This is our weekly CF picture post! All levels of photographers and non-photographers are welcome to join in! I'm in the second category but I love sharing and seeing our fellow campers' pictures of their daily lives, especially if they live somewhere completely different from me.

This week's theme is The Great Outdoors. As always, I leave you to interpret that as you please. So, you can share pictures of your flowerbeds, your neighborhood, your favorite beach/hiking spot/place to watch the sunset or sunrise, your favorite park to hang out with your furry friends etc.

Below is the sunset at a West Coast beach where we go camping every year.

I will add next week's theme here later on in the day. I am open to suggestions for our weekly themes and have been writing down all previous suggestions. If you missed last week's CF, check it out to see what our fellow campers look like!

So -- this week is National Suicide Prevention Week 2013 (With today, September 10th, being National Suicide Prevention Day).

To Write Love on Her Arms is a wonderful charity focusing on depression, and the prevention of suicide and self-harm.  The theme of this years' week is "You Cannot Be Replaced"

I wanted to post this to raise awareness of suicide/mental illness, as well as this fantastic charity.

To make this somewhat interactive, I challange everyone to think about how much they bring to the table -- how much you cannot be replaced in the lives of your family, friends and loved ones.  I'll share my story in the comments, and I'd love to hear yours if you're comfortable.

Edward takes the phrase "Love Hurts" to a new level when he attempts to get ready to join the dating world again.

Complete drabble. Good quick read. You see where this is going very quickly but can’t look away. Made me cringe and laugh at the same time.

NOVA by cupcakeriot
The early 27th century - a young omnilinguist gypsy girl who creates visions with her li'lute, an alien bio-weapon struggling with his control, the Federation starship Nova, and how their lives intertwine.

Good Sci-fi read. Spock-like Edward. I’m not a Star Trek fan, but the author explains any Trekkie terms. Not a crossover, but has a few Trekkie-isms tossed in for fun.

The Space Between by AshesAshes83
After twelve years away, Bella's best childhood friend reappears in her life and turns her world upside down. Is Edward the same boy she secretly fell in love with all those years ago, or has his big life changed him in even bigger ways? This story consists of short chapters that are rated R-M for adult themes, bad language, and dry, sometimes raunchy, humor-possible lemons.

Only 4 chapters in, but I like this one a lot. E & B reunited. Quirky, funny, OOC Jasper.

The Celestial Guide to Eternal Love by AngelycDevil
He's always been different. Something happened to his brain before he was born. He's clumsy. He's a genius who can't talk to a girl. Until he was told that "she" will be coming into his life. His missing piece. And then he saw her... AH. Drabble. Mostly fluff.

Complete Drabble. Sweet Edward with Aspergers. Not sure where the last outtake chapter fits in the story, but worth the read.

Fate, Love and Second Chances by Nightviz
Tragedy brought them together, perfection seemingly found between two imperfect beings. Bella is a nurse, Edward a firefighter-paramedic, both are in need of a miracle. Friendship grows into love, but a misunderstanding changes everything, and an already broken Edward hits rock bottom. Can they rebuild their lives together through the complications caused by their mistakes?

I believe someone put this in the What the Fic? Campfire earlier in the week. I second that recommendation. I love when we have authors who have a specific skill set, know their stuff and share through fan fic. In this case, the medical field. Love learning how people in these field work and cope. This Bella has a little twist to her. Angsty.
 

Flashback Fic Dive:
The Fallout by OCDIndeed
March 16/06 the world the Cullens knew ended. Faith, hope & love are powerful things. Edward finds out how powerful they are when he loses the one person who made his life worth living. Not just an E/B story. Entire Cullen clan is here, each with their own hardships. Set during a post-apocalyptic nuclear war. Try the Prologue before passing judgment. You might be surprised! NM/AU Complete

Futuristic Vamp-fic. This one took forever to finish, but I loved every minute of it. Angst. Our favorite Twi-characters spin into an emotional downward spiral, that nearly does them all in. Love Garrett and Nix. :)

I have Amazon Prime, where I can borrow a book for free once a month from their library.  I admit I haven't been taking advantage of this lately because there haven't been a lot of books that I want to read included in their library.  I tend to borrow e-books from our county library b/c they have a lot of new releases. 

Anyway, I'm wondering if authors get any kind of reimbursement from Amazon when we borrow their books for free?  The reason I ask is that I saw the new book, Odin's Murder, by Kira Gold (In.a.blue.bathrobe) and Angel Lawson (EZRocksAngel) is being offered for free to Amazon Prime members.  Will they still get some sort of commission if I only borrow it?  I'd like to be supportive of original fic...

I'm a wee bit drunk and bored being a wee bit drunk with my snoring husband who can't hold his drink. Let's get silly for cocktails, like right now. Or yesterday. I want to get happy. Whose in? (Or is it Who's in?) Meh-who cares!

I'm drinking Cosmos. They're not my favorite, but I have cranberry juice, vodka and Triple Sec and I'm not going out, cuz, as stated, I'm a wee bit drunk.

This week's recipe request...drumroll, please!.....

Main-Dish Casseroles!!!

As opposed to veggie/side-dish casseroles, which is the subject of next week's recipe request campfire :-)

I have a love/hate relationship with casseroles- love them because they're quick and easy to prepare, and generally can be made pretty cheaply. But hate because most of them have cheese as a main ingredient and I hate 90% of all cheese (cream cheese and spicy nacho cheese are the exceptions)

Get to posting campers. If you have pics of your casserole then feel free to post those, as well. More to drool over, yes?

The campfire title comes from a relative who said that when he went to school back in the 60's, everybody hated 'Tuna Surprise' Fridays in the cafeteria- when the lunchroom ladies took canned tuna and whatever leftovers they had from the beginning of the week and cooked it all together. You never knew what you were gonna get. Insert pukey smiley here.
