Ello-PET POST!

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 5:17 PM

So, it's my first campfire. A bit nervous, but I'm taking a chance. :)  Don't I feel so cool? Maybe I'll be in with the cool kids now. :D

Anyhow, there was a reason for this. I was writing my fic, and she has a dog. I started thinking about and if you notice that ALOT of the fics have no pets. I mean, obviously I'm sure that a lot of people have pets. I myself have 2 cats & a dog. I was very surprised that basically NO ONE in the Twilight Saga had pets. Or at least I don't remember any. Do you? :p

Soooo, this leads me to my point. Well, two. For one, do you have any fic recs that have pets in them? Not centered, though those are good, but just regular fics with pets in them.

And, if you want of course, post a picture of your pets. :) I would post mine, but I don't have a picture. I'm not attempting to stand up and go get one either. ;)

Okay..I guess that's it...don't shun me away. :)

Letters Unsent (Sort of on topic?)

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 3:00 PM

I'm listening to wwwwaaaaayyyy too much Dashboard Confessional and thinking about New Moon.  A dangerous combination.

You know when Bella sends all those emails to Alice's ghost email address and she's just rambling on about the emptiness of life?

Well I do that too.

I write letters to an EX about gray winter days like today....

I write letters to my Dad about how things are since he passed....

I write letters to my family, ranting and raving or offering compliments I'd never say aloud...

Soooo...who would you write a ghost letter to?

Song recc? Company by An Horse. It's just me right now.

- I'm not nearly as melancholy as this campfire suggests.  :  )

SMeyer is dead?! Uh huh. Sure.

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 2:48 PM

Just had to post this to laugh. Oh, and of course, grieve.

Yeah right.

The author of the Twilight books, Stephenie Meyer was found dead in her Phoenix, Arizona home. The 36-year-old mother of three may have overdosed on prescription pills. Several yet unidentified pill bottles and a suicide note were found nearby. None of the contents of the note have been made public. Sources at the scene indicate that Meyer was believed to be deceased approximately 36 hours prior to the discovery of her body by her husband of 15 years.

Rumors of a deepening depression have been circling around Meyer since the publicizing of derisive comments made by fellow author Stephen King in late 2008. Though these rumors, and whether they contributed to Meyer's apparent suicide, remain unconfirmed -- there is little doubt Meyer's countless adoring fans will begin to point fingers in King's direction.

What may prove even more disturbing to Twilight fans is that Meyer's shocking death has come prior to her completion of the fifth book in the Twilight series, Midnight Sun. Although Meyer's spokesperson has not yet commented on today's news or on the status of Midnight Sun, the book -- a portion of which was leaked on the internet last year -- is said to still be a work in progress despite Meyer publicly stating the project was on hold indefinitely. Whether or not Midnight Sun will ever see the light of day is now in question.

At this time Summit Entertainment still has plans to release two new movies based on her books,New Moon on Nov. 20 and Eclipse on June 30th, 2010. Both are sequels to the blockbuster hitTwilight starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Meyer left behind her husband and three sons Gabe, Seth, and Eli.

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 12:24 PM

In case you haven't heard, jennyfly posted a new story called River Dam for Capricorn75 and DeeLovely

Title Summary: Edward bides his time in Forks counting the days til he can leave the sleepy town forever. But fate halts his departure, and he must learn to see Forks as a home instead of a prison. ... This story is the result of a prompt FROM THE WINNING BIDDER OF THE SUPPORT STACIE AUTHOR AUCTION. Well, the winning bidder who bid for me. The prompt, if you're interested in looking it up is the song River by The Boss.

jennyfly has revealed that she collaborated with a secret someone once this story took shape, and she asked for help regarding a particular topic.  jennyfly has also told us that she will not reveal her partner until it is polite to do so.  She says, "Sometimes alliances must be kept somewhat hidden from the public-at-large for the greater good."

