At what point in time do you give up on a fic ever getting updated? For me, if there is no post from the author about real life issues or writers block I give it three months. I just cleared out about five fics from my list. I saved two - one because I'm a fangirl and the second is by an author who just died (Abnormal Psychology by 4lettrwrd, I'm still sad about her passing)

So when do you throw in the towel? What pushes you over the edge to give up on a fic ever getting updated?

We've all had this experience.  You're reading along and some sexxxin' comes up and suddenly you stumble across a word or a position or a sex act that cockblocks the mood.  So, I've got a few questions:

1) What do you find a total (lady) boner killer?

2) What euphemisms do you prefer (e.g., are you a fan of Henry Wordsworth Schlongellow or Magic Johnson, or do you prefer the more demure core and bundle of nerves)?  Which do you hate?
