I want to ask a favour from the wonderful people here that frequent the forest.

The daughter of a very very good friend of mine is about to go into hospital to fix her spine, she has a rare desease called Charcot Marie Tooth disease as per the newspaper link here this was a couple of years ago and she is now 10.

I would like to be able to send her some books to put on her iPad to read while she is confined to a hospital bed. She is a lovely girl with a very positive attitude along with her Mum. Amber lost her Dad to cancer just over 2 years ago.  She is a gutsy young lady and I thought of this site and knew I may be able to get something.

My kids are all grown up and I have no clue now what a 10 year old girl would read but she did say she liked fantasy. 

So Campers if you can help out I would be very grateful.

EDIT: Sorry I have not been able to respond, but bed time beckoned me last night and this morning was a bitch at work, but thank you for the suggestions.  I will go through Amazon and see what is avail that I can convert to PDF for her.

So tomorrow is Remembrance Day in Canada and other Commonwealth countries around the world.  Usually I will go for a memorial ceremony to show support to veterens and wear my poppy for a couple weeks before. Without fail, I would lose at least two before I got smart and put an earring backing on it to keep it on.

Usually for about two weeks before the History Channel will air documentaries, and without fail Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan--the first 10 minutes still terrify me--are shown.

I realize that this is a rather somber campfire, but I feel like with so few WW2 veterens around, and so many young people who have been involved in wars lately, that it was important to post something and acknowledge what they have done for us.

To make this interactive: Do you do anything special to commemorate Remembrance Day? Watch the veterens' parade?  Watch movies pertaining to a certain war?  Attend a ceremony? Do you have any veterens in your family?

(Obviously you don't have to be from a Commonwealth country to post. I love all countries equally!)

I'm looking for a fic. It's a one-shot. I think it was for a contest, but I can't remember which. Bella and Edward are roomates (pretty sure the others are there, too). Edward is a seminary student. B + E have rooms that share a wall, and Edward can see into her room through the heater register grate in the wall. In fact, he likes to watch her masturbate. One day she drops a pair of panties in the hall when she's doing laundry; turns out they're dirty. He either sniffs them or masturbates with them while he watches her through the grate, and she calls out his name when she comes.

Does anyone know this one? I've been thinking about it all day, and can't find it.

I don't know how many of you watch Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, but on yesterday's show Norman Reedus was his guest and he BROUGHT THE CROSSBOW. Even talked about how they film the scenes when he's using it.

So I recently (as in the couple weeks) became a Doctor Who fan. Normally, I don't really care for science fiction but this caught the nerd/geek in me and wouldn't let go. It (at the time of this campfire) is 4:30 AM here. So what have I done for the past two hours?

My second-hand-embarassment-meter is almost full up from Rob's offhand comments this week.  I almost have to watch with the sound down now.

1) Here he is on Jimmy Fallon.  If ONLY Rob had worn a white t-shirt instead!  Video in the comments if you can bear it.

2) I'm not so fond of Kristen these days, so I haven't watched her videos BUT I love both her dresses here.

Simple, classic, showing off her great legs.  First one has a leather band across the bust.   Second has a flippy skirt, darlin'.  OTR Screening and Jimmy Fallon respectively.

3) Someone finally came straight out and asked if they were back together.  Interviewer from the Today Show, asking them each separately.  They both shut her down, Rob's answer verging on rude.  I liked it.

The Ellen show should be entertaining today... though I saw a bit of a discussion about Rob forgetting to zip up his pants... oh dear...  

Both K and R have now shown pics of Bear on television shows as their dog.  So is this a game of 'I have the right to tell you, but you don't have the right to ask me'?  I don't find that hypocritical, actually.

Just curious, do you think the betas of fics that are published get a little percentage of the profits?  Or a token gift card?  Or can they at least add it to their resumes that they helped edit a published book?
