Ok. I read English Literature often. I am not even sure I sure can call it that...Chick Lit?.. perhaps that is better.

I notice that in nearly every book. There is tea and cakes, and biscuits etc.. all over the place.

These characters are not just having these treats during "Tea Time"; it is everytime they see each other.

You get an upsetting phone call, " I'll go make some tea".

Your brother is in a car accident, " I'll put the kettle on".

You are moving, " I packed the kettle last so it is the first thing we put in place"

And cakes---cakes at all times. I am going to gain weight from all the cakes I am reading about!

I would not be able to eat cake on a daily basis like that...not even close. I am not all up to date on this stuff, but I do not believe you guys have quite the obesity problem that we have here, and you are eating cakes and biscuits all the time it seems? How do you manage this? I am so jealous.

I even just finished a dystopian English series set 200 years in the future that was an M/M series with two men that were, in no shape or form girly....cakes, and tea, and biscuits all over the place there as well.

 I love all that is English. BBC America is one of the only things I ever watch. I am of the opinion that you guys have a superior gene pool. I really do. When you think about all the authors/artists/actors/musicians that have come from your area..there is really no competition. AND don't even get me started on the good looks...Why are English and Australian men so fliping gorgeous all the time?

I swear this now- Before I die, I am going to spend time in England and I am going to show up at people's houses and demand tea and cake and gossip....I must experience this.

SO-- My Brtitish campers, how is it really? Are these books portraying it how it really is?

Oh and can you add pics of favorite cakes/biscuits.  Like a Sultana? What is that. Chocolate Crunch...What is a flapjack?  I would love some pictures of the favorites.

I juste realized that Fandom for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society did a compilation. Does anyone have the oneshot by chrometurtle (author of expectations and other moving pieces)? The fund raiser ended a few months ago so there's nothing I can do about it.

Have you ever had a random Twific scene pop into your head for one reason or another or just no reason at all?

I often have moments of deja vu but since I've been reading fanfiction I get a lot of random fic flashback/struck moments throughout the day. I'm a pretty serious gal most of the time but I do breakout into random inside joke grins during serious moments because some weird Twific scene has popped into my head.

So to make this interaction lets go with different: at this point we've all read, know and/or have skimmed really popular scenes but let's talk about the random ones that tend to get pushed by the wayside of the popular scenes.

What's a random memory "moment" you've had throughout the day or at some point about a Twilight fan fic. What scene was it? At that time what all did you recall about it? What were you doing that you feel caused it to occur if applicable? Provide a picture of video if you want.

Google may frown on p000rn, but they didn't ban tuna, did they?  

Tuna is an excellent source of protein and just two servings a week can lower your triglyceride levels.  If you don't count its potential for contamination with mercury, its levels of pre-formed histamine (which make it more commonly associated with adverse reactions in people than other foods), or the tuna/dolphin fishing controversy, you've got yourself some pretty tasty seafood. 

Hence, ADF's inaugural Twilight Tuna competition.  

Your quest?  Choose the most nauseating, disgusting, unpalatable tuna recipe you can find and post it in the comments WITH PHOTO.  

On Friday, I will choose 3 finalists and let our fellow campers vote on a winner.  

What does the winner receive, you ask?  A brand new bar of Jamie Fraser scented soap from Skinsations Soap and Bath Products (which does NOT smell like tuna).

A few campers contacted me and expressed an interest in an Outlander book discussion.   Any of the books are up for discussion, since it seems we are all at different points in the series. 

I'd just ask that, out of respect for those campers who don't know Jamie gives up women and joins the priesthood in Book 6 might not have read as far as you, that you clearly give spoiler alerts and/or place spoilers in white text.

Before we get to the good stuff, though, let's take a look back at what brought us all together in this wonderful forest in the first place:  the Twilight books fan art!  Jamie Fraser's Scottish Highlander may be twice the man that Edward Cullen's virgin vampire is, but Outlander fan art has a long way to go if it wants to give Twilight devotees a run for their money...

Diving Deep for Fan Fic Treasures

Each week I will brave the treacherous waters of Fan Fiction for buried treasure. Below are the gems I've found this week!

Good drinks, good food, and good company. That's what makes Good Times the place to be. What happens when Bella Swan offers owner Edward Masen more? AH, rated M for language and lemons.

Definitley good times happening at Masen's!  Let's watch as Edward attempts to not bang the babysitter.  No doubt this will be an epic fail, and I can't wait to bask in his defeat.

Army Sergeant Edward Colonna returns home after six years overseas, only to find the love of his life in one, Isabella Swan. Can their love survive the test of time when he is sent away again? (Set during the Korean War era; late 1940's to early 1950's). Originally written for the Christmas Wishes Compilation..This is an expanded version.

As with most wartime stories, there is a bit of drama involved.  I am totally in love with Edward's rowdy Italian Colonna family and Bella's female dominated Irish Swan family. And, no, they don't all marry each other.  :)  There are some good original characters. The story is set to take place over a few years during the Korean War, but the author really keeps the pace moving so the years aren't dragging out.

This gal has done her research!  This story shows amazing detail of how life was stateside during WWII. I enjoy stories that come with a little history lesson, and she gives some great info at the end of each chapter.
