Help finding a fic..?

Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 2:40 PM

Hey everyone! I'm looking for a twilight fic where the author describes it as  a different take on Edward and Bella being each other's personal brand of heroine... They meet through the rest of the gang at a bar where they immediately know they will be together. They literally cannot be apart from each other; trying to be apart ruins their lives as much as being together does. I can't find it anywhere! Help would be much appreciated. Thank you! My recommendation is Written in the Stars by Lissa Bryan- http://m.fanfiction.net/s/7502401/1/

Fic Diving 8-6-13

Diving Deep for Fan Fic Treasures

Each week I will brave the treacherous waters of Fan Fiction for untold treasure. Below are the trinkets I've found this week!

This week I read 13 and found 4.

Please read, review and let them know you found them here on ADF!

Enjoy!

When Day Ends and Night Begins by PuppetStrings19

Bella & Edward were childhood friends, before her mother took her away from Charlie right after their divorce. This story takes place when Bella moves back to Forks, is a new student at Forks High School and see's Edward for the first time in over 10 years. There will be some teen angst, sex, drugs and alcohol abuse. And there will be some lemons in the future. AH/OOC.

Angsty with canon elements. Slow burn.  Frequent updates.

My Five Daughters by tea4tulips

Edward is a single father of five daughters living in New York. Bella is a southern girl who applies to be their new nanny. Perhaps she'll be able to help more than just the girls. AH. Daddyward. Fluff. Future lemons. HEA.

Fluffy, cute and fun.  Just getting started.

Supercliche: Manhood of Steel by ThreeHotPotatoes

Can a superhero with his head in the clouds put his heart on hold, or will the good citizens of Forks pay the ultimate price? That's all we have, people-well, that and a pledge to include some really hideous cliches along the way. Up, up, and away!

Drabble. Silly, funny crackfic. Confusing at first, but the author gives a quick explanation in chapter 4. I usually don't read things with less than 10k words, but I'm curious to see where this goes.

If Not Now by FlubFlub

Four years, a failed marriage, and a little boy later, DaddyWard and MomElla live life in comfortable companionship for their son. It gets complicated when Edward realizes he wants more than a friend and ex-wife in Bella.

Formerly married B & E. Frustrating UST. Just want them to get together already, but I guess that defeats the purpose of the story. This one gets my gold star for the week.

P.S.  Thanks for all the love for this campfire!  Believe me, I think of all of you when I'm wading through the riff raff!  I'll keep diving til I find something!!

Welcome to the Monday Morning Hot Guy Campfire. What better way to start your week than a hot guy?

Every Monday, I'm going to dedicate a CF to the Hot Guy of the Week. The catch? The CF can ONLY be about the current nominated guy.

We all have different tastes in men, so please don't yuck anyone's yum. If you have a man you'd like to see crowned for the week, PM or hit me up on twitter (@ffcherry) with his name.

Name Your Best Go-To Cheats

Sunday August 4, 2013 at 7:26 PM

To cap off this absolutely wonderful past week, Murphy's Law took me to court yesterday:

It completely, utterly skipped my mind that I had promised to meet my dear friend's mother, visiting from far out of town, for dinner and a show last night. By the time he called to tell me where to find them, I looked at my watch and saw I had exactly 30 minutes to get dressed, get flowers, and get all the way downtown, over a hundred blocks away. Yeah.

Did I mention we had a pipe burst in the late afternoon, and that water was cut off in the entire building?

So, to the point of this post: I had to cheat. Everything. Fast.

No water for shower. Slut bath with Wet Naps? Check. • Baby powder for hair I can't wash? Check. • Fix underarm stains on only semi-decent dress not at the dry cleaner's by dabbing it with vodka? Check. • Drink more vodka while telling myself, "I can do this. This will get done." ? Check. • Spraying myself with Febreeze - figuring the worst I'll smell is like laundry - after dropping my nice perfume on the bathroom tile? Check. • Holding up my arms in front of an air conditioning unit to dry my boozy underarms? Check. • Grab leggings & boots to hide legs I can't shave or wax? Check. • Take a black Sharpie & cover boot scuff marks I haven't fixed since last winter? Check. • Fumble around, snap belt buckle prong by yanking too fast... then tug yellow plastic pull string from a Hefty bag for belt, making me look like some sort of neon, urban Cossack folk dancer? Check. • Accidentally pop not one but two buttons off from silk jacket meant to close over yellow plastic Hefty bag belt? Check. • Grab three pearl earrings for pierced ears, use as new "buttons" for jacket? Check. • Paint nails in back of careening cab, holding them out the window to dry? Check. And checkmate.

