Forgotten Fanfic

Sunday December 20, 2009 at 2:42 PM

Hi there, was wondering if anyone can help me with trying to remember the name of a fanfiction. I think it's fairly new and the premise was that vampires and wolves now rule the world with humans being caught in the middle. It's told from BPOV and in the first chapter, we see her finding refuge in a church after being saved by Edward who has become a vampire. There are flashbacks to Edward and Bella when they were both human and being best friends who became more.

It had some really nice dialogue and lots of potential. Hoping someone knows/recognises which story I'm talking about!

Twilight The Video Game

Twilight the video Game

We all know the process

If your book is a success:

1- Advertise

2- Make Big Blockbuster Movie

3- Make Sequel

4- Make Video Game

Am I the only gamer that would make fun of this? Most movie Video Games flunk anyway, so....

Who thinks SMeyer would jump the Twilight Money Wagon as well? ( Marketing anything and everything)

Rangers: Sorry if its not approved. If it isn't you can take it down.

Author ooohlalaaa deleted her FF account?

Sunday December 20, 2009 at 12:19 PM

So I was going through my alerts and noticed that a few of the stories by her were missing from the list. It apears she pulled them. It said on her profile if you message her she would email them to you, not sure why she pulled them. So I did message her, and she never got back to me. Then today I go on my alerts again and all the rest of her stuff is gone. I search for her profile and it appears she deleted her account. Anyone know what the deal was with that? She was one of my favorite authors and Im so bummed that A. I wont be able to ever read resisting Edward and seducing Edward again, and B. That bloodline will never be finished because that story was fucking awesome. So does anyone have any info I dont know about that? Sorry if this has already been posted here, I havent been on here in awhile.

Vexations

Sunday December 20, 2009 at 11:03 AM

So, I need to express and opinion and talk about something that puzzles me: Twilight is a love story. We all know this. It's about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. But honestly, the more classics I read, and I am fairly new to really understanding and LOVING the classics, to be quite honest, the more I think that Twilight actually sucks in its characterization and SMeyer got super lucky in her creation of Edward. Because really, it is HIM we are all in love with anyway. Not necessarily his perfection, there is that of course, but its about his IMperfections. He is a hateful creature, vile to his core and really, very very bad for little innocent Isabella Swan.

*But really, is she THAT innocent? She LOVES the book Wuthering Heights, after all. Does a young girl who reads like this and lives in her own world really act that way IRL and experience things as innocently as she does knowing what she knows of classic characters with all their foibles?

*That being said, why do we LOVE Edward? What is it about him, his character, his actions that we love? Is it his devotion to Isabella? Is it his turmoil? What is the perfect ratio that is Edward?

*Also, tell me about the classics you have read (or are readiong currently) that helped you come to the same conclusion I have come to or, as may be the case, the ones you have read that help you love SMeyer's work MORE?

I will answer below just as anyone else to each point I have brought up.

To quote the lovelies here:

Vampires

Sunday December 20, 2009 at 5:38 AM

Hello Everyone. Before Twilight came about, I never really was into vampires per se. I almost didn't read Twilight because it was a vampire novel. But now I feel like a new world/genre has opened before me. I recently just finished watching the tv show Moonlight and reading some more vampire novels. I have come to realize that there are many different types of vampire characteristics out there.

SO my question for you is...

If you could make up your own characteristics of your ideal vampire...what would they be?

Sparkle? Would they sleep at all? sleep on ice, in a coffin? Need a ring to walk into Sunlight? Feed on animals, be the bad guy?

well you see where I am going with this. Share with us you ideal.

to bribe the rangers and you all!

RANGERS: I hope this is ok? If not, I am very sorry and please feel free to take it down.

ranger edit: of course it's okay! vampires? check. twi-related? check. v.apropos, darling. i just corrected your spelling error. ;)

Area Code

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 10:49 PM

So, I was recently reading a fic where Edward hopped on a plane and came to my city.

I called area Hotels looking for Mr. Cullen/Masen.

Because I live in WA state, my city does come up. But only a few authors have done their research.

Tell me...

Have any fics you read mentioned your city? Did they get it right?

And while we're at it, show me a pic of your city!

My little town was mentioned in A Rough Start and Library Rendezvous (I wont mention the others)

And here it is

Jackson's bday party

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 8:21 PM

Celebrating his birthday Las Vegas style, Jackson Rathbone was spotted at The Bank at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino Resort on Friday night (December 18).

The “Twilight” stud, who turns 25 on December 21, looked to be enjoying his birthday party which was complete with a huge man in a banana suit cake.

In other news, Mr Rathbone and his band, “100 Monkeys,” recently released their new album titled, “Grape.”

