I'm posting twice in one week, which might be annoying, but I'm legitimately struggling with something.
I recently found a really amazing story that I love. The writing is superb, the plot is heart wrenching, the characters are beautiful...
But I'm not a big fan of the author herself. I'd never heard of her before I started reading this story, and she's never done anything to me personally. Her author's notes seem a little arrogant, but even that isn't really enough to put me off of a story.
My main problem is the fact that she publicly degraded another author's stories in one of her author's notes. I don't really wanna say too much, but she basically said the ladies' writing was a bunch of crap and all her stories were awful.
I'm all for constructive criticism, but that's just hateful.
It's kept me from favoriting/alerting/continuing the story, and I just wanna know if I'm taking it too seriously. Maybe it's not a big deal, but the fandom seems to be getting more and more people like this, and I don't wanna condone cruel criticisms like that of stories people have poured their hearts into..
I'm not posting the name of the story, or the author. This isn't a hate-fire, it's just something I'm really trying to figure out.
Have you ever had a situation like this? No name, no story summaries, no title, no nothing. Again this isn't a hate campfire. It's the oppposite actually.
If this gets out of hand, or a Ranger thinks it might, I'll have no hard feelings if it gets deleted; I debated putting it up, but I really wanna hear other people's thoughts.
