I'm not sure how many of you have been tracking the Stubenville Rape trials but they've held my interest for quite a while. I was very interested to see how this would play out knowing how the town initially treated the case.
Little history if you need it, a girl went out, got way to drunk and key members of the football team proceed to rape her, take her from house to house where she was continuously assaulted and video taped it. Put it on social media, bragged about it etc and in the meantime every single other person stood by and did absolutely nothing. They were the football stars in a town that had little less to be excited about.
Disgusting.
Well, this weekend they were found guilty and CNN went on air talking about these "poor boys" and what this would do to their "futures" and how now they'd be "forced to register as sexual predators" etc etc etc. The achors specifically were Candy Crowley, Poppy Harlow, Paul Callan
Beyond disgusted... outraged...

This being a community of women (mostly) I think it's time that we as a group had a serious talk about "slut shaming", "victim blaming" and just the absolute negativity that is thrown on us as a group, why do we allow it? What can we do to change it? Why do we participate it in?
BTW, I highly encourage you to go and leave a nasty comment on CNN's Facebook page or anywhere else you think they will get the message that this IS NOT OKAY.

Not sure if I need a rec because there are appropriate tags and it's interactive but I'm going to put one anyway: (goes to look in inbox for recent updates...."

Caged: Summary: This is not made for TV. This is the raw, brutal underground of no-holds-barred combat. Inside the cage there is nothing but me and the pain I inflict on those who dare enter. In the cage, I never had to worry about anyone but myself. When she started standing outside of it, everything changed. I was no longer fighting for the money or the glory – I had to fight for her.
