So I was at this group dinner the other night and the guy sitting across from me happened to be a reporter with the LA Times. It was a totally surreal experience, the stories he told were INSANE. now normally i don't really care much about celebrity culture and shit like that, but he started out talking about harry potter and how nice the kids are(someone asked him, he wasn't just being really arrogant or anything) and the sets and i mean come on. i fucking love hp, i was HOOKED. and somehow the hunger games came up in the conversation and he said they were casting it right now. and i was like WHAT? who who who?( i think i'm a fucking owl in my next life) and he told me they were thinking about casting the girl from Kick-Ass.

Now i'm not sure what to think of this. I mean, i haven't seen kick-ass but i heard she was good. but she's also only 13. I also don't think this is definite yet, but thats who he said they were leaning towards.

So what do you think?

Edit: oh i forgot. he also said that he interviewed Kstew (i had asked him about the runaways, cause i'm in love with that movie) and he said that he couldn't stand her, and that she was surly, petulant, and self-obsessed. which made me kind of sad, cause i think shes pretty awesome.

Another Edit: ok i think i made it sound too up in the air. this guy is like THE person who writes about movies at LA Times. he has been the only one allowed on several different movie sets. like the super secretive movie inception. he was the only reporter they allowed on set. if he is saying its her, i believe him. the only reason i was hesitant to say its definitely her is because i didn't press him on it at all. it just went like, who are they casting? that girl from kick-ass. and then the convo moved along. but really, he's reliable.

Maria(the lucky fan) says: Well....it all started with an email to the Oprah show. I just told her that the entire family were huge fans and if you came over and you were NOT a twilight fan then "YOUR NOT COMING". Where? We didn’t know. We just said your not coming to anything with us unless you were a fan. They apparently loved that line. So Sunday night they called and said that the show was totally booked but there might be a slight chance that we can pre tape something with skype. Now...she said a very slim chance. They were calling thousands of people. She asked me to send pics of my family. So in order to get their attention I thought I would be a great idea to take pictures as the “Cullen Family”. I waited all day on Monday to hear from them to see if we would be doing the skype thingy. Just when I started to give up it was around 10:30pm and they called. THE TWILIGHT PICTURES DID THE TRICK. They were so amazed on how my son Giuseppe looked so much like Edward. They told me to expect a skype kit to pre-tape a very short segment around 8pm on Tuesday night. They told me a hundred times “Sorry the show is full & we couldn’t give you tickets. So on Tuesday the skype kit came and I waited all day again for directions on how it was going to work. They called at 5pm and said we were going to do a practice run with skype and we would be live with oprah on the show in the morning. They told us do not dress up wear comfortable cloth because you will be moving furniture and it was just a test run. She actually told us to wear our pjs. At 8pm they called us on the skype cam to set everything up. We wasted about on hour just setting up the room. They kept telling me make sure all the blinds are close the camera is sensitive to light. (which now I know it’s because they didn’t want us to see him pull up.) They were asking random questions really just filling in time until I saw a camera crew through the small window on my front door and the people on skype heard me and said “go open the door” Well….that was it we all lost it. Screaming like a bunch of maniacs. Rosanna was crying, Giuseppe was frozen and everyone else was jumping a screaming. He stayed for about 10 minutes. Even though it felt like a week. And we just were all amazed that he was in our house. I told him me and Rosanna stalked him in NYC for the Remember Me premiere and he said “yeah I think I remember you” which was an obvious joke. I asked him is Kristen was here too and he said “well fine…I’ll just leave then”. Other things were said but I was in so much shock I cant remember. It is so weired. His lips were moving and I know he was talking but all I heard was wah wah wah. (kind of like snoopy and Charlie Brown). Then he told us we had tickets to the show. Again lots of screaming. He was great. So nice. Funny. And sooo tall. You was beautiful. I still cant believe it. So we went to the show and they had our names on our seats so we felt to privileged. Robert, Taylor, Kristen, & Dakota all sat and talked to oprah and then they showed the footage of him knocking on doors. He went to 3 homes in Naperville. We were the last ones. When he was leaving my house he said to the camera “I really want to stay and hang out at this house.” It was amazing. We all got a certificate to order Bella’s engagement ring from eclispe. The audience got to see the movie while he made his visit to our house. It is something we will never forget. Oprah & Robert was great but hearing my kids say “thanks for making this happen”……absolutely priceless!!!

