Let's Go To The Beach, Beach...

Saturday August 4, 2012 at 3:39 PM

I leave next weekend to go on vacay with hubs' family.  I've got several fics on my TBR, but when I'm on the beach I like to read an actual book.  The last book I read was Bob Harper's Skinny Rules and although informative, it wasn't exactly a beach read!  I want a book I can't put down - it doesn't have to be a literary masterpiece - just a story I can get totally lost in.

I'd love a paperback and have always meant to read Bossy Pants by Tina Fey?  Or, I might splurge & buy a hardback if it is a really good story.  I keep hearing about Gone Girl?  What would you rec as a great beach read?

My rec, which is the perfect fic to read right now --

Dead Bella!

Saturday August 4, 2012 at 3:11 PM

Hi there,

Dose any one know a story where Bella is dying from illness or dies in the middle of the story for any reason?

I want something that include the pain of her loss coming from her partner and beloved ones, something like that ..

I don't mind Bella/Edward, or Jacob, or Jasper.

AH or AU .. anything!

Thank you so much.

How to succeed in business?

Saturday August 4, 2012 at 1:31 PM

Ohoy lovely Campers!

For a while I've been playing with the idea that starting my own business really is the way to go for me - and now I'm going to go for it! (YAY me!). For starters it'll just be small, online and freelance while I study/work/do-what-I-normally-do but one has to start somewhere.

The area will be intercultural communication, translation, written communication - that sort of thing.

I obviously have a lot of stuff to do now, make a businnes plan etc but I'm super excited :-D

But, before I can even get to that I need an awesome name for my "company" and this is where I need the expertise of the forrest.

I really wanted it to call it Wanderlust (English/German for strong desire/impulse to wander/explore new places), because that really fits me perfectly as a person - and I also like the fact that the word is multi-lingual. Unfortunately someone else has snatced that right up and there is another one-woman-businnes in communication who has that name. Go figure.

So, Campers - any good ideas? I like the idea of having a word that isn't a name (I'm not calling it Julie Communication or something like that), and I also like the idea that the word has meaning in different languages. Being a very internationally minded person, that especially appeals to me. I'm Danish of nationality, but I don't want to call it something in Danish, especially because I don't see myself staying in DK for the rest of my life. I like the idea of it having something in a different language (but not too exotic), something in Greek or Latin would also work.

I considered briefly calling it Wanderlust Communication, but I'm not really a big fan of adding the word "communication" to it, mainly because it really fixes the business in one direction only. I like the flexibility to expand it in whatever direction I may feel like, and if I ever get it up and running properly I would like also to focus more on the intercultural aspect in general.

Any awesome names popping up? Ideas, suggestions of all kinds are incredibly welcome here.

Wanted know more about this...

Saturday August 4, 2012 at 1:19 PM

So it seems Rob isn't hiding but actually perhaps making career moves already? I never heard about Scorcese, though I've heard that he's doing another one with Cronenberg. If he is in fact doing a movie with Scorcese, then good for him. Does anyone know anything about it, or am I the only one living in a cave?

Also, there's this blind item doing rounds now. I do not like the sound of it, but oh well...

We tend to be reluctant to drop blind items, but what has just landed in our inbox leaves us totally perplexed. We’re not even sure it is a blind item – maybe a fairytale gone awry. But news just came in that someone is willing to forgive and forget. Tut, tut, tut…once a cheater, always a cheater. Excuses, excuses….

What do you guys think? If this turns out to be true, then perhaps I'll rethink my previous thoughts on this whole issue. Sometimes I think it's too dramatic to be true, knwim? I don't know what is going on anymore...lol

BTW, the people over ONTD are beginning to like Rob more and more as this drama goes on. Some of the posts I read mentioned that some women are even finding him attractive now, when they are previously either neutral or negative toward him. I find it highly amusing.

Weird, freaky dreams

Saturday August 4, 2012 at 11:09 AM

So, I don't remember if we've ever had a CF dedicated to weird dreams people have, but I'm making this one, anyway. I tweeted about this when I woke up, so some of you may have already read what I dreamed about.

Anyway, my dream will be in the comments.

To make this interactive: tell me about one dream that YOU think was weird. Do you remember it? If you do, what was it about? If you're one of those that doesn't remember your dreams, then come in and discuss dream interpretations and whether you believe them or not, or if they're spot-on.

I never went into too many details on Twitter, but I'll try to remember as much as I can for the comments.

Day Three — Childhood Memories

I had a plan for today.
I was going to visit all the places I frequented as a child, here in
El Sobrante, California, and reminisce about the good old days.
Sometimes it's best to leave your memories where they are,
lest they become heartaches.
