Today I wanna talk about things that we're supposed to do, but no one really does. Things that society or experts or the little paper of instructions inside the box tell us is the right way to do something...that many of us completely ignore.

Examples, yes?

1.) I know I'm supposed to floss. I have a minor panic attack every time I have to go to the dentist because I know I'm going to get asked about my flossing habits and thus I know I'm going to have to lie through my teeth (pun intended because I'm witty like that) and say I do even though I know they can probably tell that I don't. But still...I don't floss.

2.) And while we're on the subject of oral hygiene, does anyone really brush 3 times a day? I mean, come on! I give myself a pat on the back if I remember to brush in the morning and mouthwash at night, yo.

3.) We're told time and time again that we need to cover our mouth when we sneeze/cough/spew bodily fluids, and I DO when I'm around people. But if I'm walking alone in a parking lot or driving along I-75 by myself? I spew away. I mean, why not, you know?

4.) I've never met anyone who does the "repeat" part of the "wash, rinse, repeat". Seriously.

More of mine (which I just now realized all pretty much have to do with hygienic measures...) and hopefully some of yours in the comments! 

So, we're about a week away from what usually is the biggest and most important party of my year: CARNAVAL!! Every year, Bestie comes down for a few days and we meet up with some of my other friends and my extended family, for a couple of days of dressing up and letting loose. I LOVE IT!

This year, however, I will miss it. Why, you ask? Well, I'm still travelling!

I happen to be in North Carolina at the moment, so close to the southern states and their Mardi Gras.

Now, that made me wonder... Are there any campers in this part of the world who have anything special going on, or know of any parties in the area?

Better yet: are you within driving range of Raleigh, NC, plan on having a blast for Mardi Gras, and wouldn't mind taking one extra person (or two - my cousin might want to go too) along?

The Summit co-founder and now Lionsgate exec said the indie studio will produce a sixth vampire flick if Stephenie Meyer writes another installment.

“If she (Meyer) wishes to do it, we’ll be there to support her” with a sixth film, said Friedman, who now runs the Lionsgate movie division with Patrick Wachsberger after the duo sold Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the Twilight franchise, to Lionsgate in January as part of a $412.5 million leveraged buy-out.

Hey, all!  So . . . I know it's BD weekend and all, but I've been in a serious fandom-mingling mood lately.

I know a lot of us have other interests (ahem, obsessions) outside of Twi, including lots of other book series, TV series, etc.  

I'm looking for fic recs from any fandoms other than Twi -- HP, Game of Thrones, BDB, American Horror Story -- heck, I read a Gilmore Girls fic I liked once, so anything goes!

Well, since it is free for all ... I need help finding a fic. Like a good little camper  I tried to post it on the help campfire, but I was able to do it only many hours late, due to time zone, so nobody probably saw it, So here I go again. Mi rec will be below

So I have lost again a honeymoon fic. I need the title and - if it is pulled - how to get it. In this story the honeymoon lasts longer than the original. Edward and Bella go visit Rio de Janeiro and surroundings and deal with some issues, apart from sex. For instance, Bella gets a motorcycle and drives it, with Edward in the rear seat, dying ... but he accepts that he cannot control her and she might like to take some risks. It was fun and mature. Does anybody remember it?

And here comes my rec. Prism, by Anna Faze. I am totally fazed. I mean, I don't understand what is going on - not at the level of Mark of Beauty, but almost. What  is Charlie's secret? What is the power of his blood?

I'm in a super chirpy mood today so bear with me... Thimbles actually brought this up and i thought we could have a campfire about this...

I have read my share of good fiction (whether its fanfic or original fiction)....i honestly feel that the pool of talent we have here in fandom is amazing!!!!

There are so many authors in ffn that are better than some of the published writers out there....I'm saying this from a reader's point of view...I'm not a literary critic...I wont know technical faults in their writing if there are any...

I've come across some like Nolebucgrl, AwesomeSauce76, les16, Lady Gwynedd, primarycolors, SydneyAlice, The Black Arrow, TallulahBelle, troublefollows1017, jenny0719, amoredjenaue, CaraNo, clpsuperstar....

i love these authors to death!!! i have read some of the best stories ever thanks to them....

so tell me campers...know some authors that write better than published fiction you've come across???
