Hi Campers!  I'm filling in this week for the lovely april09 :)  We're heading off on a Scavenger Hunt.  The things you're looking for are:

Feel free to interpret the prompt however you'd like - it doesn't have to be wedding related.  Maybe something new you'd like to bring into your life this year; something you've borrowed from your MIL and never returned, lol!!

Sorry, I am now officially on break from college, work and all family obligations for a few days and I can't for the life of me remember the name of this fic or find it.

It was about Bella being kidnapped by the Cullens with Jess and Lauren. Bella is chosen to be Edwards and she is locked in his basement for a time until she can accept it. There is an attemped escape from Lauren and Jess by I think poisening the Cullens dinner. Edward clocks Bella with a gun at some point and brands her foot somewhere in the story. They are on some ranch or farm.

My rec is Dodge and Burn by abstract way-->He assumed Isabella Swan was eccentric, yet that very fact intrigued him. He hadn't dealt with a compelling person, sensible or colorful in quite a while. She just seemed ripe with possibilities to be anything but mundane.

Please help! I'm sure this fix got lost in the fanficnet purge. Edward is a wolf and a leader of a pack that's dying out when they come across Bella who is in heat. Bella is a scientist and ultimately finds a cure to this issue with werewolf fertility. I believe the story is called "Heat" by PrincessRachael. I am dying to get my hands on it!

Like many other campers here in the forest, I'm facing some really cold temperatures in the days to come.  Last I heard, where I live we're looking at -20F with windchills 20 or 30 degrees colder.  

Personally, I have no plans of leaving my house for the next couple of days (if I can help it).  I'll be inside trying to stay warm.

So tell me fellow campers, what warms you up? (If you can't think of anything specific, just post pics of hot men, that always works).  :-D  

I like to drink lots of HOT tea in the winter.  Barry's Irish tea is my favorite, with lots of Oolong, green tea with lemon, and Constant Comment for variety:

PS - For those of you who also live in areas expecting cold weather like we haven't seen in more than a decade, please be careful out there!  And also, don't forget our pet friends who are in danger from the cold too.  

I thought I might make use of the FFA and ask you for some good fics. Like... I really need something good to read.

What's the best angst fic you've read? Do you actually read the angsty stuff or rather more of the happy/funny stories?
Worst angst? (Broken, oh so broken beyond repair...) Why did I even ask for that?

I've noticed that it's possible to post content on Amazon (Kindle words, right?).

Do you know if it's possible to post fanfics, to make them available for free (download on Kindle)? This way, any author could make a "book" with the fanfic, with images and so on, ready to be downloaded. Since FFnet doesn't allow the option "copy" and, as far as I know, Flag fiction can't download from FFnet anymore, it would be a solution to get fanfics on our e-book readers. No p2p, just a different way to make the fanfics available.

Good stories in the world of Twific are hard to come by. Great ones are even harder. I used to turn to the Discerning Ficster blog for all my recs, and when they stopped, RobAttack. So I was saddened to hear that the 'Fic Six' are no longer doing weekly recs on the site. Whilst I didn't love every story they mentioned, I have to give them credit for introducing me to some amazing reads in 2013, including the goddess TheFicChick (of 'Departures' fame). Now that they're gone, I'll be desperately searching campfires and favourites lists on my quest for decently-written fanfiction.

So you tell me - where do you go to find good fanfics? Who do you trust to consistently point you in the direction of well-written Edwards and Bellas? Or should I give up now, given the severe lack of updates and authors left and right pulling their stories for p2p?

What is wrong with me :((

I've decided to stop whining about Twilight ruining me for any other movie (book/fandom, even music, see: Muse), so I decided to do something about it, and start watching movies. I actually need to find something to help me with stress, as I'm going to have a breast MRI soon and I'm kinda worried about what the results will show. Firstly I decided to try a chick flick, Friends with benefits. No. Just no. Then I went for the original Edward Cullen, and gave Man of Steel a try. Oh dear. Zero chemistry with blondie (why was Lois a blonde anyway??). Russel Crowe would have looked much hotter without a beard. Then I tried The amazing spiderman, where the chemistry was much better (real life couple and all), but it felt much more like a teen movie.

HOWEVER, I did go to watch Gravity, and, much to my surprise, I really enjoyed it. Loved the rebirth idea. Maybe I liked it to much because I'm a mother, and it dealt with a mother's worse fear? idk.

Anyway: 1. Happy New year to you all! Let's hope that this year will be (even) better!

              2. Anyone with different opinions on the aforementioned movies, feel free to express them! Also, any recs are more than welcome. Even if I don't like the movie after all, it's still a distraction.
