A sweet UK acquaintance on my Google+ account shared this absolutely gorgeous timelapse HD video of the Midnight Sun phenomenon in Iceland. It's so breathtaking that I had to share it here. Then it made me think of that d*** unfinished manuscript that just sits there, dead in the water. Think it will ever get finished? Is it even relevant any more? Hi, campers

I have been allowed to post on ADF. I am honored and now I have to start doing it . (With the kind tutoring of LJ Summers, because I am a disaster with computers).

I will post my older stories for the moment. (I confess I hope to give them a chance to gain a few new readers, they are sadly gathering dust on the shelf, now). So, what will I start with?

1. A vampiric fairy tale? (six chaps)
2. A Canon one shot set at the time of Eclipse?
3. A post BD fic that spans five centuries, where my city, Rome, has an important role, and all the places named still exist and can be visited? (thirteen chaps)
4. A naughty peep on some secrets that are revealed on Isle Esme? (two chaps)
5. Or the only story I wrote so far that has no vampires in it but other mythological creatures? (five chaps)

Ah, btw, the main pairings are all Edward and Bella.

Summary: Renesmee and Jacob have just married and Edward and Bella are free to enroll in yet another university, where they plan to follow a course of classical studies. But Edward suddenly leaves and all the Cullens disappear. Bella is confused and totally alone. However, she is sure of his love and fears that something terrible might have occurred. It has. Indeed something happened when Carlisle was in Rome in the 17th century and now all the Cullens have to pay for it. A Latin myth opens for Bella the road which might allow for her to rescue them.

I am a quivering mess but I did post it, after many failed attempts and the substantial help of LJ Summers. Now that it is up, please have a look.

I know, I know, I'm constantly creating campfires asking for recs for stories. But I do not apologize, since you guys have pointed me towards some outstanding work I might not have come across otherwise. Did I butter you all up enough? :) 

I am in the final chapter (of what's been posted) of Hydraulic Level 5 and i'm starting to think that I won't be able to find something to read next that can compare to this amazing story. I wonder if there's some other older stories out there I missed? I prefer completed.

I'm looking for that one fabulous story that is:

~Beautifully written, great storytelling.

~Has many layers, and rewards you by peeling them away little by little.

~Great character development.

Much like "Awake in the Infinite Cold", "This Is Not My Life", or " If Love Can Light A Candle" did.

a different forest presents: the "a day in the life" contest

but ranger wtvoc, what is "a day in the life"?

basically, this: 

pick a day for this upcoming weekend. 

you will take pictures of your entire day, no matter how mundane you might think it is. for example, i'm going to put my iphone by my face when i go to bed and try to remember to take a picture of my husband's grumpy face when the alarm goes off.

then you'll upload the pictures to the internets and share them, photo journal-style, right here on ADF in your very own campfire.

the rules are thus: starting this monday, 7am EDT and running through thursday at midnight eastern, you will start a campfire of your "day in the life". the format is simple: give it a title. only ONE picture is to appear on the front page. you may use sparkles, music, (autoplay will get you disqualified), cool fonts, and/or ONE video in your front page- anything to get us to come in. add the tag "a day in the life" to your campfire.

whatever is contained inside your campfire is up to you. please note: your day in photos must be contained inside the campfire. we don't want to kill the front page. you can use one picture to tease us into coming inside and anything else to entice~, but don't overdo it, yo.

i will include simple instructions on how to post pictures on ADF inside this campfire. the rest is up to you.

rangers, you can't win. BUT i really wish you'd participate. 

now, how do we choose a winner? easy. the rangers will decide whose campfire is the most entertaining. it will include the pictures themselves, as well as the commentary and overall visual experience of the CF. how exciting (or totally not) your day was just might not matter, so don't give me the "but i don't do anything exciting!" excuse, peach.

Bella Swan was just supposed to be a part of Jasper Cullen's plan to take a revenge with his elder brother Edward Cullen-The Perfectionist. Everything was planned. Pity. Love just doesn't come with a plan.

As we have now officially entered what I deem to be "late October," it was time to do this one. I have had a request for a list of Hallowe'en Themed Fanfiction.

The story might feature a Halloween party or have a theme that revolves around Hallowe'en itself. Maybe historical, maybe AH or even AU.  

Any rating is welcome, as are all pairings.  I'm even up for crackfic. :D

Good Morning, Campers!

Today I thought we'd talk about those childhood memories that never fail to bring a smile to our face.

A particular one of mine is between my sister and I. We'd just finished watching the movie 'Krull' I think it was, and must have only been about eight and nine respectively. Anyway, there's this huge spidersweb in the movie, and the evil geniuses that we were, we decided to make our very own web... in the house. My Nan was a big knitter, so there was always balls of wool lying around the house for when she'd come visit. We each grabbed a ball of soft yellow wool, and went to town. The banister was our starting point as it was the most sturdiest object in the room, and from there we attached the wool to light fixtures, sofas, table legs... bacisally anything and everything in sight (apart from the cat). The end result was amazing (to our young selves anyway)... but needless to say our Mum didn't think so when she opened the door and was unable to go any further. And even more so when our brother ran down the stairs to see what the commotion was, only to then jump into said amazing web and ultimately break a few things. Yeah... lmao

I love getting to see the different body type. 98% of all fics I've ever seen have characters who could be a size 8 at the largest. Does anyone have any recommendations for well-written completed stories where a character isn't transformed into a smaller size from a plus size? I'll happily read WIPs as well so long as they're updated regularly. I dislike reading half a story then discovering it's unfinished and hasn't been updated in years. Thanks!

So..there is this new BD pic where Alice is showing Bella her wedding shoes.

I'm not really a shoes kind of girl but omg I love it. Apparently they're designed by Carolina Herrera (who also designed her dress) and Manolo Blahnik.

What do you think? Do you care about shoes at all? Is there any pair of shoes you would die for?
