Hi. Long time lurker, first time camp fire-er-er?

I've been reading fan fiction for...wow...three years. But, oh, how the time has flown! It feels like just yesterday I was cutting my teeth on stories like Wide Awake and Clipped Wings & Inked Armour. How far we've come!

One thing I'm noticing of late are some trends that seem to be emerging in our little fandom, both bad and good. 

For example; the drabble fic. Two thousand and eleventy billion chapters of 100 words. Good or bad?

Or the short chapter fics - about 1k each, which I'm not adverse to. Like a quickie in the morning; short and sweet.

Also, disturbingly enough, i've noticed a lot of GREAT, really, really great stories that just keep on keeping on. When does it end? Do we really need to see every. single. minute. detail? What ever happened to a nice, tidy 25 chapter story? Why, when the story hits it's peak and becomes "resolved", are we seeing a further twenty chapters? Is it simply for the reviews? Or are we simply unable to let go?

Because in all seriousness - seeing my favourite stories turn into epic 7493 chapter juggernaughts turns me from...

Has a story ever ended and you've wanted more? And if you got it, do you think it would be worth it?

I'm looking for two fics...

1) Edward and Jasper were brothers. Jasper used Bella to trap Edward. Edward had an ex-Tanya. she died in accident. Edward started to love Bella, but she was just fooling with him earlier then she fell in love. That's all I could remember.

2)Edward and Bella were married for convenience. Edward wasnt man of words in this. Title was something 'arrangement'. Any idea????

I think I've finally found the one who is going to lift me out of this humiliating twilight obsession toward a lust that is more mature and socially acceptable.

When people find out I'm crazy for Rob, they judge me. There is a definite stigma that only stupid women love Twilight, and hell, I don't blame them. I know it's bad, but I. Can't. Help. Myself. I needed something to fill the void of Harry Potter once my favorite ships went down, (there are still a few lifeboats, but survival isn't looking good), and I am pretty monogomous in my celebrity lusts. Rob has been the only two dimensional man that's done it for me in a long while...

I also enjoyed Hunger Games, and ship Vi/Tate in American Horror Story, but as I'm getting older (23 zomg), it's hard to truly crush on such wimpy young actors, awesome though their characters may be.

I'm sure this discussion question has been done before, but what obsessions do you have that compete (or dare I say, crossover) with Twilight/Twilight men? Are you on the lookout for something that is "healthier"?

More importantly: Are there any Twilight fanfics out there in which you imagine Richard Armitage as Edward???

So in a few campfires down, we were asked to list fav characters/actors and several of us brave souls spoke up to say this guy:

Michael Sheen does such an excellent job with him, as KayMarie and I were saying, its just the right mix of elegant, lethal and crazy. He IS the vampire archetype.

So the Volturi don't get much love, but I really love a well-written Aro, Sp please give me some recs where Aro is rounded and well written, evil or not, a vampire worth the bite.

I almost didn't do this, but I'd really love to read something new, and can't for the life of me remember when the amnesia campfire is.

So, basically like the title says I'm looking for recs that are an alternate New Moon where Edward didn't come back, or he went to Volterra and things didn't go as planned and had to stay, or a post New Moon where he does come back but Bella decides not to forgive him or take him back. Basically Edward/Bella as a couple don't go any futher. So the NON-CANON can be ANYONE with Bella, (Jasper/Bella, Carlisle/Bella, Paul/Bella, hell Riley/Bella), if you want to go that route, or ANYONE with Edward (Edward/Tanya, Edward/Jane, Edward/Leah or Edward/Demetri) as long as it's falls under the alternate/post New Moon category.

Obviously AU, complete if you got it, but WIP totally acceptable, definitely non-canon, slash for Edward okay too.

Hi all!!

Im looking for any well written Carlisle/Bella stories where the Cullens are still vampires but Bella ends up with Carlise NOT Edward. I have read a few where Carlisle comes back after Edward leaves, but im not interested in those. I want ones where Bella isn't with Edward at all.

I just finished a WIP called Moonlit by StormDragonfly that is really good and want to read some more! (The only problem is it is in its 24th chapter and still no straight forward Bella/Carlisle love! :( And there is no Emmett!?!?)

So considering the authors and publish date, I am sure most of you have read this fic, (though I am not sure why the low review count) but in case there are more people like me out there I felt the need to start this campfire. 

I am an angst chaser and am constantly looking for the fic that will make me cry like a baby.  Over 500+ read and I had yet to find it, until this weekend.  I just read Dear Isabella and I believe it is by far one of the angsty fics I have ever read and I am so glad I found it.  I usually only read fics with higher review counts/more chapters but I saw this rec'd on here recently.  While being angst filled, it was also one of the most beautiful stories out there.  Thank you wtvoc and jandco for a great fic!  Cried.Like.A.Baby!

Hey Gals & Guys (who am I kidding?),

I have a little holiday weekend rec. I discovered this fic & really think it could use some more love. It's quite sweet & interesting and deals with a seldom covered subject matter in fanfiction -- the dark side of religion, cults. Well, at least I haven't read any stories dealing with cults. I personally find the story really fascinating and, most importantly, the author makes me care about the characters.
