Hello!  I was reading some old fan fic recently and I was wondering if  writers still read reviews for stories that have been complete or even abandoned for awhile.  Is reviewing an old story worth doing?  Thanks!

I think the title is 7Seven Days.  Edward is in the mob, Charlie owes him money, Bella agrees to stay with Edward for seven days.  Charlie finds out, disowns Bella for being a whore.  E and B fall for each other, but E is married.  Carlisle is a rival mobster and his son is James.  James is trying to kill Bella.

I think this fic just vanished, did it and what happened?

I hate the word slacks.  I read fics and the author writes something like, "Bella smoothed down the front of her black slacks" and I snap out of whatever happy world I was in and I CRINGE!!  The word slacks has actually stopped me from reading at least a handful of fics to date.  I know, it's insane.  I don't know what slacks are elsewhere, but where I'm from, they are made of nasty material and usually have ugly pleats.  I realize it is possible for them to be cute black hiphuggers or whatever, but my mind always goes to the bad place first. 

Go ahead and let it out here, what brings on your hate? In real life...that crack in your windshield, in fic...(note: things or general situations, let's not spew badness on any peeps, ok?), on the radio (annoying dj's), in books, in movies? What makes you flip out?  Is there a reason, or is it irrational, like mine?

Come on, let it out.

Because I am in the best city in the world - Melbourne Australia I can be the first to wish everyone at the Forest a very Happy New Year and hope you all get nice and pissed tonight.

I will be at home the weather is going to be hot so I will be lounging around our pool with extra teenagers at hand as well as a couple of friends.  Hubby has been working really hard the last few weeks so it will be good to see him relax as we both have the next 3 days off from work.

So I want the best of the best, angsty, funny , or dark. It doesn't matter. But they must be one shots OR completed short stories(10 chapters or less)

Okay, so, I'm can honestly say that I'm generally pretty picky when it comes to fanfic. I have hardcore fanfic ADD. I really only have ever followed 8 or so stories all the way through so far (and 4 of those are bratty_vamp's where I get her early chapters in exchange for sexual favors). The reason for this? I'll find  a great idea or premise for a story and dive right in...only to find that it's sucky!

Do you guys run into this? Where, the idea in the summary is good and you go "Oooh!! That's interesting!!" , but the execution and constant poor dialouge between characters ruins it for you only a few chapters in?

Basically what I'm trying to get at here is, I'm out of books to read right now for the remainder of my Christmas break and any awesome recs would be sweet. Something addicting and keeps me wanting more...

Ya know, twists on the original stories with a very bloodthirsty Edward....OR, maybe a good fic where its Breaking Dawn without the alien baby shiz...just, gimme whatcha got! :)

 I adore free entertainment. I use my local library, read fanfiction and I have been listening to podcasts for a few years now. So much so that I count some podcasts among my favorite things. Things that I subscribe to and try not to ever miss.

There seems to be a lot of these lately....

but I had a vivid dream last night about a fic I read awhile ago....

It was set in Troy time, Bella was a regular woman married to some guy and one day she sees a bronzed hair god-like man and of course falls madly in love with him.  But it turns out he's an oracle of Delphi or something like that and isn't supposed to be touched - only they end up going at it on the side of a cliff and he gets all cut up along his back...later she sees him buying slaves in the market place and at some point I think he goes to her house and they end up in her marital bed.  That part might have happened first, I'm not sure.

Anyway - can anyone remember the name of this one?  I'm not sure if it was multichaptered or just a one shot.

Uh, I won't even get into what my dream was about. 

EDIT: I'm an idiot.  It's by Nightshade (AKA RacketGhost on FF.net), For the Love of Traitors, available here in our lovely forest under Storytelling. I got several details wrong.  It was part of the Age of Edward Contest from over the summer.
