So I dunno if anyone has seen the new Showtime series "SHAMELESS?"  This is the new series about a family from Chicago and the dad is always loaded.  The family dynamic whacked by modern culture's middle class standards, but honestly, this is probably one of the more true-to-life dramas that has come onto the screen as of late.  I absolutely LOVE the craziness and sit back each Sunday night and watch their world go up in flames.  We get some spice from Rossum and Chatwin's characters, and I don't wanna give anything away, but dang.  THANK YOU SHOWTIME!

So yeah the UK has a convention about twice a year called Eternal Twilight and they are freaking awesome, I've been twice so far and going to my 3rd next month. However tickets aren't selling too well this time so they've asked us to spread the word so I am.... If you're British and have a weekend free next month then i really suggest you come because it's so much fun. Not even the guest, it's the rest of the fans that make it fun.... it tend to be (from what i experience there anyway) to be a huge excuse for a few hundred women to get drunk and party for the weekend and meet a celeb or 2 while they do it :) ... there are younger people there but the majority seem to be adults that go i think. http://www.massiveevents.co.uk/eternaltwilight5/ but seriously it's amazing fun :)

HEY FOREST!

I've had an incredibly insane few weeks. Job interviews, starting some classes so i can ameliorate my grey cells, helping my dad sort out his mom's estate... just ALL OVER THE PLACE.

AND I had a thought: When the monks made Dawn I think they took some kind of essence from Joyce and Buffy, yanno? Or, um, when they were implanting the memories or whatever... the thing is, they messed with Buffy's and Joyce's heads... and Buffy has the SLAYER STRENGTH but Joyce doesn't. I think this is why Joyce fell apart. I think it really was because of Dawn and because of Buffy's destiny. It's sad.

Now, keep in mind that I've never read any of the nerd shit backstories and explanations provided by the writers, so perhaps this stuff has already been revealed and I am way off base. Whatever. 
 

Anyway, my point is, I've hardly been around. Please catch me up. Someone tell me everything I've missed for the past fortnight or so in the Forest.

Earlier this week there was a post about the end of High Anxiety that had a lot of people talking. I have seen no mention of the end of this epic fic:

This wrapped up after almost 2 years on Monday.   This, EP and HA were probably the last fics that I was still keeping up with that were just epically long.  And just like the other two I remember starting it when it was in it's wee infancy.  Now I rarely read WIPs or HS fics because I hate waiting for updates and, well, teenagers annoy me (sorry teens but so do really old people and probably college kids too, I hate people sorry).

I loved the originality of this storyline, and well for some reason I love cutesy nicknames so when she turned from "the Goose" into "Sparrow," le sigh.  I know a lot of people read this fic because it almost has just as many reviews as HA.

What did you think people?

And if you haven't read this fic and you don't mind reading super long angsty fics with a touch of mystery (I love a good whodunit)  then read it!

So, in RL I have made a buttox of my self many times. One in particluar that stands out is a convo with my sister (Slash ~ I don't actually remember what it was about) and I brought uo Floor play. *shakes head in shame  To which she said "Floorplay? Don;t you mean Foreplay? B/c it's like beFORE?" The she continued to laugh at me for about the next 10-15 mintues approximately. It's embarassing saying this. For soemreason, I had explain to myself in my brain that it was floor play b/c it could start on the floor if you wanted. Yea, I was young and VERY naive. Not young enough, I should have realized.

but we are not having any luck (*hint* hint*). What other great UK tv series we should be watching? And how do those of you in the UK deal with such short series? It drives me a little nutty. Also, I have no desire to see the American versions of either of these but I can understand why due to the fact that most of the UK version would be so censored as to render them useless.
