Hello!!

I am just looking for any advice or tips from fellow campers that have done internships. I am currently in my senior year working on my undergrad degree in Human Services Management. Which is basically a mix of a business administration degree and a social worker. I am now in the process of interviewing with a few non-profits to start an internship for this fall.

Any tips on how to make sure I get the most of out this experience as well has helping the organization I work with gets something (besides free labor) out of it too? What not to say at an interview. Does anyone know of any website that I get some ideas on how to revamp my resume. I am coming from the military and my current resume is very technical sounding.

Yay, early FFA!

So, I've been growing my daughter's hair since birth. It's long, curly and very gorgeous. I wanted it the same length so that it would be easy to put up in a pony tail or pigtails with ease. So I have never taken to her hair with a pair of scissors in the 4 years since I've had her.

Well, recently I needed to run some errands and took my daughter to my mother-in-law so that I could do them in peace. When I returned, I discovered, to my absolute horror, that mother-in-law took it upon herself to trim my daughter's hair, and decided to give her a Xena the Warrior Princess styled fringe (bangs to my US friends) because she thought my daugher would look nice in one. However, mother-in-law did not take into account the curling nature of the hair, and my daughter is now sporting 1cm of curly fuzz on her forehead and resembles Lurch from The Addams Family.

Mums, what would you say and do?

I'm wanting to hear your Mother-in-law horror stories. You know, the ones that have you grinding your teeth and thinking "What the.....?"  Make a woman feel better.

There was a campfire like this a couple of months ago that got deleted when the site got cyber attacked. With free for all here, I thought this was as good a time as any to start this up again :)

To campers with kids, younger siblings, younger cousins, etc...: share your "kids ask/ say super embarassing, jaw dropping, hilarious questions/comments. You know what I'm talking about-- Stork questions, what was that funny noise last night questions, funny anecdotes, the works. Just...anything that the much younger ones asked or said to you that either you couldn't answer out of embarassment, couldn't answer because you weren't expecting it to come out of a five year olds mouth, or simply made you mentally face palm.

Day Thirty — A Drive Through Tilden

I hadn't been to the Little Farm in ages before today.
When I was a kid, we would all pile into the car, hit the
grocery store for some leafy greens, and go feed the animals.
It's one of my favorite places in the whole wide world.

So here we are in the last days of summer...beachy times will soon be a memory. Start planning your winter getaways! We are soaking up the last of the lazy, hazy summer rays and waves.

While we are sad to see summer go, Autumn is a spectacular season. Football, crisp air, leaves changing, great new books and movies, HALLOWEEN-bring on Fall!

In honor of celebrating both the last days of summer and the fresh new days of the upcoming Autumn season, we are extending the forest's FREE FOR ALL beginning NOW and running through Monday, September 3rd. FFA will end at 8 p.m. EST.
