First of all, I'd like to say that I'm not pointing fingers or anything, I'm not criticizing anyone but I just want to understand. PLEASE DON'T FLAME ME but...

Seeing all the MOTU hate and campfires I've been wondering...

If I ever write a AH fanfic, then turn it into original fiction  and it gets published, will you hate me?

Because sometimes I don't really understand the hate: as a fic MOTU was more or less loved (I think?) and now that it's a book... not so much.

Maybe the fandom was a test subject, maybe not, but we'll never really know. But there are so many wonderful fanfics in this fandom, with all the AU and the AH, some of them I consider as good as Original Fiction. You change the names and the descriptions the author used to keep it fanfic and you get a great novel. If one of these authors pull and publish, gets lots of money AND their fiction gets turned into a movie? I'd be happy for them.

Ok, in this case, the books' value in my eyes is not as much as the author got, but still... I can't really blame a woman for accepting so much money to sell these books/fanfic -words she wrote- and their rights.

Why do you dislike the author/the books/all the talk about them?

One of my faves even though she is a slow updater. 

We've had several fires lately about birth control and access to women's healthcare.  

It turns out that the FDA is currently taking public comment on what drug classes to move toward Over The Counter status.  If you feel strongly that this category of drugs should be moved to OTC, now is your time to be heard.  There is no guarantee of success, but it never hurts to express your opinion.

They do specify that,  "All comments should be identified with Docket No. FDA-2012-N-0171, document number 2012-4597."

There was an article in Bloomburg News about doctors petitioning the FDA to do this.  I'm sad at how little news coverage it got.  

I don't intend to start another politically motivated debate, please don't hurt me ;)  For me this is matter of logic.  If I'm considered smart enough to diagnose and treat a yeast infection, manage my reoccuring heartburn, or deal with my nicotine addiction, I'm certainly smart enough to use once a day birth control without a doctor's guidance.  The new guideline for Pap screening is every 3 years-so that is no longer a reason.

Have you ever read a fic that just made you cry? Or depressed the heck out of you?

I remember a little while ago I read House Of Cards by therunaway1 and it was so angsty it literally not only made me cry but got me depressed. I had to stop reading it because I was getting so into the characters and I felt so emotionally attached and just wanted to jump in the fic and help them out. At first I was going to stop reading it but I am not one to give up. I carried on. It was worth it in the end, but it really affected me.

Has a fic ever affected you like this? Either got you sad, angry or maybe very happy? If so, what are they and were they worth it in the end?

(Oh and a side note, sorry if its effect and not affect…Im a history major in school, not English lol)

I've finally caught up with Fringe and really want to talk about what has happened in the past few episodes. However, I don't want to ruin it for anyone watching that might have missed something, so topics will be inside!

Now, I realize most of you have probably already read this years ago but I just picked it up yesterday. So glad I did. I have literally laughed out loud so many times and I am just now halfway through. I just wanted to express my love for this fic. It is so funny without being a comedy if that makes sense. I am a little sad that I am so behind the times and now there is no one really to discuss the fic with. Which is way I usually read WIPs but as I mentioned yesterday in the Completed cf, I am nursing a newborn and reading bunches so catching on completed fics that were "before my time," as they say.

So to make this interactive, do you read older completed fics or stick to more current stuff? (I am almost getting nostalgic at her an's even though I wasn't apart of the fandom at the time. Odd of me, probably.) Do you review way old fics? I haven't reviewed yet because I wonder if she'll even see it? Maybe just the final chapter.... Idk.

Driven to Desire – A Twilight Anonymous UST Challenge
