So, found out through twitter that Gondolier has P2P HL5.
Yes, she's amazingly talented. Yes, HL5 is an amazingly well written and gripping story. But at the end of the day, I'm disappointed that she has gone this route. She is talented enough to write something wholly original that I am sure people would buy, especially those who have read and loved HL5 (like me). But taking the Icy/SR path and deciding to pull a fanfiction.....doesn't matter how much she "de-fanfictionizes" her story, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I honestly never saw this one coming. Don't get me wrong.....of all the fanfics this one probably DESERVES to be a book, and the writing is phenomenal, but at the end of the day I think P2P is not the way.
Raises more questions. With SR getting his 7-figure deal, the popularity of Fifty Shades of Pay and now HL5 being P2P (being made into two books, with a 3rd book being promised, which is basically an extension of the last two chapters in Colorado), do you think SM will finally shut down the fandom after BD2 is released?
My recommendation:
I remain, Yours http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7928270/1/I_remain_Yours
Bella is unexpectedly given an antique desk that once belonged to Edward, and in it she finds a letter he wrote to his cousin in 1918. She responds and sets them off on a journey neither could ever have expected. Perhaps there are some things we aren't meant to understand, just accept... Will eventually contain character death - NOT Edward or Bella.