This morning, i saw New Moon and it was like I was seeing Embry for the first time. I thought he was cute before but today something just changed and he became the new Jacob (for me).

NON-CANON-ATHON

Now, we all know how great Bella and Edward are together. Duh. What was Twilight about again?

We also know there are some die hard fans out there who want Bella and Jacob to get it on. Like in the tent. When they were spooning. And horny.

There are thousands of fics for these three characters, and a pool of fantastic, award winning ones. After reading so many Bella/Edward and Bella/Jacob fics, sometimes I just need something new.

So, I have to ask, what are the other pairings that you all enjoy so much?

Bella and some pack brothers? Yum. What are the fics out there that made you get into Bella/Sam or Bella/Paul (because that Alex Meraz is just too fucking hot). 

Bella and other Cullens? Jasper and his previously badass days? Emmett with his adorable dimbles? Dr.HotBitch? What's the next Get Me To You? Are there fics that can compare, or is GMTY IT?

Bella and some Volturi? Demetri, anyone? *swoons*

PETER? omg, there are some amazing Peter characterizations out there.

Others? James? *Gasp* I know, what the hell am I thinking? But who doesn't like the darker side to vampires?

Let me know! What stories got you reading non-canon? Which ones made you forget about Edward and Jacob and had you drooling over another character? Which stories made it OKAY for Bella to end up with someone else? Because, seriously guys, there are some AMAZING stories out there that give other guys a chance. They're well written and swoon-worthy, and yes, some are smutty as hell.

Some people are going to feel "what the hell, no way will I ever get over Edward and/or Jacob". But that's how I felt, too, before I came across these fics and realized that Edward is not the only one where you can write a great characterization for. Trust me. Give these a chance. They deserve praise.

Note: The fics I've chosen do not BASH Edward or make you terribly conflicted between him and the "other guy". Because there wil be no need to hate Edward in order to want other possibilites for Bella.

ALPHA FAIL by lifelesslyndsey, a Sam/Bella fic where a fuckhot Sam imprints on a snarky Bella. Cullens come back but it's not all angsty like you would think. Humor, romance, LEMONS HOLY FUCK THE LEMONS, completed. read everything by this girl. She's not afraid to experiment with pairings and she's married to the f-word.

The Hardest Part by LJ Summers, Bella/Embry "Winner of two Wolfpack Awards for Best Imprint and Most Original Plot, this is an exploration of the effect of an imprinting on an unsuspecting male, & how he wins the love of his best friend's girl."  You will fall in love with Embry along with Bella as he heals her from Edward's departure and fights to keep her safe and loved. When Edward comes back, you will cry a little, but you will be surprised by how easy it is to let him go. Read the sequels Becoming Whole: Bella's Moments and The Imperative (lemon!) and her surprisingly wonderful Leah/Charlie imprint story Never Saw That Coming

Beyond the Broken Scars by December.Eclipse, a Bella/Carlisle fic where Bella becomes a strong, independent college student after Edward leaves. The Cullens come back because Volturi and other vampires are embroiled in war, and Carlisle appears as her professor. Gah. Updates make my day.

The Orbiting Meteor by IdreamofEddy, a Peter/Bella fic where 3 1/2 years have passed since Edward left and Bella has moved on from Forks and with her life. Someone new brings her back into the world of vampires but not things are being hidden from her, and it makes it all more romantic. Peter is not like anyone you have ever met. He's a little broken but he's completely devoted to Bella, and you will literally squeal and gasp for breath when you find out exactly why that is. So well-written, so much more than just a "vampire/human" fic. LEMONS, LEMONS, LEMONS. Run to this fic. Now!

