Taking a break at the hospital means going outside at 3a.m. so the patients don't literally hunt you down for narcotics.

Through Your Eyes ADF Photo Journaling Contest

RULES:

Contest runs from August 1 - September 3

If you want to play, YOU MUST POST on August 1st by 11:59pm Eastern Time.

There are no exceptions.

Each post must have a minimum of FIVE pictures

No pictures of yourself or a part of your body. (i.e. no pedicures, no hairstyles)
No pictures of your children or your pets.

The pictures are to be of the world as you see it through your eyes. Find interesting things.

Caption them and add a location (this can be vague). No photoshopping.

Each day, you start a new campfire with the same title as your first.

E.g.- Ranger Smith Goes Hunting

Tag each photo journal post with the Photo Journal Contest tag.

It's 4am, and I find myself unable to sleep... again. So, since I'm incapable of closing my eyes to a well-deserved slumber, I'm going to ask this question instead. 

It's not uncommon for me to be in a "writing rut" these days. More often than not, I'm tapping my fingers on the desk hoping something will inspire the words to pour out of me. Don't get me wrong - I have a plot, and I know which direction I should go, but lately I've been having trouble getting from point A to point B. I can't seem to connect them. Characters are just piles of ash inside my head, waiting to swept away to their destinies, but they're not going anywhere. 

My question to all the wonderful writers is how do you dig yourself out of this slump? How do you inspire yourself? 

Do you have a special technique, routine or general writing advice you can lend to the less fortunate?

Makes me want to check it out...and it's definitely not my usual fare. I like a movie that makes me think, but when the violence is too abhorrent, I can't do anything but cover  my eyes and cringe. Anyone seen a preview yet? Is the commentary worth the viewing?

Indie romance novelist Sylvain Reynard has inked a “substantial seven-figure deal” with Penguin Group’s Berkley imprint for Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture.

The book began as Twilight fan fiction, telling the story of “a sinful exploration of sex, love, and redemption” between a Dante scholar and his graduate student. Reynard had published with Omnific Publishing, a publisher “nurturing talented amateur writers into professional published authors.”

Knight Agency president Deidre Knight and co-agent Melissa Jeglinski represented Omnific Publishing in the deal with senior editor Cindy Hwang. Berkley will print 500,000 trade paperback copies of each book.

Omnific Publishing president Elizabeth Harper had this comment in the release: “These books transcend the stereotypical romance and take readers on a deep and moving journey that will stay with them forever … We believe that romance readers, who are primarily women, are intelligent, creative, sensitive, and complex, and books like these honor these qualities in those readers.”

Just thought I would share as some people might be interested. I find it pretty weird that TWO twilight fanfictions have been picked up by major publishing houses.

What are your thoughts? Will you be buying a copy of this book? Do you think it will be as big as FSoG? I'm interested to know if the reworked version differs much from the original fanfiction.
