I love taking care of my family. Part of that is constant continuing education about running the household, especially our kitchen! 

I started making my own yoghurt a few years ago, and even though I don't do it regularly anymore, I love making my own things and being in charge of my ingredients! (Note to self... make some yummy Greek yoghurt next week!)

Lately I've gotten into a fermentation vibe!

Kombucha. Does anyone else make kombucha? I just got my first SCOBY yesterday, and have it brewing away right now! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha

I've been making water kefir for a few months now, and we just love it!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tibicos

It's great, and we don't drink any coke or other soft drinks anymore, and we feel so much healthier drinking it. And, I can make any flavors we want... blueberry pomegranate is our current favorite, followed closely by ginger!

What are your favorite things? What new things have you learned that take you out of your comfort zone and help your family?

Since Twilight is done recording, I finally broke down and watched Snow White and the Huntsman. 

I have to say, despite neg. reviews, that I LOVED the movie and thought it was pretty awesome.  I think Kstew did a great job and I loved that side to her.  

On another note, I also watched Bait, with Xavier Samuel and while it was a bit cheesy, I actually liked it.  

What are you guys watching and how is your summer going?  Mine is so boring as my so-called friends seemed to have disappear with the ending of school.  Makes me wish we were closer to family :(

I feel like I'm making too much campfires (Sorry, if anyone's annoyed!) but being home from college and not having a job or any vacation plans resulted in me just reading fanfic all day and eating all the food in the fridge...

So anyways, today I want to ask all of you lovely folks for your favorite Coming of Age/Growing Up fics.Things like first kiss/first relationship & all those warm and fuzzy feelings you get from falling in love for the first time or even getting your heart broken for the first time too; stories with an element of innocence that make you nostalgic about your childhood and those "good old days". I'm not picky about the age-frame as long as I get my nice "trip down the memory-lane" buzz. I've already read Starry Eyed Inside, Don't Take the Girl, An Introduction to Swirl and Daisy, Four Summers, For the Summer, Green, Oceanic, Through the Oak Door (It's a mystery too but still have a lovely "first-love" feel), The Mirrors, and The Best I ever had.

Rec: I know a lot of people don't like to read one-shots, but these two are really well-written and also another example of what I'm kinda looking for. Enjoy!

I wasn't sure if there would be a help desk cf today, so I wanted to see if anyone in the forest knows whether Chrometurtle is planning on finishing Expectations and Other Moving Pieces?

I was cleaning up my favorites at ff.net and I noticed it has been six months since she updated her story. It's probably my favorite work of fanfiction, so I leave it up despite the lengthy update schedule for this story.

I'm always hopeful, and I think there was a several month wait for the last update, so I hope she plans on continuing this amazing story.

Anybody know about her, and about her plans for this story?

Here is my rec (obvious, huh?) - I highly recommend this story, but just be aware of the update schedule. It's a little slow....