Rising Phoenix by Mrs. Meraz Whitlock, a Bella/Paul fic, where Edward leaves and Jacob convinces Bella to date him but then he imprints on another girl. Paul, fuckhot badass Paul, becomes Bella's left hand and gets her through the heartbreak. There's another legend, and it has to deal with these two, but it hasn't been told yet.

What's Lust Go to do With It? by my hubby is no edward, a Bella/Emmett fic where Bella is with Edward and Emmett is with Rosalie, but there is undeniable chemistry between Bella and Emmett. When they give into the lust, feelings change and the angst begins.

My Intoxication by Mandala Morgaine, a Bella/Jasper fic AU/AH: "I am cold. I am calculating. This is how I survive. No attachments, only the strategy... and the poison" Jasper POV. Out of control Jasper finds friendship in newcomer Bella Swan, but life takes a turn after he saves her life."

The Backs of Hurricanes by wingedraksha, a Bella/James fic "He didn't expect this girl, this girl who smells like God. Now, Bella is trapped in a new kind of game, and how do you win if there are no more rules? Bella/James, an alternate ending." It's dark and intense and completely different from anything I've read. Their relationship is messed up but it's what makes it interesting.

If It's the Beaches by Emibella, a Bella/Emett fic "Edward leaves Bella alone to deal with his black-sheep brother. A story about how sexual manipulation can turn your life upside down and how it can effect your relationships for better or for worse." Geezus, the angst. The angst because of the lemons. Lemons because of the angst.

Dark Whispers by Oriana de la Rose, a Bella/Jasper fic "Bella and Jasper are siblings suffering years of abuse. In the fury of the moment, Jasper kills their father, and they run to NYC. When Jasper starts to express more than just brotherly love for his little sister, things turn twisted. DARK AND EXPLICIT." Holy shit, I feel naughty and dirty for reading and recommending this. 

Nemesis or Savior by IwantaWerewolfForMyself, a Bella/Jasper fic "Years ago,Jasper left the Cullens to deal with his bloodlust. He's too ashamed to return to them with red eyes. One night, he saves Bella and takes her with him. Having a human girl as companion will change his life more than he ever thought possible.AU" Dark Jasper journeying with human Bella. He goes through a lot of the difficulties that Edward goes through. But unlike Edward, he's not afraid to give in. 

Serendipity by circe290, a Bella/Jasper fic "Bella and Edward have been best friends for years. When an old acquaintance of Edward's comes to stay with him, the complications that arise are compounded by the fact that they're all working at the Cullen's corporation, sometimes at cross purposes. AH" Conflicted, possessive Jasper falling for an intelligent, witty Bella. Their attraction is undeniable. You'll love Jasper and Bella, and you'll also love Edward as just the best friend. 

The Air that I Breathe by journey2002, a Bella/Jasper fic "After Bella's catastrophic 18th birthday, Jasper leaves, returning to the one thing he knows he is good at...war. Can he one day find the redemption he doesn't know he is looking for? Jasper/Bella Rated M for language and Lemons later. Drama and Romance". I've read many "Jasper meets Bella after Edward leaves" fic but this is by far one of the best. Bella grows up and she actually leaves the Cullens after realizing that Edward has been cuddling her. We're not completely clued in on the details yet. She's now badass and has a weapon that destroys vampires. She'll need it because Maria is gathering newborns and shit is about to go down. Yup. You're gonna love her. Jasper is working for the Volturi, because it's getting harder for him to leave her. 

Acta Sanctorum by Felicity Dream, Bella/Aro/Caius/Marcus (I know haha) "I GET OFF IN VOLTERRA CONTEST Edward left, Bella thought she would be stuck in an eternal twilight. But immediately, she’s haunted by three men she swears are vampires. And once they’ve ensnared her, the Cullens won’t be having a reprieve this time around". One-shot, well-written. Lemons will make you fan yourself. It's hot, and you're gonna love the descriptions for the three royalties. 

