I'm going on a field trip with the entire 3rd grade on Friday.    There's a 2 1/2 hour bus trip there and back.    I need a nice LONG completed story to get me through the drive.   A nice "Calgon take me away" story.    Hit me with your best shot.   I need some recs!

So, there's been campfires about who you'd like to play different characters from Twi before. There's been a campfire or two about what fanfics you'd like to see turned into movies. Now, I'm asking you this:

Pick one fanfic. Only one. That would would like to see turned into a film. Now that you've picked one, I want you to CAST it too. And to tell me WHY you picked that fanfic.

So please, humor me with this because I am very bored and am running out of reasons not to write. I'm interested in what everyone's picks would be - fanfic and actor wise. Plus I even went and made the post all pretty with different colors, not to mention the pretty below.

Umm...Hi, Campers!

So, I write some fic. Kinda underground, cult/indie type stuff you prolly haven't heard of. This is my first campfire and I'm nervous - sweaty palmed and heart beating like a hummingbird - so, be gentle? I am a virgin, after all.

I've noticed a lot of differing opinions from the lovely ladies on this site, and I wanted to pose a coupla q's:

1. Do you tend to search for fic or wait for it to be recommended to you? Either way, will a summary deter you from reading or will you give a fic a shot 'just to see'? Also, does it hinder you from reading if the story has a low review count?

2. My writing stems from life experiences...and I don't shy away from this fact. Does knowing too much about an author turn you off to their writing? Or does it draw you in more and make the reading experience more interactive? Does 'knowing' a writer outside of the direct FFN 'bubble' wear down the third wall and make you have less respect for them?

Anyhoo...that's all I have.

I've heard of him & his gang of holier-than-thou skeezy losers, and I've also heard that they are the reason why a bunch of our favorite authors got banned from ffnet and made a blog, or a livejournal account, or went over to TWCS with their amazing stories.

So, now i'm apparently being 'targeted'. But isn't t true that he isn't even a site administrator? That he can not dish out this so-called disciplinary action that he has threatened me with in a review? I am not sure what to do, as i was faced with this issue this morning. Do I withdraw my story from ffnet of my own free will, and leave an author's note up as a chapter, explaining what happened and letting people know that they can read my twific at The Writer's Coffee Shop or on my BLOG, or do I just ignore it? Does this Lord Klevin person have any damn clout? Can he get me banned for advertising TWCS in an author's note and for having content not suitable for those under 16yrs old?

What is your advice, cuz I sure as hell don't know what to do and I'm a little more than pissed about it.

I don't even remember how or when this started, but it has entertained me endlessly, so I thought I'd share, and maybe get some more great/hilarious ideas for recasting.

Recasting the entire Twilight ensemble in other films that is. 

Because seriously, the idea of a film like The Breakfast Club, but with Kristen, Rob, Jackson, etc. just cracks me up.

I would totally have Jackson playing Bender, and have Rob playing Brian.  Kellan as Andrew, Kristen would be Allison, and Billy Burke would be Principal Vernon.

Or how about Glee?

Can you just imagine Forks High School but Glee-style?!  Oh my god, the thought of Bella and Edward bursting into song, a la Rachel and Finn, just cracks me up.  Or how about Rose and Emmett as Quinn and Puck?

And Topgun?  Everything is better with a little bit of 80's cheese right?

I can totally see the Cullen boys talking about MIGs and wearing aviators while playing beach volleyball in supercheese beachwear.

One of my all-time faves, Star Wars.

Or even better, Spaceballs?

C'mon, you know who you want to cast as Yoda.  And I think Jackson would make a perfect Lone Starr. ;)

So, I see a lot of chatter on twitter, on reviews, on messageboards, etc, about how certain things/phrases/whatnot have become cliche. I.e..  Mushroom ravioli, Jeff Buckley, cores, chocolate orbs, Darlin', etc, etc, etc. (Yes, some of these are not in the "real" books).

But the question I have is where do you draw the line between canon and cliche? I mean, this is fan fiction, and we're writing based on certain aspects of the books we love.

Personally, I expect a certain about of similarities and borrowing from the books. And certain things/phrases/characteristics lend themselves to multiple scenarios, so it doesn't surprise me when I see it. 

What do you think? Shouldn't there be some holdovers from the "real" series? What do you often read that really is unecessary borrowing? Where do you draw the line? What things do you expect to read in your fan fiction and what things are you bored with seeing?

Twilight Counsel!

So for the last two years I have been obsessed, I mean OBSESSED by fan fiction. Read it morning noon and night. Was never happier than when i was curled up with my lap top and a packet of chocolate biscuits.

This is where the confused part comes in.

My love for fan fiction seems to have vanished. Now it's not that the fics aren't good they're as wonderful as ever. I just can't see to get into it any more. Even the fics i loved, I 've found myself just skim reading the latest chapters. I've tried fic requests campfires on here and apart from some one shots nothing really held my attention.

Now this is not a big deal I know, but i feel kind of lost without it. What did I do before i discovered the world of fan fiction. All those times when everyone was busy I'd be quite content on my own with my latest fic.

So my question to you is. Anyone else gone through a fan fiction downer? Will I come out the other side? What the hell do you do on nights when ur other half and all ur friends are busy????
