I was curious to the levels of higher education we have here at the Forest.
Did you go to college?  Get a degree? Some college but didn't finish?  Trade school?  Lucky you made it out of high school? College just didn't appeal to you?  Jumped right into the work force?  Got so smart, just livin' life?

Good morning (ast least on the East Coast of America),

I took advantage of some good Memorial Day sales this weekend and purchased myself a MacBook Air (old laptop stopped working last week).

I've been an iPhone and iPad user for many years and a lot of the features are the same, however A LOT is different on a Mac versus a PC and I'm struggling a bit to get used to it!

I am hoping that there are some Mac users in the Forest who could answer a couple questions for me and give some opinions!

1) Do I need to purchase an antivirus software? I got mixed answers on this from the Best Buy salespeople and when I researched online. I'm not opposed to getting one especially because I use my laptop for balancing my checkbook, paying bills, online shopping, etc. If you have a Mac and have purchased antivirus, what brand do you recommend? Any to stay away from?

2) What sort of secret tricks does the MacBook have? I've figured out a couple of things with the trackpad (zooming, scrolling, right click options) and it took me awhile to figure out how to minimize and maximize new windows!

3) What does the little black dot under the apps mean? I cannot figure that one out!

4) Is there anything I NEED TO KNOW as a new Mac user?

Higher Powers were looking out for me when they didn't schedule the new episode this weekend.

I have to much family in town to watch Black Jack hurt my precious Jamie...

I've been reading Voyager all day and OH MY GOD at the reunion chapter! Cried like a baby.

3 years ago today, a beautiful little girl turned 7. She also had Cerebral Palsy and died. (I should have made it more clear when I posted this but she was my best friends daughter not mine. Sorry for any confusion.)

Since this is the memorial day weekend in the USA, a lot of people remember those who fought for our country, and I couldn't be more proud to say that I've been related to or known some of those people.

BUT, I also am proud to have known any person who has passed on, and I like to remember them as well on this weekend. My grandma, my great grandma, Brianna and some others.

So in the spirit of that, I'd like to invite ANY AND ALL of you no matter where you are, to tell me who you remember - veteran or not, this weekend. I know today, if there is a heaven, Brianna is having a birthday party. :)
