I just finished reading the hunger games series and immediatly started looking for post mockingjay fanfic.

so while fic diving I found this little gem, I'm still reading it but wanted to share it with you:

I started two new things this weekend that I never thought would. First, I have subscribed to the newspaper, the actual paper version, but just on Sundays – for the coupons. I never saw myself as a newspaper subscriber before. My grandparents yes, me no. But it turns out to be cheaper than printer ink lol. Second, I have started reading a Civil War fic, My Wounded Soldier. Nothing against period pieces I just didn’t imagine that I would personally find them interesting. Aliens with tails sure – Civil War fics, doubtful; but I was wrong.

So imagine my surprise when receiving my first Sunday paper to find this on the front page after having just started My Wounded Soldier the night before!

How coincidental or is it ironic? Grammar queens help me out here. I know fic reflects rl all the time but this is just… Obscure! It still has me a bit surprised because I surely have never given any thought as to whether or not my hometown was occupied before.

Another thing that got me was how similar the wording was from the diary snippet included in the article to the counselor’s writing in MWS. This just validates her skill in my mind – not that she really needs validation.

Honestly, it did take me a couple chapters to get used to the writing style but it was worth it. Really, it felt good to have to put forth some type of effort to read a fic. Don’t get me wrong I love the escapism factor in fic but a challenge feels good to the brain every once in a while too.

For the interactive factor, what fics have you loved that you never thought you’d even read? Are there any truly out there ways that you have seen fic reflect real life?

And of course I am rec’ing My Wounded Soldier by counselor 1866 Edward just home from the war. Neighbor Bella has a tragedy and Edward delivers her baby. Seeing as she's widowed, marriage makes sense. He doesn't feel worthy, but he can't step aside for her suitors. Competition amongst veterans. When I saw Cabin in the Woods last night, I caught a glimpse of The Host teaser. I started reading it a couple of years ago, but ended up having to put it down, and consequently never picked it back up. I think the idea is pretty interesting, definitely not original, worth a look.

What do you guys think? Have you read the book? Do you think the movie will be any good?

I'm off work from April 23rd-May 5th and want to know if anyone if up for a roadtrip or a local concert. Driving is no problem for me, anywhere from Florida, Alabama, Georgia or NC. Anyone got any ideas for fun? Doesn't have to be music, any good times will do.

According to Twiligt Italia there is a letter from Bill Condon to the fans telling that part of the cast, including Robert and Kristen, will convene in Vancouver to reshot some scenes. - No dialogue, only some technical shots and the participation of stuntmen.

He adds that there will some time before the new trailers and new posters that will not look like anything we have seen up to now ...

Who knows more?

Does it bother you?

I find that it bothers me more when Edward keeps regularly appointments with random prostitutes than when Bella has a terrible life and finds no other way out than to be one.

I still have a hard time reading fics about escorts etc.

I also know people around here tend to be very lenient towards Edward.

So i was wondering what you guys think about it. And to bring it a bit to real life, how would you react if those circunstamces were happening to you or someone you know? Cause we are all more forgiving in the context of fictions.

My rec, i try to rec fics with less reviews, this author has been on twilighted for a long time. But finally she moved to ff.net.