Of “Grape” the Jasper Hale actor tells, “We wrote songs as we caravanned cross-country, we recorded songs standing in piles of pillows in the middle of a living room, and we worked with countless amazing people to make it all happen.”

“100 Monkeys” will be setting out for a 100-city tour the day after Christmas.

A Forks Reality Show Coming Soon??

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 1:28 PM

O_o

This just in from MTV.

Thanks to author Stephenie Meyer, the once little-known Western Washington hamlet of Forks has become a hotbed for "Twilight"mania. We already looked at how the franchise saved the small town from economic hardship. And documentary filmmakers recently turned their lenses on the logging community for the film "Twilight in Forks," which will be released on DVD alongside "New Moon." So it seems like the next logical step is a Forks reality show, right? Anyone?

A casting call has gone out for Forks residents (yes, you must permanently live in the town!) to try out for a proposed reality show, reports the Forks Forum.

Um, WAT?

KStew Sings!

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 11:47 AM

Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett in The Runaways

By now, I'm sure most of us have seen the teaser trailer for Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning's new film 'The Runaways.' Many of you have asked 'IS THAT THEM SINGING?'

Spin magazine can answer that question for half of the duo.

YES.

Kristen Stewart, the sought after 19-year-old actress the world knows as "Bella" from the Twilight series, has a new image: a badass rocker who breaks beer bottles, sings sexual punk anthems, and has a questionable hair-do. Get the first look at KStew -- and a grown Dakota Fanning -- in the trailer for The Runaways below.

But first, a little history for non-music nerds: The Runaways were a short-lived all-girl punk band from L.A. that broke up in 1979 after releasing a handful of successful albums -- including their 1976 hit "Cherry Bomb" -- and toured with bands like the Ramones and Cheap Trick. Stewart portrays Joan Jett, the quartet's co-founder and de facto leader, while Fanning plays vocalist/keyboardist Cherie Currie.

The trailer for the film (out March 19) starts with some hyper-dramatic narration ("In 1975, rock was a man's world. Until…"), then segues into the juicy bits: KStew getting rowdy, throwing a chair and hurling a beer bottle in a recording studio, telling the story of an out-of-control band hooked on rock's excesses (read: drugs and sex). But that's not even the best part. That comes when Stewart sings. Yep: the revamped music of "Cherry Bomb" features lead vocals from the vampire-lover herself.

IDK, it sounds an awful lot like the actual song. However, Kristen DID do some singing in Into The Wild, including one of my all-time favorite songs, a cover of 'Angel From Montgomery.'

WHAT DO YOU THINK, CAMPERS?

LETTUCE PLAY GAME!

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 11:22 AM

I am bored.

I gave up on waiting by window for Jasper Hale to come and re enact Rapunzel with me only a little more mature and pondering on whether the common cold was contagious via internet because I am always thinking of you guys quite sometime ago.

Now I want to play game with you guys :)

Lets call it....

Twist The TwiQuote For The Laughs

And here is how it goes...

I will name a quote from The Twilight Saga. For example:

"If we had happy endings, we'd all be under gravestones by now."

~Rosalie Hale, Eclipse.

With that quote, I will ask you to add a funny twist to it. For example:

Rosalie: "If we had happy endings, we'd all be under gravestones by now."
Bella: "If it makes you feel any better, you might have ended up a pile of ashes in an urn."
Rosalie: "Go to hell, Bella."
Bella: "See you there."

Not very funny. But still. Do you get it now?

Rules:

 • The person who originally said it in the books must stay the person saying it when you put a funny twist on it.
 • You can bring whoever you want into the funny twist. It doesn't have to be the person who it was said to in the books. They don't even have to be there.
 • There is no limit on how long you make the funny spin.
 • You are not allowed to make the funny spin AU. For example: Making Edward human.
 • You have to state which book it has been taken from.

I think that is just about it. Now. You are allowed to choose any quote you want as long is it from The Twilight Saga.

Are you ready? Go.

EDIT: Thank you jennyfly for fixing the repeat posting mishap :)

Saturday December 19, 2009 at 8:53 AM

Do you have to like a character as a person in order to like them as a character?

I know that I, sometimes, am like "Yeah- this character is complex and interesting and well written, but they're also a total tool. I don't want to read about someone I don't want to have a beer with."

Which is weird. I'd read about Stalin but I would run the other way if I met him in person.

But maybe its just fanfic. Fanfic is a guilty pleasure, and in ff land, I want all my characters to be approachable and awesome.

What do you think? Can you read about a Bella/Edward that you would hate in real life? Are you more lenient with some characters than with others? Like. I can read about a douchey Edward, but give me a slightly bitchy Bella and I flounce immediately.

Stalin was a hot ass young dude. And look at that sex hair!
