We did this at the gaz recently and it was fun, but also a way to get a snapshot impression about fics on your TBR list.

Basically: comment with the name of a fic. Then, others reply with the first word that comes to mind. (If they want to get really fancy, they can reply with a gif or image.)

I've found the most awesome moment on a youtube video and I was wondering whether anyone could make it into a gif for me?  Its 2.20 to 2.22.  Unfortunately I haven't got a clue or the software to do this and I was wondering if anyone had the time and the energy to make one out of the goodness of their heart?

So...do you intend on doing cosplay  for the Eclipse opening!?

In Brazil it's a huge tradition that you dressed as your favorite character...and we have contests and games.

But this year there is going to be a special viewing of Eclipse...just like the one in AMC cinemas...but simpler.

I and some friends created a group of official cosplayers and we're with the people who will organize the viewing...we have banners on the main bookstores and cinema of my town.

and it's already a huge success!

Not sure how many of you caught the interview Rob did with Nightline. I just happened upon it purely by accident. My hubs watches the show and groaned when he saw they were doing a piece on Rob, then he said "Well, i guess the kid's finally made it if serious shows line Nightline are paying attention to him." Ugh, man-logic.

Anyway, i finally found a vid with the whole interview, but i'm not sure how long the Copywrite Nazi's will let it be.

Take a look, he's his usual adorable self. Not so sure i like his tongue-in-cheek speculation that he will be dead by 30 as a price for his good fortune, tempting fate and all that jazz!

I SPENT MY WHOLE DAY WORKING ON WORK THAT I DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO DO.

and when i got round to looking at the work i DO want to do, i'm too braindead to figure it out.

you see, kids, this is why collaborations suck. writerA delivers a product to writerB at which point the product becomes writerB's responsibility. so writerB, being generally a well-focused person with a good work ethich and integrity to spare, starts working with the basis supplied by writerA. it all goes to shit, however, when writerA comes back several days later and says "i changed some stuff." but said writerA didn't notate the new document in any way, so writerB is left having to compare several pages of narrative and dialog line by line because she's already made changes to the original work, and now that there's a NEW original to work from, she doesn't really want to just start over from the beginning a second time, since a good deal of the second original matches the first original, anyway.

in conclusion, i will seriously kill ANYONE who interrupts me tomorrow. i'm too tired to figure any of this out tonight, and i am DETERMINED to get it done tomorrow, so if WOLVESNVAMPS pings me 23487 times about stuff i've ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF OMG CHECK YOUR FRIGGIN EMAIL ONCE IN A WHILE, i shall hop the next plane to Volterra.

As some of you may know (or not), I like to write AUs... a lot. But I also like to write AHs. [I actually just recently started two new fics, 1 AH and 1 AU... we'll ignore that 3rd AH geekporn fic for the purposes of this discussion, k?] Same goes for my reading list. In fact, I'd say my preferences as a whole are fairly evenly split. Let's just say I like a little a lot of everything.

But I'm learning that that isn't so for much of the fandom nowadays. From what I gather, from my own stats w/ the 2 new fics, as well as from talking to other authors, perusing forums, etc, that the majority of you ladies are, for the most part, AH-only or AH-mostly readers.

And I'd like to understand why that is. It seems a little off to me simply because the story that brought us all here in the first places was, well, quite vampy.

What's changed?

Why do you like AHs? AUs?

Why don't you like AH's? AUs?

If you are now a non-canon/AU reader, why? Vice versa for the non-AH readers?

Why isn't anyone talking about True Blood?
