Day 20: The day the 2 year old dropped my iphone in the kitchen sink full of hot soapy water before I uploaded pictures to photobucket.

Rice bowl. After I took this pic, I realized I should remove the pink case so it doesn't block any of the potential absorption, so I dug it out and removed it. I will report back in 24-48 hours. FINGERS CROSSED.

my Internet, phone and DirecTv services were suspended sometime while I was sleeping because the Ex went a few months passed due on the bill. So, all I have is the limited 3G that my iPhone has on my network. So unless I find a wireless fairy for my home computer or whatever, I can't post photos from my phone. But I have them. I'll see what I can do because I don't want to be out of the contest. FYI- Verizon sucks and won't turn my new service on until a tech can come and inspect it even though I'm using the same stuff I already have that worked yesterday. So I won't have service until Friday. P.s. I can't even proof read this in source so excuse the mistakes

So today was the first day of city of bones filming and i have been glued to tumblr all day so come inside where i willbe posting pic from the set as they pop up

So, I honestly haven't been reading much "new fic" lately, for many reasons. I've been busy at an internship all summer so I didn't really have time, and then I was trying to finish another book. I tell myself those are the main reasons, but I also know the big reason. 

The lingering fear in the back of my mind that the fic is going to be deleted before I can even finish it. 

For a long while I stopped reading WIPs all together because of the delete-fic-apalooza that seems to be going on over at FF.net constantly. I know there are other sites to read stories on, but FF.net to me is just easier because the majority of stories are posted there and then I don't have to keep track of checking multiple sites for updates.

Over the weekend, I found a completed fic to read. Lo and behold, there was a sequel, and of course I had to read it (I really loved the first part of the story). This sequel was a WIP, but I decided to take the risk and read it because I loved the first installment. It just so happened that after I caught up to the final posted chapter of the sequel and added the story to my favorites, THE STORY GOT DELETED. The author posted a note on the end of the first part of the story (that was not yet deleted) saying that she didn't intend to finish the story or post it elswhere. I was incredibly sad, but she gave her reasons for not wanting to continue with the story. 

I completely understand the author's frustration and decision to not repost, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing for me (and her many other readers) who were wrapped up in the middle of this story and wanted to see it finished.

I just want to know, has something similar happened to someone else? Does it just make you want to give up on reading WIPs all together? Do you think I should gradually start trying to read stories not on FF.net? 

Also, do any authors who have had stories deleted want to give a little insight into what goes on in your mind when something you have put so much work into gets deleted?

I can't remember the name of the one I first one I ever read but I read it before Breaking Dawn came out and it finished the story far better than Meyer did. I wish I could remember all the details and find it again.

How do I pimp my fics? How do i get a beta?

What advice would seasoned authors here give a newbie like me?

Im writing mostly because I would like to improve my writing skills and through fics I would get critical advice mainly for free lol

Basically any advice you think is relevant to someone like me is welcomed

Rec: "In the Debris"

I tried to read BD again, so it would be somewhat fresh in my mind for the movie. 

Yeah, no. 

I really hated it, y'all. 

It's been said before, and I'll say it again -- it's like badly written fanfiction ('specially with that POV change. And to JACOB!? WTF?) from someone who didn't really know the books. 

My main problem is the mutant spawn that is Renesmee. 

   A. She shouldn't even exist. SMeyer's explanation of why female vamps can't reproduce was this: Vampires bodily functions stop when they are changed. Making eggs is a bodily process, therefore no babies. I don't know if she just lacks the basic concepts of Biology or what, but making sperm is also a bodily function. Js. 

   B. She wasn't even cute. She had none of that baby sweetness to her, because she came out half grown. It's hard to fawn over a newborn when they're like, 25. 

   C. She didn't seem like Edward and Bella's kid. There wasn't a whole lot of bonding going on in the books. I think she called Bella 'mom' once. And did she ever even call Edward anything!? Dad, Daddy, Pop, Papi, ANYTHING!? Cause that's what would have been sweet! In my opinion, she seemed like Rosalie and Jacob's kid. 

   D. She was an imprintee. When a baby is that little, part of the magic of it all is that YOU are #1. No one compares to you. Edward and Bella's time as her superheros was all screwed up by creepy Jacob. 

I could continue (all the build up for fights that never happened, Rosalie is the devil, Alice leaving, bringing in 2953 new characters in the last 100 pages, ect.) but I wanna hear from you. 

Did you hate it? If so, why? If not, why? Any awesome AU/alternate ending Eclipse/Breaking Dawn fics you can recommend?