Love in the Mirror Room by forbiddenkisses, a Bella/James fic. "What if, on that fateful day in the ballet studio, James and Bella had realized they were intrigued by and attracted to one another? Is it Stockholm or destiny?" This is the story that got me started searching for James/Bella stories. Read past the first chapter, because it becomes hot and wonderful, and you'll find yourself wishing for a man like this James (I know. whowouldathought?) He's still snarky and conflicted and intense, but there is no mistaking the love/lust he feels for Bella. You'll also love Edward for his dedication to her but choices must be made. The LEMONS! *fans*

Once Bitten, Twice shy by lifelesslyndsey, a Peter/Bella fic. "Clinging to Angel ideals, trapped in a vampire body, with very human urges. He was very confused. Peter was an indisisive vampire with an identity crisis. Bella was jaded and self-isolated. In short they were perfect for each other. PeterXBella. Lang&Lem" Another great, snarky Bella who knows what she wants. An adorkable, virgin Peter who is a vampire and an angel. The banter will leave you breathless and waiting for more. 

Neverending Math Equation by twanza, a Bella/Jasper fic. "Based in Brooklyn. Edward & Jasper are brothers dealing with ego, passion and the pursuit of art. NEME is a love story of Jasper & Bella, a lust story of Edward & Bella, and a journey for all. *2010 INDIE TWIFIC AWARD WINNER/BEST LOVE TRIANGLE WIP*" This story owns me because of how well-written and intense it is. No cliches, nothing you would expect. complicated, unexplainable lust and love. You'll love all three of them but in the end, you can't deny the love between Bella and Jasper. If you haven't read it yet, shame on you!

Near to You by Caitlinlaurie, a Bella/Carlisle fic. Realitively new. "AU. Years after Edward left in New Moon, Bella has moved on with her life, now living in a small town. But when her path crosses someone from Forks, Bella must choose between the life she has made for herself and the one she is destined for." Bella has mentally and physically grown up. She's not bitter but actually content with her life in Maine; she looks back at her time with Edward with fondness for the "teenage boy" who was her first love. In comes Carlisle, and only Carlisle (because the family has split up and Esme is no longer married to him). It's fluff and love and I can't wait for more chapters.

Looks as if Kristen Stewart is going On the Road. And not just because she is doing publicity for the latest Twilight film, Eclipse, opening June 30.

As she told USA TODAY's Susan Wloszczyna today while in Chicago for an Oprah taping, "I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in On the Road. So that's a big deal."

Filmmakers including Francis Ford Coppola and Gus Van Sant have struggled for years to bring Jack Kerouac's classic 1957 tale of disaffected members of the Beat Generation to the big screen. Tron: Legacy's Garrett Hedland will play the confused drifter Dean Moriarity with Stewart as his young wife and British actor Sam Riley (Control) as his traveling pal, Sal. Brazilian director Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) will direct. Filming is expected to start this summer.

In the spirit of Eclipse coming out next month I went a re-read the book and I came to one conclusion.

Bella was really sexually repressed, wasn't she?

And this got me thinking... why did SM make her come off as someone really desperate to have sex. I just couldn't understand it. It's like... Edward is this century old vampire who's protecting his virtue like it's the last thing he'll ever do, and yet... Bella's this seventeen year old girl who's willing to just chuck her virginity out the window. I figured... Edward went through every freaking decade and saw/experienced so many different things according to that era.

Wouldn't it make more since that he'd be the experienced one? The one who wants to push for sleeping with her? I mean... just because he was mentally older didn't mean his body shouldn't have responded like it should have. He was a seventeen year old initially.

I just can't come to a conclusion on why SM would write them SO different. Why did Bella have to be the one pushing for sex?

I'd love to know your thoughts. Am I alone in my thinking?

EDIT: Edward's not gay for wanting to wait for marriage. He just confused me with the off-set to have sex.