That doesn't mean we can't take a guess!  Different authors' names flash through my brain everytime I think of the possibilities.  I've decided I'm going to guess someone new each and everyday until we find out.  Do you want to play this guessing game with me?  Who do you think is jennyfly's Special Guest Collaborator??? and Why??

maybe mods a ranger can help me tag this, and embed jennyfly's cabin. pretty please with sugar and cinnamon ala snickerdoodle.

And the band played on...

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 10:21 AM

Hi Campers!

I was just rocking out to some Pearl Jam, reminiscing about my teen years and the times when Anne Rice's vampires were the ones everyone was talking about.  That got me to thinking...

Which musical era do you think exemplifies each of the Twilight characters?  We all know Jasper gets associated with country-rock, Edward with classical piano....yawn.  What if we leave the stereotypes behind?  Is it possible?  If not, why not?

For example, I think Edward could have really gotten into some self-flagelating grunge!  And Jasper would be down with norteno for sure!

What do you think?  And is there a fic that you feel embodies the musical aspect the best?  I know I just yawned about Edward and classical music, but I love Philadelphic's La Canzone della Bella Cigna.

Thoughts?

Eclipse in IMAX!

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 9:57 AM

IMAX Corporation and Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the studio's "Twilight" franchise, will be released to IMAX(R) theatres simultaneously with the film's launch on June 30, 2010. Directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of "The IMAX Experience" with proprietary IMAX DMR(R) (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie. The film franchise is based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer.

"'Twilight' moviegoers will have a whole new way to experience this next installment of the series, with the enhanced image and sound quality of 'The IMAX Experience' putting them IN the movie," said Richie Fay, Summit Entertainment's President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution. "The IMAX release puts us on the event film calendar for 2010, and we're very excited to work with IMAX to bring a new kind of film to the IMAX theatre network."

"Our 2010 film slate continues to fill out with strong titles, and a film from this incredible franchise is a very welcome addition," said IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond. "This title fills a valuable spot in our 2010 summer release window, and will no doubt thrill IMAX audiences."

"We're very excited to work with our new partners at Summit Entertainment to transport the very loyal and enthusiastic 'Twilight' fans into the world of the Volturi via The IMAX Experience," added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "With our growing theatre network, we're poised to take advantage of the rapidly growing fan-base devoted to this dynamic, cutting edge series."

In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

I am SO there! Can you imagine Rob in super brilliant HQ? yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

"I am single"

Wednesday December 9, 2009 at 9:52 AM

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Robert Pattinson once again denies rumors he's dating Twlight co-star Kristen Stewart in an interview with Italian Vanity Fair.

"I am single... almost everything that came out about my private life is false."

So why all the chatter??

"I think it happens because, really, there is not much to say about what I'm doing. While I am filming, I live practically [like a] recluse in [a] hotel. I come out only to work, and sometimes to go out for dinner. But, if you read the magazines, it seems that I have a frantic high life."

The latest rumors churning out of the mill??
Pattz has been linked to Lovely Bones star Saoirse Ronan after showing up at the movie's L.A. premiere.

Robert Pattinson ’signs $500m Twilight TV deal

2009/11/22

London, Nov 22 (ANI): British actor Robert Pattinson is said to have signed a 500-million-dollar Twilight television deal.

Summit Entertainment, the studio that makes the monster-hit film franchise, is branching out into TV production, and bosses want Pattinson to reprise his big-screen role as Edward Cullen.

The 23-year-old actor could land as much as 1.5million-dollar an episode as part of the deal, which could kick in as early as next year, reports the Daily Star.

Pattinson’s co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays his on-screen human love Bella Swan, is also wanted by the bosses.

