Wednesday October 1, 2014 at 8:06 AM

Welcome to our biweekly Healthy Lifestyle CF!

Leaves are changing. (In theory) Tempuratures are falling. And I'm sure water is falling from the sky somewhere (just not in Cali).

With these changes means all the scary, food-oriented holidays coming up. For Jews, it started last week with Rosh Hashana. For everyone else, Holloween is upon us, and candy is on sale everywhere.

Come tell us your tips on surviving the holidays.

And lastly, update us on what's going on with you.

New Twilight Movies??

Tuesday September 30, 2014 at 7:09 PM

It seems to be true. Five new short Twilight movies are going to be released via Facebook some time in the future.

Liosngate is reviving its powerful “Twilight” franchise by selecting five female directors to make short films based on the series’ characters.

The short films, financed by Lionsgate and its production partners, will be shown exclusively on Facebook next year.

The series will be called “The Storytellers — New Creative Voices of ‘The Twilight Saga.’” It’s backed by the Women in Film organization. The five directors will be selected and mentored by a group of judges that includes “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart and book author Stephenie Meyer. Fans will help select the grand prize winner through Facebook and crowdsourcing platform Tongal.

“The female voice is something that has become more and more important to me as I’ve worked in the film industry,” said Meyer. “I’m honored to be working with Women In Film, Lionsgate, and Facebook on a project dedicated to giving more women a chance to be heard creatively.”

And because I love to speculate...could this mean Meyer is gearing up to release Midnight Sun??? Will she get us fuzzy and happy via free short films? I'll admit—I would be the first in line to buy a copy, even after all this time.

Any of you up for film directing? Would you buy Midnight Sun? Are you, like me, utterly shocked that Kristen is getting near the Twi madness again?

Better The Devil You Know by natalayx
Edward Masen was an enigma, and Isabella Swan was making it her mission to get under his skin to unravel the mystery of who he really was.

O/S Continuation.  There is a lot of mystery here.  Prologue opens a bunch of questions.  My biggest of which is: Is Edward a supernatural being or not?  I can't wait to find out!!

Faith by lyricalgirl0521

Sometimes you just have to have faith. Faith in friends, family, love, but most of all, yourself. A fluffy Edward and Bella story.

Fluffy Romance.  A lonely bank manager Bella meets a moving home music teacher Edward.  Some religious tones to start, but the writer promises that it is not a central point in the story, just background info.  Looking forward to more.

FLASH BACK FIC DIVE:

The Letter by changedbyEdward

Bella Swan, professor of English Lit in Seattle, hears the velvety voice of rapper Edward Cullen one day and it changes her life. What happens after she writes her fan letter to him is fate personified. AH Canon pairings M for language, alcohol, etc.

In a whirlwind, Bella willingly gets sucked in to the life of rap star Edward "EC Velvet" Cullen and all the drama that comes with it.

Détruit by Somah
"It's all real. They did this, but I'm still here, always, Bella. Find me." Those cryptic words, whispered in a last breath, continue to haunt Bella Swan five years after the supposed death of her love, Edward Masen. AH

Bella has a complete breakdown after her high school boyfriend "dies" in an accident.  She's never really gotten over his death.  Edward watches her from afar until his old and new lives collide.

Thanks for all of the love and support for this campfire!  You Campers are the best!

Where were you...

Saturday September 27, 2014 at 12:36 PM

Sorry, not so light a subject this time.

They say that everybody remembers where they were and what they were doing when they heard that John F. Kennedy had been assassinated.

Tomorrow - more precisely around 2 am next night - it will be 20 years since M/S Estonia sank. Of the 989 on board, only 138 were rescued alive, one of them died later.

I remember where I was when I first heard it on the radio, putting on make-up in the morning to get ready to go to work. The first feeling was unbelief - this could not have happened. Everybody takes those cruise ferries to Sweden and back, nowadays also to Estonia and back, everybody knew what the vessels were like, everybody knew what kind of an atmosphere there would have been onboard during the evening before the disaster - jolly.

I also remember where I was when I first heard about the WTC attack - at work, discussing with a colleague, when the department secretary came in and said that somebody had flown an aeroplane right into a building in New York. There were no more details as yet, and I somehow thought it was a small plane and it was an accident. Trying to get some more information it was obvious that it was a huge thing - all the regular news sites that I used collapsed. Slowly they changed their frontpages into text only, and very few links, trying to cope with the traffic overload.

And one more, I remember where I was when I heard that Olof Palme had been murdered in February 1986. It was a sunny, cold Saturday morning, opened the radio and heard that there were flags half-mast and a minute of silence in a skiing event in Norway, but I didn't know yet why.

***

What kind of world events have left that kind of a memory of time slowing down and noticing little insignificant details that you can clearly recall even decades later? Like the brain does not compute the actual happening but concentrates on secondary things.

Football

Saturday September 27, 2014 at 5:55 AM

Happy Football weekend.

Who are you cheering for and against? Who are you looking forward to watching? What's your football weekend look like? How's your fantasy team doing? All of that stuff.

My boys are mercifully on a bye week so I get to watch games with no stress today. Since they're off, no nods at my boys but I'll give a nod at my littlest boy who's "helping" me make the bed in this pic.

My men have Tampa Bay tomorrow. Here's a nod at one of my favorite players and the guy who has single-handedly handedly helped my fantasy team win last week (thank you Antonio Brown).
