Two Campfires in a row but I wanted to let my fellow Hunger Games fans know there is a beautiful song by Taylor  Swift and Civil Wars called Safe and Sound. Those who have read the books know this is what Katniss sang to Rue when she died. It's a beautiful song which I found on itunes.

As a rec I'd have to go with one of my fav writers, BadJuJuBe's Persephone, a funny 4 chapter read that is overshadow by her more popular The Red Eye. Sorry, I'm terrible at these copy/paste/etc.

I was just reading the news and it seems Christchurch, New Zealand has been hit with a series of earthquakes almost as big as the one that occured earlier this year. I know that we have some readers in New Zealand and hope that you and your families are okay. okay, for some of us- it's officially the last minute.

i wrapped the last gift last night. i felt so accomplished. it took me:

-16 hours of my time spread out over about 5 days (i'm rather serious about the trimmings and the trappings)

-8 rolls of paper

-9 rolls of ribbon

-12 tabs of tape (i use one of those hand-held tape dispenser things. mock all you want, if you get one, you will never be the same again)

-15 old episodes of bones

did my food shopping yesterday, forgot something, have to go back to costco today D: D: D:

but other than that, i am done. i think i'll refill the cookie coffers today.

and we're making gingerbread houses (from kits, i don't bake gingerbread because i can't stand it) today.

Bella's parents are killed by James while Bella and her nephew escape and end up at Alice's. Vicky is Renee's sister and the mother of the boy. She's a druggie.

Edward is a police officer and he takes Bella and the boy into hiding. Emmett is his partner, I think? Rose finds them and helps them too.

I can't even remember if it was completed...

I think the story you are looking for is Pretend He is Not There by SunKing, who no longer writes FF. I don't believe the story was ever completed, but I would have liked to know how it ended.

As- as the holidays approach at the speed of sound, tell me about your favorite traditions from childhood. It can be anything related to whatever you celebrate (i.e. Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Druid Pagan etc...etc...)

For me, other than baking the brownies to leave out for Santa, my favorite Christmas tradition was the Angel Chimes.

When the candles are lit, the heat forces the middle piece to turn and the Angels hit the bells making a chime. My mom found them for me when I moved out of the house.

Even though DH and I don't really celebrate the holidays the way everyone else does (no tree, no religion at all) the chimes still come out.

Share away and maybe we'll all pick up a new tradition or two-

Do you ever read a fic, finish it and then ask yourself, "Why didn't I favorite that?"  Well, apparently I do this all the time...  Sooo, here's what I'm looking for and if you can help I would realllly appreciate it!

Edward is an assassin and I believe he works for the Volturi.

Bella's parents were killed in a car accident (that turns out to have been a set up)

Edward is assigned to kill Bella (but can't of course)

James is a bad dude and eventually kidnaps Bella and takes her (I think) to an aquarium where he carves some word on her stomach

Her apartment burns down (?)

James also might be Edward's (or Em's or Jasper's roommate)

I also believe I remember Edward walking her home from the library because to keep her safe...

Any help at all would be really appreciated!
