can't help it, I have to know.... Why do you guys HATE Breaking Dawn SOOSOO  much? Or at all really? I have seen so many people on here that I have developed respect for say that they hated it, and I just can't understand why.

I know I'm not that picky as a reader, so maybe I missed some horrible mess, but I felt like she gave me everything I ever wanted in that ending, except sex... And that is precisely how I found FF! LOL;)

According to In Touch Weekly, sources have spotted Pattinson entering Gossip Girl TV star Leighton Meester's NYC apartment.

I'm shaking with rage right now!

I always knew that Russian Twilight-related sites and forums are kinda lame and avoided them. But today I registered at one of them. I started looking through fanfic translations and guess what I've found? An unauthorized translation of Wide Awake. The rules of that forum clearly state that a translator must get the author's permission for the translation. When posting your translation, at the head of the post you should write smth like: Permission of the author: Gotten. But at the head of that Wide Awake translation was the following message: "The author was informed about the translation twice. We haven't got an answer. So we are not to blame and we are not going to delete anything". They are quite aware of the fact that AG posted a following note on her FFn profile: "!! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SENDING PM !! I do not wish to have Wide Awake or any other story translated. I sincerely thank those who offer for wanting to take the time to do it, but I truthfully am not comfortable having it translated into something I can't read and verify on my own. Now, I can't STOP you from translating it. I just politely ask that you don't. Take it or leave it."

I started asking moderators questions, none of them was answered. First they asked me if I was Angstgoddess's representative. Then they told me it was not my business and called me a troll.

People! WTF is with world???

Voting closes Friday for the contest that asked you for hardcore angsty one-shots!  If you love angst,  you really do have to check it out, here.  The judges picked their top 20, but you guys get to pick the best of the best angst!  So go and vote!

My one-shot Passing Afternoon made the top 20, as did our own Feisty Y Beden's Satellite.  (ETA: Also ericastwilight's From Within These Walls!)  Did any other campers enter this contest?  Come say hi and let us know who you are!  

I really encourage everyone to go read and vote!  And while we're on the topic, tell me your all time favorite angst fic, one-shot or otherwise.  When you really want the heartfail, when you want to feel the knife twist, where do you go?  Personally, I re-read Someone Else's Memoirs any chance I get, but tell me about yours!

Twilight unfinished

Twilight Eclipse opens in June. But the film isn’t ready yet.

Multiple sources have confirmed to me that some key scenes need to be reshot including footage between “Bella” and “Edward” in the meadow and a few fight sequences. They’ve been waiting for weeks to confirm dates but have had to work around Robert Pattinson’s schedule. Originally they needed 7 days but now, due to his other commitments, it’s been proposed that they work for 3 days with the crew putting in 18 hours each day. This should happen in Vancouver in the new few weeks.

What’s more interesting is WHO would actually direct the reshoot. David Slade is the director for Eclipse. But I’m told that apparently David Slade’s relationship with Summit has been... not great. Creative differences. At one point things had supposedly deteriorated to the point that they were actually considering hiring someone else to reshoot in Vancouver. Some of the names tossed around? Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke. Hardwicke is in Vancouver working on another new film to go in the summer. They’re looking at delaying that project and Hardwicke has been spotted undercover checking out studio and location space for the Eclipse reshoot.

Having said that, Slade and Summit are now communicating on better terms. And there is still a good possibility he could come back to Vancouver to complete his film. As of Monday, no final decision about a director had been made. Will keep you posted.

so, i'd like to take this opportunity to remind/inform y'all of a few things.

• those 9 flashy-flashy icons up top?  those are your rangers (moderators).  if you click on one of their icons, you can message one with any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions.  or just to tell them how amazing/sucky they are, idk
• the forest is a place to discuss anything twilight-related.  we don't censor you unless you turn mean.  that is to say- personal.
• every month, we invite authors that get voted on by the rangers to become forest VIPs.  if you have suggestions for who you'd like to see with their own VIP cabin, page a ranger.  or leave a comment here!
• if you want to post something not-twilight-related (say... "what are your favorite beauty products?" or "what real life books do you read?"), please ask permission from a ranger first.  if you're unsure... page a ranger.  i'm almost always around, js.  and i always respond via twitter.
• the forest has special posts on dedicated days of the week: a post to rec/pimp your own fic on tuesdays (tuesdays, right?  omg i forget), and friday is free-for-all in which you may post whatever the eff you want.

Since you read twilight (and time has passed), has your perspective on the characters changed?

I remember finishing Eclipse and literally being depressed.  Me.  Seriously.  I can remember going out ot ply golf with MrH after consuming the 3 books in 3-4 days, and being almost sick to my stomach and totally hung up on the concept of Edward Cullen as Byronic Hero.

But time passed, and my perspective evolved.  As I read more, I found myself finding Edward less and less appealing.  I am not Bella-like in personality at all (if I had to compare to anyone, I'd be Kate) - and I would probably have sent him to Italy myself along with Rose (so I could have Em).

So - the point of my long ramble - has your perspective changed from the first read of the book? Did you go thru 'the funk' as I called it? And does your heart still belong to Edward (be quiet Jandco - we know your answer :) or has it changed?

I was just checking out some pics and something kind of hit me.

What if Robert Pattinson had been cast as Mike Newton?  Now hang on, just stretch your mind and think on it.  (Don't go with the  whole "but he has to be baby-faced," etc...  Angela was supposed to be six feet tall and nerdy, too, and the actress who plays her is petite. AND gorgeous! lol)  And let's say he is an incredible actor and did a great job with the role to the point that wow...we totally believed in him as Mike.

How would that work for you?  Do you think there would be a slew of fanfics wherein Bella winds up with Mike?

What if, say, Chace Crawford (just bringing him up because I saw him on a website in reference to a Footloose remake) was Edward Cullen instead?

What if Anna Kendrick had landed the Bella role?  And so on...

I'm just wondering about the effects on the fandom, more than the movies. LOL  And I am in NO WAY casting aspersions on any of the actors involved. I was just thinking, well, marketing and image, really.
