Hey there fellow campers. A friend of mine has just finished reading the twilight saga and is asking me for some fic. There are like 10 fics I immediately wanted to tell her to read but most of them are AH or slash and I figured I should ease her into the world of fanfiction.

So, got any good recs? Something Canon for sure. Maybe something picking up where BD ends? Maybe a good what-happened-during-the-fade-to-black-on-the-honeymoon fic? What fic would you suggest someone start out with?

Jenn and Tor are back from jetting about the United States and Canada for the past few weeks.

They had one hell of a trip.

I couldn't even begin to explain how much fun and trouble they got into and I don't have to because they do a brilliant job of describing their wild and crazy trip in this week's episode of "Dancing with Jenn and Tor!" Here is a brief glimpse of their trip in pictures (and no-I am not kidding)

So, New Moon took #2 at the box office this weekend. I was expecting it sooner or later. I guess I just didn't expect The Blind Side to take first so soon. It seems like the momentum for this movie has grown since it premiered.

I guess my point in posting this is to discuss viewership. How many times have you seen it? Did you go recession-proof status and see a matinee?

I've seen it once. I saw it the Saturday after it came out and I've yet to see it again. It sucks when your paycheck comes late.

Can someone explain something to me?

In New Moon, when Bella and Edward are outside the school on Bella's birthday, why does Edward say hes 109 year old?!

I mean, first of all, they should go off how old he is in the book New Moon. But even when you go off now, he would only be 108 years old... I think.

Please tell me if I've worked it out wrong... And then, if your feeling nice enough, maybe you could explain how it works out... :)

And by minor, I mean characters that are not Bella or Edward.

Do you know any good stories that explore their canon characters? I can think of three: Ithaca is Gorges, Amputated at the Neck (jasper), and But Inside I'm Screaming (Jessica). Other than that, I'm drawing a blank.

I think Alice, Esme, and Emmett have to have a bucket of issues. Does Emmett ever feel insecure that he was changed simply cause he reminded Rose of someone from her past? Does Esme appreciate being saved when she was trying to kill herself? And Alice- god- how did she function as a newborn with no memory and no sire? I imagine her as a female Mowgli from Jungle Book, only she's running around post-Reconstruction Mississippi instead of swinging through the jungle. That couldn't have been easy.

Tell me about your favorite notBellaorEdward characters. Tell me why they are interesting, and what you wish you saw explored. Rec me some fics that deals with their past or their struggled with vamphood.

So there I was looking for a completed fic to read and stumbled upon a story that really interested me.  I was hooked immediatly and could not stop reading it.  I became obsessed with reading it and completely neglected my chidlren.  I loved her Edward and the UST was perfect.  There was drama and romance and angst and a great secondary story line.  I was really loving it and then BAM out of left field it just started to suck, the writing changed, the characters changed and there were so many gratuitous sex scenes it was horrible.  I don't mind smut in my fics, in fact I really enjoy a well done scene but these were awful and gross and they went from having sex to buttsmex in like a day and it was truly awful!!!!  It was like the author gave up and asked someone else to continue the story.  I did finish it but it just sucked the wind right out of my sails.

Has this ever happened to you?  I am not looking for a story/author bashing campfire, just want to know if this happens to you and why you think the story went down hill

I don't know if it's just me, but I kind of feel like epilogues are overused in this fandom. If I read a cute, happy little fic, I don't feel the need to see Edward and Bella five years in the future still being happy and cute with two kids and another one on the way. I wouldn't say it ruins the story for me, necessarily, but it just feels... wrong.

How about you guys? Anything you do or don't like in an epilogue?

I am sure my massive obcession with Cascade and Cyanide is no secret, as I gush about the story and its fabulous author americnxidiot almost constantly. And my new found love for Emperors of Washington isn't exactly a secret either, as I am always rambling on about how gallantcorkscrews is a great author and really brave and so on...

Right now, I am undecided on what my favoruite is. Its kind of hard to choose. But without a doubt these are my two favoruite peices of Fan Fiction of the moment. So can we discuss them? :)

No dissing the authors and there fabulous stories. Or I will give you a papercut infront of Jasper. Be warned.