My Question for You

What are your favorite cheats? What are your tricks for getting something done a different way - especially when time, or luck, or even money may be running short? (I know that Bella usually just grabs a hoodie and pulls her hair into a ponytail, but I'm guessing you have been more creative when you've had to be.)

I'd love for you to share any of your regular - or emergency - cheat fixes.

I know there are a lot of contests going on right now... but this one is special.   And it's anonymous this year.

To be interactive: What are some of your favorite stories from previous years?  Any questions about this year's contest?

Watching any good TV?

Saturday August 3, 2013 at 5:31 PM

I've been watching this:

While I like some reality TV, I'm not a real fan of shows like Survivor or Biggest Loser - a drug rep told me about this show and it intrigued me because they aren't doing it for money.

Naked and Afraid : Discovery Channel

Naked and Afraid takes "survival of the fittest" to the next level. Each week, a new pair of complete and total strangers - one man and one woman - will find themselves stranded in and, quite literally, exposed to some of the world's most extreme weather environments. Each duo will be left high and dry with no food, no water...and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full 21 days, with nothing but one personal item each and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment.

In Naked and Afraid, these brazen and bold couples will get acquainted with each other and their new surroundings very quickly, forcing them to question and test everything they may think they know about their acquired survival skills and instincts.

Will the nude castaways have the brains and brawn to endure the harsh conditions? Or will the challenges prove to be overbare-ing? Watch as each couple battles the elements, each other, and their own inner weakness to see who will triumph over the terrain or fail under the force of nature.

So, what are you watching?

And the two will become one flesh...

Friday August 2, 2013 at 6:25 PM

I've always thought how great it would be to read my favorite his-n-hers stories with the POVs integrated.  Imagine reading Art After Five and Counterpoint (or The Submissive and The Dominant) with Bella and Edward's perspectives side-by-side.  Since each story covers slightly different events, it wouldn't be that boring rehash that many other fics have.  As much as I've thought about this, I have never taken the time to attempt it.  I'm wondering -- has anyone else tried this?  And if so, can I have a copy?

So of course, my recs have to be these oldies-but-goodies:

Art After 5
Author: sleepyvalentina PM
Bella Swan had life figured out until she met sixteen-year-old Edward Cullen. A few months and an intense emotional connection later, she finds herself on a journey toward self acceptance while questioning everything she'd previously accepted as true.

Quote Missing

Friday August 2, 2013 at 3:58 PM

Hi everyone!

I was just browsing my notebook where I write all the quotes I like in books and films. I found a quote that is bugging me because I know it but just can't seem to place it. I think it's from a fanfic but who knows...

So since it's free for all I thought I'll ask you guys with a pretty please:)

"I'm no expert but I would think that when you love, you love everywhere and anywhere."

So, anyone?

I'll rec something too just because I think you should check it out:

To Destroy

Author: walkingwithgiants PM
In the words of Abe Lincoln, "The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend." Bella works for a man that makes her teeth grind. How to organize a TBR list?

Friday August 2, 2013 at 10:20 AM

Hey everyone!

So I need tips on how to organize the stories I have on my TBR list because right now, I just have one long list of potential fics needed to be read. I usually wait until a WIP is completed before starting, so I just have two columns: completed or WIP. But even then it's really long and kinda messy. So do you guys include summary in your list, or sort them by categories (AU/AH; tragic/angst/fluff/ that sort of thing)? Sometimes I'm in the mood for a fic, but just looking at my list is daunting and idk where to start. Also do you list them by order of interest or is it random?

Thanks!
