So I have been reading a great, heart wrenching story....OPEN UP NEXT TO YOU by LJ Summers. It is awesome but I am now heartbroken and I realize I ACTUALLY WANT MORE OF THIS HURTS SO GOOD. (only a Edward/Bella HEA) my heart needs to heal after chapter 6.

I am looking for stories where Edward is with someone else, kinda ok or happy, and then Bam it is Bella who has his heart. Or maybe he was with Bella, finds happiness then BAM Bella is back and he has to struggle to pick her.

I have NO Edward with others, but a ton of Bella with others. Boy that sure makes me want to psychoanalyze myself!

I would love some VAMPIRE stories or AH, as long as it fits the description.

My rec is fluffy and happy because my rear can take no more calories after the angsty eating from reading todays OPEN UP NEXT TO YOU reading! If your not reading this you are missing some great writing.

Chapter 46: The Diver

woah. Totally didn't expect that. 

I distinctly remember the first time I read it. It was in EZRocksAngel’s classic fic, Creature of Habit, which by the way, I love and would whole heartedly recommend.

MINE.

And when I read it, my little heart swooned just a bit. But I was conflicted. Because I knew that I shouldn’t find male possessiveness attractive and yet there I was, being seduced by Edward’s toddler mentality.

It was so alluring, so enticing. The thought that Edward loved Bella so much that she actually belonged to him in some mystical way.

And I’ve read it in so many stories since that it would be nearly impossible to count. While I can’t deny that my traitorous heart still thrills just a little bit when I read it, I still feel guilty each time I find satisfaction in it.

I’m not at all trying to disparage authors from using this. It is especially appropriate in vampire AU’s where possessiveness is a fairly accepted trait. I just find it to be an interesting concept: that though we know it is unhealthy, we still find it seductive.

I’ve never had an overbearing or insanely jealous boyfriend. I wonder if I had had that experience if I would be repulsed by the possessive Edward. On the contrary, my husband and I have a good relationship. We are a team. He would get angry if someone else tried to seduce me or if I was unfaithful because it would be an attack on our unity. Not because someone tried to take what was “his.” But because it would threaten to tear apart what belongs together. In reality, I would never want this kind of behavior from my husband. I am valuable to him because of who I am and what I add to our relationship, not because he can own me. I don’t feel like a subset of him or a toy that he can do with as he wishes. We are “one flesh.”

So why do I find this concept attractive? Is it just that we feel free to explore ideas in fiction that we wouldn't appreciate in real life? But why is this even enticing?

NaNoWriMo Prep Week 3: Software and its Discontents, and Word Count Hacks

So you're all signed up and ready to go, you have an idea for a plot (or not!).  The next question is, what do you actually put your words into, so that you can get to 50,000? 

The biggest enemy to 50,000 words is distraction. 50,000 words won't eat your life if you can get the day's count (the magic 1666) in an hour and half or so. The more you can do to give yourself ways to keep focus, the better.

Today I thought we'd talk about our favourite cuisine. Unsurprisingly, mine would be British. I like the simple, comforting things in life. And for me, nothing is better than a good old Sunday roast.

I was perusing my "Favorites" list today, and I was bummed to see that several of my favorite WIP's have been sitting idle for a while.  This is not a campfire to berate these authors or complain at all - I'm incredibly grateful for any author that shares their work for free, and I completely understand that real life business or writer's block get in the way sometimes.

I'd love to send these authors a PM and let them know that I'm missing their words, but I'm not sure if I should.  I know that authors can sometimes go into 'hiding' when they can't update like they once did. 

So, writers, would you enjoy getting a friendly message from someone who's thinking about you and your characters?  Or would it just make you feel sad or angry that you can't update as soon as you'd like?  How can I, as a reader, support you?  And if the answer is 'shut the %&#$ up and wait patiently', I'm fine with that too :)

There are times when I write an update and I love it so much the moment I hit "submit" on ff.net. But then when I think back on it a couple weeks later, I think how crummy the entire thing is and want to scrap it. But updates are one thing, completed fics are another. I could finish a fic and immediately think I should delete it. Or change the ending. Or want to develop a character more. 

Have you all felt this way about your fics? I mean, genuinely annoyed by how the plot plays out or by how a character does something you did not want him or her to do. And when you feel that way, do you fix it after uploading it to a website or do you keep it as is?

Several months ago, Micheal Sheen (Aro), did a reading on VH1 that some people thought was cool and others found insulting to the fan fiction world. (The link to the video is in a post below)

What I would like to ask here is, if you could select a passage from a Twilight fic to be read on national televison, which passage would you choose and why? Remember, this is national television so the passage would have to work for general audiences. Feel free to pick more than one.
