So, an idea for a story popped in my head while i was washing the dishes this evening (i do my best thinking in front of the sink). I ran to my laptop to get it down and in around 50 mins i was finally somewhat happy with it. Now, i'm experiencing the FanFiction equivalent of Stage Fright and can't commit to putting it up online. This isn't anything new, i have half a dozen stories in various stages of progress on my hard drive that i haven't submitted to FF. I keep arguing with myself that it's because i know people want frequent updates and by completing these stories i can fulfill that preference.

Now i'm starting to realize that i may have been fooling myself, because i now have a complete one-shot sitting on my laptop and i just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.

Anyone else have this problem? I also have issues with public speaking and letting people see my drawings. I'm seriously having actual anxiety over this decision. I have a second FF account under a name i've never used anywhere and am considering putting up anon via that ID. Downside of that is it will probably get lost in the flood of other Twi-inspired fics. I'm such a chicken Sh*t. Also, the guilt of reading so many fanfics without actually contributing anything to the fandom is really wearing on me.

I don't usually read non-fanfic stories online, but I was having fun flipping the pages of the free version of the Bree novella & ended up reading a little bit of the introduction:
"No two writers go about things in exactly the same way. We all are inspired and motivated in different ways; we have our own reasons why some characters stay with us while others disappear into a backlog of neglected files. Personally, I’ve never figured out why some of my characters take on strong lives of their own, but I’m always happy when they do. Those characters are the most effortless to write, and so their stories are usually the ones that get finished."

I don't like putting words in another person's mouth, but, to me, this sounds like she lost interest in Edward. I've heard a few people on here that they believe the reason there isn't a lot of Edward in BD is because somewhere along the way S. M. lost his character or decided she didn't like him anymore (which would also explain why she didn't finish Midnight Sun) and I think this heavily infers the same thing. Even though she didn't mention Midnight Sun in the introduction & was talking about the story being presented, she was also kinda talking about her writing (specifically, how she can't write a character's story if she doesn't find it interesting), so I think it also applies to MS. I'm not criticizing or sticking up for her, I'm just presenting a theory: that she hasn't completed Midnight Sun because Edward isn't a strong character for her.

So what do you think: is my theory spot-on, completely bogus, or somewhere in between?

OK you guys are incredible at helping recognize forgotten fics. So I am asking for help on an E/B fic where Bella is pregnant at the beginning but Edward is not to thrilled about it and they have an accident that leaves Bella in a coma for a year (I think). So then he is left to raise their baby girl, until she wakes up. That's all I remember, if you could all do your awesome thing and help me!!!

Lets talk Anita Blake. I just read book 19 Bullet, and well honestly I am so pissed at Anita I want to strangle her fauxprude zombie raising ass. I will save my comments for in the campfire because they are length and spolier ridden.

I truly think (even if it is not my favroite series) Laurell K.Hamilton has created my favroite speculative fiction world in this series. I am just so frustrated with our little necromancer right now GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I want to know, do any of you read this series? How far along are you? What do you love? What do you hate? Why? Who are your favroite charcters? Are you a "Vintage Blaker" or a "Progressive Blaker" (I am neither I like porn and crime busting)

MTV has a series of backstage interviews with Rob, including this one where he talks about their rehearsal for Best Kiss acceptance. 

There was a story that I started to read but didn't finish.  Why? I don't know.  I tought that I would remember what it was called or who it was by but no such luck.  I can't give much for anyone to go on but I hope someone can help me.  I only read the first chapter.  Anyway.  Does this sound familiar - Bella inherits a victorian home from maybe her grandfather and there is an old desk in one of the rooms and a box with letters.  That is all I can really remember.  Sorry :(  I know that the story isn't Tides.  Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about and I didn't halucinate this story.

While Robert Pattinson spends his June promoting "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Summit Entertainment is working its cross-pollination magic by pushing "Remember Me" out on DVD.

Due June 22, the romantic drama starring Pattinson and "Lost" blond Emilie de Ravin touts a major bonus feature -- a cast commentary track in which the heartthrob drops serious pearls about his filming experience.

Taking the lead for our favorite factoid: Pattinson's dirty journaling. Playing the broody Tyler, the actor spent most of the film scrawling mysteriously in a leather-bound notebook. "On set I kept on going up to Rob and saying, 'You've got to write in your journal, mate,'" producer Nick Osbourne said.

Said Pattinson: "I remember writing all these kind of pornographic poems, whenever there was a close-up on it. Horrible, horrible things in bold capital letters."

We can only hope a man from Nantucket was involved. 

Other amazing insights into Rob's soul include ...

His sex scene was scary: Pattinson was "terrified" during his boom-boom moment with De Ravin. More so, he was sympathetic to the director of photography, "who had to look deep into my ... crack for a long time."

His mother was appalled at the thought of a tattoo: Pattinson's character has his brother's name inked on his left pec as a memorial. When his mom saw it in the "Remember Me" trailer, she called him immediately. "I was like, 'Really, do you think I tattooed 'Michael' on my chest?"

Fans take note -- when in Los Angeles, he reads scripts in a fast-food restaurant parking lot: "I was in an In 'N Out burger car park where I used to always read scripts. ... I realized I liked the character Tyler in the first four pages." Perhaps he celebrated with a Double-Double. 

He's not shy about his frustrations with the paparazzi: As the film's New York shoot was plagued with photogs, almost every scene in the "Remember Me" commentary comes with some anecdote about the invasive shutterbugs. "They showed absolutely no respect for anything," Pattinson remarks.

Big dramatic fight scenes (like in, um, "Eclipse") bore him: Pattinson gets roughed up by costar Chris Cooper in the film, and loved every minute of it. "It's probably the most fun I've ever had in a scene," he says of being slammed against the hood of a car. "Normally the fights are so choreographed, it makes it boring."

Rob does a mean Barney Gumble: Pattinson randomly bursts out in an impression of resident derelict Barney from "The Simpsons" on the commentary track. And it's actually pretty spot on.
