Took a ride through Berkeley today. It was overcast, but still pretty awesome.
Berkeley, just so you know, does not reside on the planet Earth.
It's like a portal onto a different planet where it's perfectly okay to sleep in trees,
smoke the reefer, and question each and every authority you come across.

Welcome to Day 31!  An afternoon stroll on the waterfront...

So I work as an office manager for a lawyer, been there 8 years. This year basically has sucked for me. My mother died in February, my youngest daughter had to be hospitalized for depression in May and she's still struggling. I got a bunch of grief from my boss this week because she thinks I've been taking too much time off. She thinks I should count the three days I took for funeral leave AS VACATION TIME.

Now, I'm happy to have a job, but I have never heard of anything so draconian in my life. 

So I have to poll you guys. Got a full time job? What's your emplyer's policy on sick leave/ funeral time/ family sick?

Know somebdy who wants to hire cause I'm about done at this place.

I was just over at Youtube looking at musicvideos and started thinking of my favorite movie scenes. Val Kilmer in Tombstone was epic so I thought I'd share this scene, one of his finest acting jobs.

What are some of your favorite movie scenes?

So a while ago I read a fanfic of which I dont remember the name it was from luvrofink it was about Bella in high school having a romance with Edward who was a teacher, he dumps her and she move to Seattle, years laters Edward is still not over her and when he finds her in an art class thought by her in her coffeeshop he asks for another chance.

It was not completed before it was pulled.

If someone knows the title of this fic or where I can find it please let me know.

What products have YOU found that have ridiculous marketing?

You know what I hate? When a product I enjoy is either discontinued or becomes scarcely available. Like this guy:

I love that this neutralizes odors and doesn't smell like anything. Now all I can find is fresh linen or pine or lilac. I can't even get this brand at my local drug store anymore. I've gone through this with various scents at Bath & Body Works too.

What products do you love and can't get anymore? Any success in replacing them?

...of the streets of (East) London & Essex

So there are some pretty crazy user names in this here community, and I'm wondering how many of them have meanings, are abbreviations, a random orgy of letters and numbers, etc.

Mine, for example, is kind of from The Queen starring Helen Mirren. Prince Phillip's nickname for the Queen is Cabbage, and I just love it.  I'm first-generation Canadian with a British mother and grandparents that bore a STRIKING (and scary) resemblence to the Queen and the Prince, and I grew up surrounded by British culture.  I honestly call an umbrella a brolly without thinking about it. If I do something rather British, such as ask for a spot of tea, my husband will call me Cabbage because it's a ridiculous name. There is something about elderly people having nicknames for eachother that is adorable.

So what inspired your ADF name? Any dirty, kinky, sweet, funny stories? I'm home alone tonight so keep me entertained!

and I realized I am COMPLETELY make-up and beauty supply illiterate. I don't know what is good quality. I mostly wear cheap make-up from kits I buy around Christmas and Cover Girl True Blend.