Both the stars, rumoured to be real-life couple, would be free to work on the TV version almost immediately as they have already finished working on third film in the series, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’. (ANI)

Why I Didn't Like New Moon

Tuesday December 8, 2009 at 8:05 PM

First post and I’m going to jump in the deep end.  :)

I didn’t like New Moon. I didn’t go in expecting much and I got exactly that. I give it a solid “meh.” The CGI for the wolves was not bad. And Taylor Lautner did pretty well. I was really glad they didn’t try to make him look seven feet tall. But for me, the whole movie seemed to lack energy.

I didn’t feel the angst like I did reading the book. The story was the same, that was good, but the deep, devastation that Bella was supposed to be feeling did not come through. Nor did the intense relief and confusion that was supposed to shine through in her reunion with Edward. The good new is that there was no chemistry between Jacob and Bella in the movie just as in the books. Too bad there didn't seem to be much between Edward and Bella either (most of the time.)

Is this because Bella plays so mellow all the time that it’s hard to tell? I don’t think so. Frankly, I thought Catherine Hardwick was just able to get way more range from the actors. Maybe there is something to the fact that it’s a mainly women’s phenomenon… and can someone please explain why are dudes directing these things?

I also didn’t think the score was nearly as compelling as Twilight's. It didn’t draw me in. The music in Twilight did. As a saga I was hoping that they would use the score to tie it all together, (not just the font on the movie posters) to give the movies a feeling of continuity. I was disappointed that they didn’t.

The highlight for me was Jessica Stanley’s post movie monologue. Genius. But that should not have been the highlight. There were just so many other things that should have overshadowed that.

Am I the only one? Don’t let me drown! :)

YAY! MORE PAM

Tuesday December 8, 2009 at 3:33 PM

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Eric's sidekick Pam on "True Blood" is getting a promotion.

Kristin Bauer, who plays blonde vampire Pam, Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) wingwoman at vampire bar Fangtasia, has been promoted to a regular on the HBO series.

Bauer had guest starred on Alan Ball's vampire drama for the first two seasons, appearing in a total of 11 episodes.

Ball recently hinted that may have a meaty story line in store for Pam for Season 3 when she may get into a lesbian relationship.

Bauer, who most recently co-starred on the CBS drama pilot "House Rules," is repped by the Paul Kohner Agency and Kritzer/Levine/Wilkins/Griffin.

It's a busy casting time at "True Blood," which started production on its third season last week.

Denis O'Hare and Marshall Allman have been tapped as new regulars, and Theo Alexander and Grant Bowler as recurring, with a slew of other roles yet to be cast.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW SEASON! ARE YOU?

RPattz curse?

Tuesday December 8, 2009 at 3:11 PM

Is Robert Pattinson's sex appeal so utterly overwhelming that he's capable of destroying relationships just by co-starring with someone?

The New York Post reports that Uma Thurman, who's scheduled to share the screen with Pattinson in the upcoming romance flick Bel Ami, has split up with her fiancé, hedge fund manager Arki Busson, making Busson the latest in a long line of victims of what many (okay, so far, "we") are calling The R-Pattz Co-Star Curse.

The earliest recorded instance of The R-Pattz Co-Star Curse (copyright pending) occurred early this year, when Gentlemen Broncos actor Michael Angarano, who had been dating Pattinson's Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, suddenly disappeared from Stewart's life with the swiftness and completeness of a Soviet dissident.

But this was just the beginning of R-Pattz's relationship-wrecking streak. Back in June, as she prepared to film the romantic comedy Remember Me with Pattinson, Lost star Emilie de Ravin announced that she was parting ways with her husband of three years, December Ends thesp Josh Janowicz. And thus, a pattern emerged.

And now, with Uma Thurman's breakup, The R-Pattz Co-Star Curse has reached out to crush yet another formerly happy relationship.

If we were The Wrestler director Darren Aranofsky—who's engaged (for now anyway) to Rachel Weisz, who'll be co-starring with Pattinson in the upcoming historical drama Unbound Captives—we'd be pretty worried right now.

Then again, given that Aranofsky is currently preparing to film an angry, aggressive sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, he might have already mentally checked out of that relationship.
