I recently joined Amazon Prime.  I want to take advantage of the one free book per month, but I've been having trouble finding ones that I want to read.  So far I've read:

War Brides

both of which were pretty good.

Can you recommend any that you've found for free?  Or any that are < $5?

I mean, a magazine subscription is not how I want my eleven year old daughter to learn about what I'll refer to out here on the front as...the more detailed parts of the facts of life, you know? I live abroad so I'm looking at a really expensive subscription with the shipping. I don't want to be angry every time it arrives and reminds me of the $$$ I've wasted.

It's an early freeforall and well after midnight, 3:00 AM EST to be exact, and normally I would be fast asleep.

I was tired when I went to bed at 1:15, but sleep would not come. I had my alarm set for just before 8 and figure four hours of wasn't worth the effort.

Maybe it was the hot chocolate I had at 10:30. Yeah, it wasn't a brilliant move on my part. I needed chocolate.

Maybe it's the new blood pressure medicine I'm taking. Possibly, yes.

Maybe it's because I've been home alone for the past four days because my hubby went out of state hunting.  Yes, I think I need laid.

Whatever the reason, I'm still not tired. My mind is racing and my eyes are wide awake.

So come join me in the wee hours. Talk to me. Tell me your tips to battle a sleepless night.  Tell me anything...Like the craziest thing you've ever done after midnight. Why being awake in the witching hours is better than daylight hours. Random thoughts you get for no good reason. Heck I'll take a good pic spam of crazy stuff and random gifs.

Now I have to say that I haven't seen the new movie and this review is by a smarty-pants guy who I think we can safely assume is not in the Twilight-sphere and is never likely to be, but it's still hilarious, I reckon.

black friday

what're your black friday plans?

it seems to be this year's black friday trend that stores are opening at midnight. some open even earlier, on thanksgiving day. TURKEY DAY IS SACRED, GEE DEE. old navy and k-mart have always been open on thanksgiving, but are we trending toward everyone being open on thanksgiving, too? let your workers have a day of rest, sheesh!

anyway, i love black friday. i've been stashing and using my shopkick app and hoarding those "free $5 gift card with purchase"s from target so that i don't have to stress about being broke for christmas.

so, do you go hog wild? how much do you spend? are you shopping for holiday gifts or for yourself or for other?

have you been stalking places like blackfriday.com as i do? 

where are you gonna stand in line? (me, i don't stand in line. i'll fill you in on how i still get all my deals in the campfire) what do you absolutely need to get for cheap?

or, if you abhor people/crowds/shopping/etc, what will you be doing this friday?

Over at the Daily Dot today, we have a list called Top Ten Awesome Things Twilight Fandom Gave Everyone!  We try to write about all kinds of fandom happenings at the Daily Dot and Twilight is one of the biggest, so I hope you'll check it out and tell us whether you agree with our list or not, and what kinds of things you'd add to it! I know a lot of posts have already been made about the film so if this gets axed so be it. I finally got to see it tonight and, well...I'm perplexed. I tried very much to stay away from seeing what other people had to say about the film prior to my seeing it but being on the internet it's basically impossible to not see stuff. What I did see was a lot of fangirling and squeeing and general joy about the film.

Me? I'm pretty sure Bill Condon just said screw it and decided to get high for the last installment. I'd have to watch the other films again but I'm fairly positive this one is my least favorite.

So for those of you who loved it can you please tell me why? I'm actually seriously asking. This isn't meant to be a troll. I am snarky but I promise to respect your love for BD 2. I'm just genuinely curious why people liked it.

And please God, someone tell me I'm not the only Twifan that didn't like it.
