**ANONYMOUS ONE SHOT CONTEST**

This holiday one-shot contest is all about April. We're celebrating the Crazy Days of April and its many unsung holidays. International Tatting Day. Tweed Day. School Librarian Day. No Housework Day.

So, what do you do?

Decide are you going to write an original one shot or a Twilight fanfic based one shot with any pairing allowed.

Then come pick from our long list and write us a one-shot that includes one (or more!) of these Crazy Days of April. Sure, you could be an April Fool (it's allowed), but with so many creative holidays to choose from, we're hoping to see something different.

Bella is betrayed by her boyfriend and best friend. Sound familiar?  Oddly enough, I ran across two stories that start out with a similar premise.  I am enjoying them both.  This one moves Bella forward a little more quickly.  I am waiting for the ex-boyfriend and BFF to get their comeuppance and Edward hasn't even made an appearance yet!

FLASH BACK FIC DIVE:

Kiss Me Now, Kiss Me Never by ericastwilight
A curse spanning generations for two families. For one, unrequited love. For the other, all consuming hate. Together can they break it?

Ed & Bella have to break the curse on their ancestors to be able to be happy.

Bella loved Mike, Mike lied. Every memory was wrapped in deception, every kiss was a front. The click of a mouse brought it all to light. 10 years of lies changed Bella. Walls were built. With the truth out in the open, rebuilding Bella becomes a slow, brick by brick journey.

Bella is crushed by Mike.  Edward shows her how to live her life and love again.  Angsty, sweet love story.

Turn to Stone by nikkipattinson
Both damaged, Edward and Bella meet and the chemistry is instantaneous. Will she still love him when she discovers that he is the criminal defense attorney that got her rapist acquitted just two days before her attack?

Heavy angst here.  It's long, but worth the read.  One of my favorite original characters in fan fic is Edward's assistant Cynthia. I believe there is a sequel started, but I haven't had a chance to read it.

Jamie heard that people in the Forest had a thing for rain, and wet men, and Magritte.  Jamie is a helpful, giving laddie, aye?  See?

Speaking of Magritte, I've learned about a lot of interesting things from different campers in the forest, and also gotten a lot of good advice.  I'd seen some of Magritte's work before, but didn't know who he was or anything about him until a post in a recent CF piqued my interest.  And it got me to thinking of all the things I might have missed out on if not for everyone here in the Forest.  

What great fic/book/music rec, new idea, fabulous recipe, or bit of wisdom have you gleaned from fellow campers?  Spread some gratitude and love for your fellow forest dwellers.  You "guys" are a great bunch!

(Speaking of recs, DARN YOU WTVOC AND YOUR MOST EXCELLENT BOOK REC!  I speed-read Edenbrooke after you rec'd it the other day, and I sobbed through most of it.  And I don't even think it was particularly sad!  Sniff, I loved it.  I want my own Phillip.)

Happy Sunday!  It's been a really tough week in ValWaltzing's world, but things are looking up.  And you know what that means, right?

It's almost time. Less than 24 hours from now we will witness the carnage of the season 4 finale of The Walking Dead. You know someone's gonna die. But who? And what is Terminus? I've heard some plausible theories and some crazy ones.

Please come in and comment with your own theories and hopes and fears or just love for the show. If you know for sure what happens in the finale DO NOT tell us or I will eat you. Feel free to discuss what happens in the comics but put a warning if you do for those that haven't read it.

So, you guys convinced me to see it last night. Husband hated the teen girls audience, that wasn't that quiet, though not 1/100 as crazy and loud as the Twilighted audience. However, unlike Twilight he didn't want to kill himself or me. Maybe he would if the story had more romance and less, much less action, like I wanted. Also, I'm not sure I can handle any more teenage female leading characters. But at least there was some serious eye-candy going on there. Apparently we've given Summit enough money to get gorgeous actors this time. If only this guy had played Edward Cullen. I just knew there was something Greek man looking about Theo James (btw Theo means God bwahahaha). And he hasn't bashed the movie or the book or his character. Would have been much more appealing if there was angst involved (e.g. Tris' rape fears could have made him very anxious about how to proceed). What is it with female Christian (Mormons are Christian, right?) writers vs sex? I for one could never have suspected Stephenie Meyer was actually the most progressive of all three (the Hunger games author included. Hated that movie though).
