We found out in Eclipse Edward carried a Zippo in his pocket.  This was my favorite part of the book because well, that's hot.  It also started off this crazy thing where I'm ridiculously intrigued by what people carry around.  Pockets, purse, satchel--whatever.

Right now, if you dug around in my bag you'd find:

1. Blistex Silk.

2. No money.

3. Except for sticky dimes and pennies.

4. A Gameboy (with Tetris)

5. Cigarettes (don't you judge me)

6. A bouncy ball.

So,  I work with this woman who is in her mid-forties.  She's recently started reading the Twilight series, and I guess because I'm one of the younger people in my office, she's taken to discussing the books with me.  I was hesitant to do this, because I am closeted in the Twifandom in every way in my every day life.  I would die if anyone I knew was aware that I write fanfic, etc.  

Anyway, I was about to tell her that I hadn't read the books when she said,

"That series had one of the best endings I've ever read.  So exciting, so well written."

Lady...what kind of stuff do you read that you thought THAT was the best ending you've ever read?  Are you fishing in the dollar bin and like, reading the short stories in Highlights magazine?

Well, Campers, after I re-inserted my eyeballs into their sockets and picked my jaw off the floor, I said, "Are you effing crazy, lady?"  The ending of that book was utter shit.  My first (self-published, btw) book had a better ending, and that sucker was named, 'Why I Love My Daddy' and I wrote it in first grade.

We proceeded to get into a verbal sparring match over the ridiculous non-climax climax, and what a cop out SMeyer pulled by letting everyone have what they wanted in the end.  SHE EVEN THOUGHT RENESMEE WAS A CUTE NAME FFS.

The new Twihard asked me how I would've wanted Breaking Dawn to end, since I was obviously so dissatisfied.  After some thought, I decided I wanted it to go a little something like this (where Rob is Edward of course):

My friend was searching for Jacob fic yesterday, and she brought up a really interesting question...and I want to know what you guys have to say!

How come there's SO much more (like 10x more) Edward fic than Jacob fic, even though there's been a huge influx of Team Jacob people?

it starts with bella and edward meeting at a party bella is married edward then later on wins a bet of sorts and gets bella as a pretend wife for a weekend i believe, and jacob is okay with this when bella goes with edward up to his house she finds out that his mother is going to die because she is very sick so bella feels bad and stays a bit longer i think and some more info rosalie is a mom of two a girl who is super interested in bugs and a little boy oh and edward and bella were a couple in college but they broke up they still love each other, bella met jacob while she was at the vet or at the therapist if memory serves me correctly and yeah they are at a lakehouse and they went skinny dipping i think oh and jane and alec have a newborn baby leah is a slut and jacob broke edwards nose or foot while playing golf with him i think oooh and jacob is a doctor and edward is a professor i don remember what bella does but i do know she works with alice oh and bella was given a picture of rosalie and edward from there childhood when she was visiting esme edwards sick mother and emmet is in a band and yeah.

So yesterday we had the post about getting to know one another through gchat and then throughout the day many of us exchanged gchat info via PM so we can do just that.  Well, I don't know about you, but I didn't have the guts to actually chat with anyone.  Maybe the rest of you did and I'm just a big baby.  I don't know. 

So here's what I propose: sometime today click on one of those new gchatters you found yesterday and say hi.  Spend a couple minutes or a couple hours just talking about anything you want to.  I figure if I put some pressure on myself (and the rest of you as well), great things may come of it.  Maybe say hi to everyone if you want.  But at the very least start off with just one person.  I know most of the info I got was for people I've never had any interaction with before, so I'm excited to get to know them.

So I just finished "Teach Me A Lesson" and it's having me crave a little Bella/Edward student/teacher action. I don't care much who is the teacher, who is the student.

I've read Art After 5, the one where it's college and Bella has a one night stand she can't remember and Edward ends up her student (can't remember the name of it) and Private Tutor (the one where Edward is her TA?)

I recently just finished this amazing little novel:

So I've just finished a 7 hour clean and clear out and one of the random thoughts I had was....

If you could make a movie out of a fan fic which one would it be and who would you cast?

I went with Wide Awake as it's one of my favs and settled on a young Claire Danes and Jared Leto, obviously I'm a bit of a my so called life fan.

Also

If you could re-cast twilight would you stick with the Kstew and Mr Pattinson or go with someone totally different?

I would leave a lovely picture of the hotness that is Jared and the lovely Miss Danes but don't know how so anyone else feel free, lol : )

I need help in finding the fight terminology for something

In North Star, the Cullens live in a victorian style house that has a covered porch that goes right around the house. At one corner, the porth extends into a round gazebo like structure, where table and chairs can be placed for outdoor dining. Does anyone know that that particular structure on a porch is?

Just read this in Storytelling and LOVED it. It's a one shot. Read it if you get the chance.

It reminded me about all the things I really love about fanfiction. 

How a story can build upon the characters you love and just add more dimension to that love, how a story make you laugh and cry at the same time in the same sentence, the way really great stories evolve and become completely different in the best possible way.

I'm thinking about The Elite by Fate of Gabriel, and Sleepers, Awake by Fiesty Young Beden or even Dear Isabella by oh you know, those two authors we all love. : )
