I really hate saying that someone's writing is bad. However, as we've all probably noticed (and as you can see by the "bad fic" campfire), there are some... well... bad stories and writers. I'm talking horrible/no punctuation, run on sentences that last for a paragraph, Mary-Sues that make you cringe in terror, and miss-spelling words so much so that they take on a totally different meaning.

AND YET... if you read some of the reviews, people compliment these stories and say how amazing they are. Some reviews talk about how it's a great plot, or how they can't wait for more. I don't get it. Are these people reading the same things we are?

Do you think they leave nice reviews because they feel bad for the author? Or because they think it's funny to pretend to like it? Or... do they REALLY like them and think that they are such great works of literature?

Had you heard about it?

No, no one knew about Twilight when we started working on it. No one knew it was going to be as big as it is today. It was a very calm set. There were no fans until the very end of the shoot. By the end there were teenage girls and the TwilightMoms. This bunch of moms would just sit around all day and take pictures. But even then, no one had any idea how big it was going to be. When it came out, I talked to Rob, and to be honest, I just don’t think he was ready for that kind of attention.


So you still talk to Robert?

He changed his phone number, but I can’t blame him for that. We talked for a little bit. I have Kristen’s number. I called her last month to say hi. But they have busy lives.

Is Kristen Stewart as big of a bitch as she seems?

The first week, it was kind of awkward. I felt like I had gotten to know her a little. But we were sitting together at lunch one day, just talking, and I said “Hey Kristen, how is filming going?” She blew up at me. “Preston! Don’t ask me how filming is going! I hate when people ask me that!” I got upset. Like, ‘oh sorry you’re the fucking star of the movie Kristen, my bad for asking you how it was going.’

Do you think that they’re dating?

No, I don’t think so. There was no chemistry on set. Robert… I just don’t think Kristen is his type of style. He’s a really shy kid. I think he’s only had one girlfriend ever.

What was the best thing about being in Twilight?

Filming the stunts for the baseball scene in the first movie. I wasn’t even supposed to be in it. I was just sitting on set and got a call on the radio. “Preston! We need you in the jeep!” And they just threw me in the car with the Bella double and said “Gun it!” It was this narrow gravel road and I was going as fast as I could, fish tailing around turns. There was a lake on one side and a big drop on the other. I thought ‘If I make one wrong move, we’re totaling this car,’ but all I could hear was the director through the radio yelling “Faster, faster!”

Did you work on New Moon at all?

No, unfortunately I did not work on New Moon, mainly because everyone besides the main cast members were new—including the director. Catherine [Hardwicke] decided not to work on the series again so everyone who wasn’t an immediate cast member was dropped. Another reason was that New Moon was shot in Canada and it would of cost them a substantial amount of money to fly me there and pay for everything. However, I did receive an e-mail from my agency saying that the fourth movie will be shot here in Portland and that I will still be considered for the part.

Any movie plans in the future?

Right now I’m really focused on finishing school, which if I’m lucky should be at the end of this summer. In my spare time I really enjoy playing ice hockey and snowboarding. Ice hockey is a huge part of my life, my grandpa was a pro hockey player and played for many different teams, including the Portland Buckaroos. After school, I’m planning on devoting some time on my acting career. Acting has always been a passion of mine from the time I was 10-years old. I think because of my sense of humor and goofy personality, acting has always seemed to just fit in with my way of life. I really feel like this is what I was meant to do.

Do you ever still get stopped on the street or mistaken for Robert Pattinson?

I have gotten stopped a few times. Actually, when I went and saw New Moon last week I got stopped. I thought I was going to disappoint them. You know, “oh, actually I’m not Robert, I’m just his photo double.” But they freaked out when I told them! They were so excited. Teenage girls are crazy.

I can't stop laughing about Kstew getting annoyed with him!

