I just saw that the third angelfall book comes out this week! i remember someone here in the forest discovering the first one early on and encouraging us to read it. what are some books you've enjoyed that you wouldn't have come across if not for the fandom community?

I'm going to be posting this every two weeks, with advance notice of what we'll be reading. That way you can go and re-read or maybe even read for a first time if there's a classic you've never read. I have to confess to not yet having read The Blessing and the Curse.

In particular, I'm keen to have some recs for vampfics, because I don't tend to read them and so don't know what the classics are. We could also consider some classic non-Twilight fics, although I don't want to tread on Batman's new CF toes (one should never upset a superhero).

Also, what makes a classic? Can a fic ever be classic unless it has a large readership?

SO, ahem, I was thinking - dangerous I know,

ETA: If we all chip in, and rec other fandom fics, then it would be much easier. I've already gotten some fics that I found and I will continue to do so, but if people could rec what they have found themselves it would work better I think (and save me some much needed time). Then we could just refer to it as another rec campfire. And that way, it wouldn't have to be once or twice a month, it could be weekly.

I'm still willing to look - but if you find something, rec it in my post and we'll see who else we can get on the site. :) (And if you do rec something, tell the author that they can come on over - we want to be welcoming since we're reccing their work.)
