Did you ever stop to think about the massive cramp vampirism would put into holiday celebrations?  Just think about it!  No more birthday cakes, no more hot chocolate with whipped cream on Christmas Eve, no more holiday baking with family and friends.  And what is the vampire version of the cheeseball ... a chipmunk?  

Every Thanksgiving and Christmas since Twilight, I've caught myself pondering how much of our culture's traditions revolve around eating and drinking and how strange it would be if you suddenly couldn't participate in that anymore.  A hunt and a movie just doesn't sound as comfy-cozy as dinner and a movie, ya know?  And speaking of the movie -- no popcorn!

What do you think?  Would an eternity of mind-blowing sex with the sparkly one make up for no more chocolate -- EVER?  I'm on the fence here ... 

So tell me, what about vampirism would completely suck  for you (oh look, a bad pun, sorry)  -- besides the obvious, like outliving all of your human loved ones?  Also, because I'm using this campire in a shameless effort to gather new recipes for Christmas  I'm curious, please share one new recipe that you're dying to try this year.  Here's mine:

So lately ive been snooping around Pinterest for the past couple of months. If anyone doesn't know what it is HERE YOU ARE: http://thedailydigi.com/pinterest-101-a-tutorial/ and if you feel like browsing and looking at the most amazing things HERE YOU GOOO http://pinterest.com/ . It's basically where you can pin all these different things you love/like and you can learn how to do the coolest crafts. 

I can honestly spend as much of my pathetic time browsing this site as much as I read fanfic:) and waste my life away on tumblr. Its so facking addicting! You find all sorts of recipes like making the chick fil a chicken and the red lobster cheesy garlic butter bread yuummmm :)and make cool DIY (do it yourself crafts) its basically a cooler version of tumblr imho. i even learned how to make my annoyingly straight asian hair curly without heat..SOOOOOOO...

if anyone on here has a Pinterest account can you please invite me since the site is being stupid and no longer accepting email requests/take weeks? PLEEEAAASSSEEEEE itd make my short lived month:)

 Some say that as we grow up, we become different people at different ages, but I don't believe this. I think we remain the same throughout, merely passing in these years from one room, to another, but always in the same house.

Getting older isn't always easy, but it sure beats the alternative. At age 52 I am comfortable in my skin. I still think young and feel young but...I'm not young. And I don't mind this fact even one little bit!  Having lost my only brother when he was 25 has made me appreciate the fact that it now takes at least five boxes of candles to light my birthday cake.

How do younger campers view older campers here in the forest? Does it seem weird that some of us are old enough to be your mother? Or conversly, do you like having an older woman to chat with who can listen and perhaps offer a few words of wisdom? How about older campers? Do you ever get lonely here in the forest? I like having the age diversity...it helps me stay current with fashions and trends. It keeps me young, well, younger. Or at least it feels that way!

Lately I find myself drawn to fics that address the fact that even as we age we are still capable of finding love or staying in love. Here is one that has some wonderful glimpses into an older Bella and Edward. Still in love, still sexy, and still every bit as compelling at age 47 and 53 as they were when they were young. Thank you Lady G for the newest update!

I need your collective wisdom.

my one and only RL twi-friend finally, FINALLY succumbs to my incessant pestering (months of it, maybe a year) - and has agreed to give a chance to one or two twilight fanfics.

so i need your "professional" opinion on which TWO i should pick, i'm only getting this one chance from her!

Is this a British thing?

In the past month I have seen many stories using the past tense of stand and sit for present tense. All of them have been by people in the UK. Now it's my new peeve. We have gone on and on about the whole..you are, your, you're issue. Not to forget the he/him and she/her problem. But this is something I never really noticed before and it is jarring enough that I know I would have noticed it before.

Example that I just read....There was a sharp knock at my office door and I groaned as I looked up. XXXXXXX was stood by my office door.

Should have been....XXXXXXX was standing by my office door.

It's the same thing with sat. They write was sat instead of was sitting.

Anyone else notice this...or any other new things that haven been beaten to death yet?

some time this week, i'll be doing a freecycle campfire, holiday edition. i wasn't sure what to do, and i've been agonizing over this with some of my fellow rangers.

i'd really like to do a sort of gifting kind of thing, but i don't want people to bitch about how tacky it is to ask for stuff like someone ALWAYS does. complain, i mean.

and putting your old, unwanted crap out there and tying it to the holiday season just seems wrong somehow lol

so... any suggestions? like, if i said, "if you're willing to send a giftcard to a complete stranger, post about it here", would people actually do that? i don't have much money to burn and also lol unemployment, but i'd totally be down for sending someone a gift from disneyland. i mean, you guys give me so much that i just wish i could send all of you homemade cookies or something.

so idk, this time of year really puts me in the giving spirit, and i think it does for some of you guys, too. 

so... would anyone else be down for this? like, maybe whoever can/wants to can either come to me privately and i'll put their gift offerings out there, or people can say "i'd really like this" and someone can get it for them. or maybe people can privately message other campers asking for their addresses because they want to send them gifts. over the years, i've been approached privately for certain people's addresses so that gifts could be sent. :') you guys make me proud to be in the fandom sometimes!

i know a lot of you are incredibly generous and maybe don't know how to express it, so i like posts like this because i feel like it gives you all a chance to connect in this crazy, disconnected world full of technology designed to bring us together... when it mostly keeps us at home, glued to a chair, couch, or bed. you know me, always trying to create this sense of community...

idk idk i always feel like i have to tread likely with posts like this because people think it's wrong somehow. is this just a really bad idea? it's cool to tell me if you think it's a bad idea, because i genuinely want to know. you can let me know privately.

So, I know I posted a couple of similar campfires before about Internet censorship and privacy and wanted to share more information with you, in hopes that you will share it with others as well.

Here's a video and article (the best I've seen) that explains proposed legislation in the U.S. that would allow some censorship of the Internet in the States.

The law is arguably well-intentioned, but the consequences would be far-reaching and would presumably affect countless web-based start-ups, businesses and individuals who use the web across the country.

The title says it all. I need someone who can give me in-depth feedback on grammar and plot decisions. The story in question is set to be a short Mobward fic (two of the chapters are already posted on ff.net and Twilighted), around 10-15 chapters. Set in New York, with heavy Godfather overtones (from the book and movie), I'd say it'll be about 60% romance/fluff, 40% action/violence, etc. Really, it's my first attempt at lemon-writing, so I guess I'm also looking for someone that can help me with that as well.

Last year my husband, sister-in-law and I started a holiday tradition for our friends and family.  We host an ugly Christmas sweater party. 

We have food, booze, crappy Christmas music (my husband, I don't know where he finds this stuff, but last year's music was awesome), crappy decorations and prizes for the ugliest sweaters.

We also pose, Awkward Family Photo style and make our own photo invites.  Which we need to really do this week.  Ugh.

How many of you campers do this every year?  I'm looking for some ideas to add to festivities this year and need some ideas.

But my lovely campers, here is where I REALLY need help.  I am total fail and do not have my sweater yet.

For those of you who have some ugly Christmas sweaters to get rid of, is there any way you might be able to send one my way?

Anyway, in light of the season, let's talk about ugly sweaters, ugly sweater parties, and post your pics of ugly sweaters, yo.  And if you've got one for me, DM me, lol.