Has there ever been a story that you just did not read, kept putting off, for whatever reason, until someone pointed out something about the story to you that got your interest? Something not in the summary that made you want to read?

I have toyed with reading "Earthquake" by the talented Ranger Jennyfly for a while, but had yet to do so for whatever reason. Until someone here mentioned that it's an older Bella/younger Edward (it was in a rec thread regarding Bella's unfair sexual history in FF). I believe there is no mention of this in any summary.

I have now made it my goal to start this story this afternoon, cause I admit that interested me.

So I have livejournal, I got it once in a fit of boredom and well now I don't know what to do with it

I want to use it, and I want to post all these little one shots that are clogging up my PC but don't want to clog my FF.net with them so my question is...

Question.... Do you ever dream of Twilight, or any of it's characters? (you know you have) If so, what's the craziest Twilight dream you've ever had? I don't know if this constitutes it or not, but I've had a couple of romantic dreams of Edward (of course), and I shit you not, every time, every fucking time, the second before anything happens, as if my subconscience just knows, cuz she's a demon bitch, my alarm goes off! And the one time, one time we actually start getting hot and heavy, my friend knocked on my window because he forgot his key! (he drops his daughter off in the mornings) I still haven't forgiven him for that. lol

I've also had plenty of different dreams. I had a dream once where I was Bella, and instead of being welcomed by the town of Forks, I was immediately hated, and school was awful. And there was no Edward.  : (

In another one, I fell out of a tree and broke my arm, and Carlisle put it in a cast. lol

So just wondering (cuz I know I'm not alone), what do your crazy Twi dreams consist of?

So most of you already know that members of the Twi-cast are doing Oprah (well not actually doing Oprah, that would be weird and gross, but ykwim).  They're actually taping *right now* from what I heard.  Anyway.... the Oprah show let the Twi-crazed audience see an early screening of ECLIPSE.  Here's a bit of reaction from around the web:

First, the trailers HARDLY give the movie any justice, which is always a great thing – you go in expecting one thing and leave completely blown away. This movie was by far the best and I have no negative comments on it. David Slade did an amazing job, his shots and fight scenes were amazingly done. By far the best yet. They stayed completely true to the book – this had the most direct and almost direct quotes andddd LOTS of making out!! Very Edward and Bella focused which was great! And the most exciting, Jasper was truly the breakthrough character of this movie. He was the most impressive and I loved that he had actual dialogue in this movie.

This movie will definately be more guy friendly, and the humor has stepped up big time! It’s not cheesily thrown in there like the crack of “guess the wolf’s outta the bag.” More edgy this time around. Sexual humor was tossed around too. I know all the Twilight fans are going to be amazed and definately not disappointed!!  Hope my little critique got you all excited for Eclipse!! I’m definately seeing it again when it comes out!"

So what do you think, Campers?  Do you believe the hype?  Honestly.... I'm not convinced...YET.  If the movie is great, I'll be the first to scream from the rooftops how much I love it.  But if it sucks and feels thrown together (which is the impression I have right now) then I'll be honest and say so.

Is it just me? Or is there faction of this fandom that will just buy anything Smeyer/Summit throws at them and they eat it up like it's gold?  There are just certain people/websites/etc that seem so overly enthused about anything Twi-related....they seem blinded by the fact that sometimes SHIT JUST SUCKS.  Idk....maybe I'm just too cynical before 11am.  Personally... I hope the movie is great, I can't wait to see it.....but I'm not holding my breath for BD.

Evidently Breaking Dawn is scheduled to release November 18, 2011...

A Summit Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to HitFix that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will open nationwide on Nov. 18, 2011. It’s still officially unknown if “Dawn” will be broken up into one or, as rumored, two films.  Stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all expected to return.

umm....expected?  You mean there's still a chance that they won't do it!!  LOL *fingers crossed*  And they're already anticipating a release date BEFORE filming, and BEFORE the three main stars are even confirmed to be in the movie?!?  Omg so funny!  LOL
