Happy Friday everyone!

As some of you might know, I recently moved here:

My husband's job moved us blahblahblah.  I left a pretty good job (that I hated, actually) that I'd been at for 12 years.  In short, the last time I had to look for work, I was a) 12 years younger and b) the economy wasn't in the toilet.  

And guess what's happened in the last 12 years?!  Job searching CHANGED drastically.  OK, maybe my fellow ADF MI peeps can tell me if my eyes are deceiving me, but am I wrong in noticing that there are NO WANT ADS in the paper and that everything is online??  

We've been here for two months and I didn't even start looking for work until last week, so I can't say I'm feeling desperate yet.  But I am feeling kinda lost ... I've registered for all the major online job sites (which I hate, I might add) and have searched the federal, state and local county databases.  I've applied for 7 or so pretty decent jobs.  Still haven't heard anything but, again, it's only been a week.  Thing is, with this online application process, I get the terrifying impression that my resumes and applications are actually being sent here:

The last time I job searched, I applied for 3 jobs, got 3 interviews and was offered all three.  I am pretty darned sure things are going to go much differently this time around.  So, any tips/tricks/suggestions my fellow ADF-ers?  If not, I'll take photos of beautiful men too!!  Seriously, though -- I need to get back to work so I can stop complaining about being out of work and start complaining about having to go to work again!!

I am going to VEGAS next week. This will be my first visit and I want to know what places and activites I have to experience during my trip. Any help would be great.

And she was all OH EMM GEE wasn't that story like the best!?

And speaking of Jandco, I heard a rumor that she was in a barfight and had like seven teeth knocked out of her head and they gave her Vicodin for the pain which made her break out in hives and now she's wearing a burkha or a brown paper bag over her face or a sailor hat with a veil attached to it or something idek.

The point is: It's FREE FOR FREAKIN ALL FRIDAY and evverthang's going down tonight!

what happens when you click the ads on ADF

(OMG, I was searching for cat litter boxes and then I got all the litter box ads on ADF, and one of them is like this SEEKRIT LITTER BOX  for like double-oh-kitty or something. It doesn't look like a litter box; it looks like a hope chest. So you get married and open the box to receive your trousseau, and you get dismal little nuggets of pooh instead!! Who comes up with this stuff? Seriously.),

and what you plan to eat (nachos!!  ) while watching the sports this weekend. Et cetera. Tell us everything.

And I'm not kidding about clicking the ads. Not only do your clicks benefit our lovely trees, it can be a laugh riot!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN THIS WEEK?

I loved this story for so many reasons. The scientific aspect, the realism of Hermione and Snape's relationship, the descent into madness... This was truly brilliant, heartbreaking, wonderfully terrible... A must read.

IT ALL HAPPENS HERE EVERY WEEK IN THE FOREST!

Hello everyone! I have a mini dilemma I was hoping you would be able to help me out with!

A very close friend is turning 42 and having a birthday dinner on Saturday night. My problem is, I have NO idea what to get him, and my husband is very unhelpful in this department. I'm looking to you to give me some suggestions for a gift, using your various personalities, occupations, and regions as ways to think outside my own box.

Here is some info about him:

1. He has a great job, so he gets payed well and pretty much buys whatever he wants
2. He lives with his longtime partner in a beautiful, immaculate home across the street from us in NJ
3. He loves his drinks, but has most bar equipment, and I assume that liquor is going to be the go-to gift for most people attending
4. Animal lover
5. He's big into decorating, but also is quite handy
6. He does enjoy movies and TV
7. He has a warped sense of humor
8. He already owns a male blow up doll, so that's out.

Any suggestions are helpful, no matter how silly you might think it is. I can always expand on an idea! And i'm trying to keep cost at around $50-$100.
