Hi All...  I was listening to the radio the other day at work and the DJ was talking about RPattz.  Apparently Rob is going to take a break from movie making to concentrate on his music career and is spending time in a recording studio.

It's been a wild week in the forest. We couldn't be more pleased if we were peas.

do we like this so damn much?? I'm talking about canon, inspired by the 'what women want', "'fan'fiction" and the 'revisiting canon' cfs. The comments made on the latter cf clearly showed even us Twihards are facepalming ourselves whenever we reread the books/watch the movies. And yet here we are, three years later (some of you even more) fangirling like tweens over the trailer (and the teaser of the trailer, and the teaser of the teaser of the trailer etc.)

I immersed myself into the fandom right after I read the movie's summary. I always had a thing for vampires, so a vampire in love blew my mind. I'll always be grateful fo SM because her work helped me escape rl for a while, and at a time that I needed it the most. I could see that it wasn't top material, and yet I couldn't put the books down, had to rewatch the movies, kept thinking about the characters, and omg could it be that all those 'Edward looked more like an Adonis than anyone the right to" and his 'perfect golden butterscotch topaz eyes' that make me cringe now that I reread it are actually what made me lose my mind over it in the first place? Could it be that Hollywood is so male-dominated/oriented that female audiences were just starving for something that would truly appeal to them (clue: not dramas/JenAn romcoms)? And what is it about it exactly that appeals to us so much we're creaming ourselves (Pattinson, 2009)

The Godfather Part II is among the most artistically successful film sequels in movie history, but usually movie sequels are a disappointment. I have had the similar experience regarding fanfic sequels, they have been OK but a bit of a let down compared to the original story.

1. Have you read any really good fanfic sequels?

2. Why do you think it is so difficult to write a sequel that is as good (or better) than the first story? Is it because it is difficult to follow up a HEA ending and make the story interesting again?

3. Which fanfic would you love to read a sequel to?

Hi everyone. My name is BoubieD. This is my first campfire and I'm just gonna come right out of the box and say that I am a "say it like I mean it" kind of girl. As a new member, I'm really excited to know what you guys think of what I call (fan)fiction. 

This has probably has been going on since the beginning of fanfiction, and I might be the only one who gets irked by it, which is another reason why I'm posting here. I want to find out if I'm just annoyed over something that isn't that big a deal.

Most fanfiction readers over the last few months have been balking at the utter shameful practice of plagiarism. That is obviously wrong on all fronts and I just never understood the reasoning behind that. Attention? Notoriety? Really? It's pathetic. But that's not what (fan)fiction is. That's not my main gripe.

(Fan)fiction is when an author takes her original fiction and decides to use Twilight characters specifically to gain an audience. 

This has become my biggest pet peeve. It irks me to no end, particularly for BNAs who have a built-in, very loyal audience. And when the characters are completely OOC, I feel cheated. Why write about a blond Bella who's a southern belle in 1856 or an Edward who's the fanfiction version of James Franco's character in "Pineapple Express"? Why don't you write fanfiction for "Pineapple Express" instead? Because you think no one will read it if you do? No one will review it? People won't be able to wrap their brains around a piece of fiction that doesn't feature characters no one really knows?

Now, I don't mind when Twilight characters are OOC. Maybe Edward became a pothead after his bad break up with Bella? I don't know. But performing plastic surgery on your own fiction so that it "looks" like Twilight but literally has NO basic elements related to Stephenie Meyers's saga is as fraudulent as plagiarism. 

It's all about intent with me. If your creative process was borne out of a place where you asked, "What would it be like if Edward Cullen was a porn star?" That would be cool with me. But if you watched "Hung," wrote a complete story, then thought Twilight would be an awesome place where you could get a huge following because you need reviews like a fat kid needs cake, then SO NOT COOL, brah! SMDH.

And even more importantly, if you have an amazing piece of fiction that's original, well-written, thought-provoking, and DIFFERENT, AND you have a loyal fan base, write your own ish. DO IT! Why not? You have nothing to lose but a few reviews. 

I just wish more authors were more ballsy. More women were out there saying their work was actually really good and everyone should read it. This humility and modesty is not cool, not in this age. We are strong, intelligent women. Hiding behind Edward Cullen and Bella Swan is so 18th Century of us. We might as well pose as men.

Now, I ask, does this only bother me? If so, then darn it LOL. Whatever the case is, I would like to know your thoughts.

I think we have a weekly pimp-fire, and I'm sure I've missed it because I don't normally pimp fics, but this one needed to be pimped!!  (and I hope, in missing the pimp-fire, I'm not stepping on any pimp toes in pimping this little ditty pimp, pimp, pimp, lol ;)

Are you reading Six Weeks by Syrrah?  Well, If you aren't you should be, but that's not what I'm here about.  Syrrah is also writing another fic called Baby You Can Drive My Car.  She has only 250+ reviews for 26 chapters and imo, that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too low! 

BYCDMC is about Bandella and Tour ManagerWard.  She is snarky and silly and spiteful and immature and sweet and sexy and smart and everything else.  And he is type A all the way.  He is super organized, runs a tight ship, ever diligent about the band and their goings on.  It is a slow burn, which I don't normally like, but it is completely working! 

I am kind of a fic snob, that sounds terrible, but it's true.  I need good grammar, proper spelling and use, plot and a point.  This has it all, Syrrah is an extremely intelligent author and I emplore you all to give her fic a chance...and a review or two :)  This fic also has the best Lauren I've ever read...I want to be friends with her and Bella!!