Hoping someone can help.  Edward is a high school teacher.  Bella is a high school student.  Edward is incharge of an extra-curricular activity of some sort (photography, newspaper) and Bella is part of his student group.  They are resisting their attraction.  Bella almost gets raped in an alley and Edward saves her....I first saw it on Twilighted earlier this year.  Ring any bells?  Thanks!

So the "Can we Talk Jasper?" thread got me thinking.

I could not remember a single time in New Moon when anyone's eyes were black.

I know it has been discussed before, and a long while back, that Edward's eyes weren't black when he visisted the Volturi, but I know that people mentioned he went hunting before. So, I consider that resolved.

But what about Jasper? (And then Alice when she can't handle it, etc.)

There had to be other times when the eyes should have been black... (Were there and I'm just failing to remember?)

So, what is your take on the black eyes mythos?  Are they only black when they are thirsty from long deprevation or do they darken rapidly (like when they feel the thirst or... other intense sensations.)

How did you feel about the black eyes in Twilight? About the lack in New Moon? (Good directoral choices? Bad?)

So WTVOC mentioned in her post about the Eddies and Bellies that there was a new Bellie introduced...The best Edward Who fic. She mentioned that there were a lot of requests for a Jasper/Bella fic category, but they couldn’t discriminate so they made it Bella/Anyone other than Edward. 

In this little indie number, shot in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kristen will be playing a STRIPPER! YES!

Should Breaking Fail Dawn be made into 2 films?? (WHY DO THEY FEEL THE NEED TO DO THIS?? HAVE THEY READ THE SAME BOOK I HAVE????)

ANYWAY, from Variety.com:

The two-week $481 million worldwide gross of "New Moon" has vaulted Summit Entertainment into the big leagues, but it also has created a high-class challenge for toppers Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger.

They will likely have to cut a few big checks if they decided, as rumored, to split Stephenie Meyer's final "Twilight" novel, "Breaking Dawn," into two pictures. Sources said Summit has set Melissa Rosenberg -- who wrote the first three films -- to finish the series, but Summit has to clear several hurdles before Rosenberg learns how many more scripts she'll write.

One of those hurdles is figuring out whether "New Moon" director Chris Weitz will respond favorably to overtures from the film company and the cast to shoot two more films, back to back.

Summit execs would not comment, but multiple sources said the company wants to go the two-film route, which means reopening negotiations and securing approval from the author. It also means making new deals with a principal cast that is only locked up for four films. If "Breaking Dawn" becomes two pictures, all of the key cast members will get fat raises, and the three principals -- Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner -- could land paydays in the eight-figure range.

That's what happened with key cast members when Warner Bros. extended its blockbuster "Harry Potter" franchise by turning J.K. Rowling's last book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," into two films that will be released in November 2010 and July 2011. The global success of the franchise made the paydays worthwhile.

While the solution to most of Summit's challenges will be determined by its willingness to open its wallet, the prospect of a Weitz return is more complicated.

After feeling violated by New Line's altering of his pic "The Golden Compass," Weitz said he felt redeemed and reinvigorated by the success of "New Moon." Yet, just before the film's release, Weitz was steadfast that he would next direct "The Gardener," a comparatively tiny film scripted by Eric Eason, with Paul Witt and Christian McLaughlin producing. At the time, he said Summit was in discussions to fund that film.

Summit hasn't closed a deal for "The Gardener," probably because the film company wants Weitz to postpone it and work on "Breaking Dawn" instead. Can Weitz resist the chance to finish a global franchise he helped build, even though it will mean more time away from his family for a long shoot? That's the question the helmer and his reps will weigh shortly. Though Summit hasn't officially made Weitz an offer, sources said the job is his if he wants it. After bringing in "New Moon" at around $50 million and keeping the cast happy, he's the logical choice.

So many people have mentioned that fic in the past week, and I am 2 chaps into it, but I still don't get the plot. The summary was very vague. I have a lot on my to-read list, and unless it's worth the read, I don't want to "waste" my time with it. Can anyone please tell me what it's REALLY about, spoilers be damned!
