one to talk with it about iso that might help out a little.

Is there anyone else out there that's reading a story and it's driving them crazy and they can't find anyone whose reading it too to talk it out with come in maybe you find someone too

I've been around for a while now. I think I've read every possible story/twist there is. Stories that I thought were good are not anymore. My standard for quality writing has gone up the roof. I hate smut (though I used to love it) 

 There are many I've seen come and go. I've changed my name a couple of times. I've thought about retiring a couple of times. How about you? How long have you been reading fanfiction? Are you planning on leaving/staying? Has the number of fics you read decreased like mine? I'm only reading 4 at most. Am I a total snub? Go ahead you can say it. Are you getting tired or just started.

Soooo....I'm working on some original fiction even though I should be focused on very late fic updates right now. This idea just wouldn't go away, and since I'm going to be the next big thing in YA dystopian series (*snicker*, yeah, I know), I'm trying to purge at least a chapter from my mind so I can move on with my life.

The main boy, as in the BOY, is dark-haired and well-built (of course he is), and he leads a sort of double life. He's quiet but fierce, very intelligent, and stealthy. He can go completely unnoticed, but has enough unique qualities to catch the girl's eye, because it wouldn't be good for the plot if he didn't.

My issue is this: his name is escaping me. My original characters are usually born in my head with a name attached, and that's that. Unchangeable. It happened with the girl, but the boy has had a double name that switches back and forth constantly.

So, do you think that Henry or Arthur could end up fitting a really hot, sneaky, genius guy? Yes, neither name immediately calls to mind sexytimes (although...Henry Cavill anyone?), but I want it to be old-fashioned and sort of "quiet." If that makes any sense at all.

I don't want to give anything else away since I might just turn this plot into a fic at some point, but what do you think?

I am looking for fics like Elemental, I read one awhile back but forgot what it was. Anyone know this fic?

it basically starts with edward and rosalie missing bella and emmett who moved out of their house. they all live on the same street and are all witches, i think. edward is dating tanya but hates it. they reunited on the beach or something like that. the town is basically ran by the cullens, hales and swans. they have a long ancestry and james was a crazy stalker back where emmett and bella moved from phoenix. apparently where i left off, a dagger was on edward's door from the dagger bella was missing given to her by jasper.

Anyone know this fic?

Excited About A Love Scene

BlindGossip – Actors usually don’t have a problem staying in control during love scenes. Since romance is blocked and rehearsed and shot under the hot lights and in front of a large crew, even the most intimate scenes are usually little more than a carefully choreographed, technical exercise.

However, on the set of this one period film, things got a little out of control. During a kissing scene between a handsome, foreign-born actor and a sexy American actress, the actress suddenly stopped and backed away a few paces from her co-star. The actor was left standing there alone. Well, he wasn’t exactly alone. He was accompanied by the incredible bulge in his pants. Filming had to be halted for several minutes while the actor cooled off.
