2 NEW MTV SHOWS TAKE TWILIGHTERS BEHIND THE SCENES

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 3:18 PM

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "New Moon"

FROM MTV.COM:

Ever since they first read Stephenie Meyer's novel, Twilighters all over the world have been counting down the days until next week's release of the "New Moon" movie. Now, MTV is joining the party with our very own prime-time specials welcoming the newest film in the "Twilight" franchise to the big screen.

On Monday, November 16, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will air "Love Bites," an exclusive half-hour special examining the lives, love and literature fueling Hollywood's current obsession with "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Utilizing new interviews, never-before-seen footage and the vast library we've accumulated over the last few years of being the fans' top "Twilight" news resource, we'll show you the couple affectionately known as "RPattz" and "KStew" like you've never seen them before.

In case that isn't enough of an Edward and Bella blowout, we'll be following that show with "New Moon Revealed" at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by our own Twi-Hard reporter Kim Stolz, the show will explore the "Twilight" phenomenon while answering the fans' most burning questions from the serious to the sublime to the just plain silly.

"Love Bites" will get up close and personal, chronicling the relationship between Pattinson and Stewart from its early stages through their present-day reign as purveyors of Hollywood's top romance. MTV will dig into the archives to give viewers a peek at their first, very intimate audition on director Catherine Hardwicke's bed, as well as the early interview on the "Twilight" set where the duo spoke candidly about building their chemistry. Hitting the streets of Vancouver and Portland, where the films were shot, viewers will find out what goes on when the cast has downtime and what local bars, restaurants and locations they frequent — as well as hear from the people who see them when they are off camera.

In "New Moon Revealed," MTV News will provide fans with unrivaled access to the "Twilight Saga," courtesy of a 30-minute special anchored from "New Moon" mall events in Los Angeles and Chicago. The show will prominently feature die-hard fans of the series as they clamor to get a glimpse of the actors they've worshipped from afar. In the show, MTV News will count down the five hottest, most burning questions fans of the "Twilight" series want answered — from exploring how stardom has changed Robert Pattinson, to finding out whether Kristen Stewart is on Team Edward or Team Jacob, to telling the behind-the-scenes tale of how Taylor Lautner almost lost the role of Jacob.

As always, MTV News is all over "Twilight." And on November 16, "Revealed" and "Love Bites" will give vampire lovers something extra special to sink their teeth into.

Pregnancy Fics

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 3:13 PM

I was thinking about comments made on a recent campfire and it got me thinking.

I am curious as to the growing aversion of pregnancy fics.

Is it because they are unrealistic or not completely thought out?

Is it due to the particular way it's handled?

Kake and I are coauthoring one that's based on a real event and revolves around the realistic options when facing an unplanned pregnancy. (In this particular story we chose to go the route of adoption.)

At times it's angst on steriods but  comedy is interwoven within it so you don't sink to far.

It's not the 'trauma drama'  that is dominant in so many fics these days.  And it's lite on the lemons.  They are there but in appropriate context.

We are writing from a take that as far as we know, hasn't been done before.  And we're not planning on dragging the thing out for wordage.

(And as a side note: anything I've written is far off track from the norm anyway, except for a one shot I did on Sam/Leah that was inspired by a song from my friends band.....)

(Kake's stories walk the less trodden path as well.)

I just caught Kake on messenger and she is curious too.  If anything our reviews state that it's an incredibly close to heart subject that we are handling very well.

What say you all?

Catherine Hardwicke keeps talking about Robsten

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 3:01 PM

Need attention much Catherine? BOO

Edward wasn't that easy. "The bar is so high," Hardwicke says. "Every two pages there's a comment about how gorgeous he is ... I met all of these guys I felt were quite good, but they didn't have that special other quality that they were alive for 105 years." She took Robert Pattinson and three other actors to her house in Venice, Calif., to run lines with Kristen.

They played the biology-class scene in the dining room. They moved the cars out of the garage and did the "How long have you been 17?" scene there. Then they did the kissing scene on Hardwicke's bed. "I played it like a guy who is beating himself up a lot about everything," Pattinson says. "I don't think anyone else did it like that. I guess I tried to ignore every aspect of the confident hero of the story." It worked. Stewart and Hardwicke were sold.

Selling Pattinson to Summit was tougher. He wasn't a star--his biggest role was Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire--and he didn't look like a star. "He was disheveled," Hardwicke says. "He was a different weight. His hair was different and dyed black [he had just played Salvador Dalí in Little Ashes]. He was all sloppy. The studio head said, 'You want to cast this guy as Edward Cullen?' I said yeah. And he said, 'Do you think you can make him look good?' I said yes, I do."

By all accounts, the chemistry between the two leads was intense, maybe too intense. "After I cast him, I told Rob, Don't even think about having a romance with her," Hardwicke says. "She's under 18. You will be arrested." It was the beginning of the real-life are-they-aren't-they, did-they-didn't-they speculation that is now an ongoing subplot of the Twilight story. "I didn't have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say," Hardwicke says. "But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person."

Robert sends a sweet wedding gift to couple

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 2:58 PM

"When my cousin Brian got married this past June, he and his fiance Leah decided they would invite a few "dream" guests. They sent invitations to Barack Obama, Albert Pujols (go Cardinals!), and, of course, the most-dreamy of them all Robert Pattinson. Not surprisingly, none of these guests could attend.

Albert Pujols ignored the invitation. The White House sent a sweet, but standard, card of congratulations.

And Robert? He took it to the next level by sending a signed and delicious photo of himself congratulating the couple by name. I think this is the sweetest thing I've ever heard!"

FUTURE AFTER TWILIGHT?

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 1:39 PM

Hello everybody! This has been something thats been festering in my mind for some time and I HAVE to get it off my chest before I go insane.

Ok so right now we are all in the middle of this Twilight phenomenom. We encourage it, we write about it, we fangirl all over Rob - you get the picture. What I am wondering is...what happens after Twilight dies down? And Im not talking about what happens to us. Im talking about the Twilight Saga actors. Is there any actors that you see that will make it big? Do you seem them drop off the planet? What are your theories regarding the people that have brought this series to life?

HERE ARE MINE:

I think Kristen Stewart, Peter Facinelli, and Dakota Fanning will move on to good things. They've already been in the Hollywood circuit for some time and I think after the Twilight movies are over, they will continue to have credible work. Taylor Lautner will more than likely remain where he is as a teen hearthrob because whether people want to admit it or not, he has the teen sexiness thing going on, he just needs to own it. Our beautiful and scruffy and awkward Robert Pattinson will be just fine IMO. I know I am in the majority when I say that I cannot wait to see what else he does. I have high hopes for our sexy leading man. Very high. So high that I will probably follow everything he does even if it sucks. (I personally would like to see him play someone a crazy a la Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest – my reply to the previous post regarding RPattz movies) Lastly, I think Ashley Greene and Anna Kendrick will also do well after the series.

But what about everyone else?

While there are a lot of actors that are cast, they are all small parts of a big movie. Even in the books, a lot of the characters just aren’t around. For instance, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser. Now as for the two ladies, well I don’t know because I don’t really pay attention to them. Kellan Lutz, however, is so hot. Hes mentioned that he wants to do action movies and I really want to believe that he’ll make it. But I see straight to dvd action films and more horror movies in his future. As far as actors from the wolf pack and the Volturi, well, I just don’t know. I know some are very good actors like Micheal Sheen but do you see the guy playing Felix or Sam make it big after trailing on the tails of this franchise? All I see is a future where Twilight is no longer “it” and some actors from the film are trying to get a job, screaming at their agents “I WAS A CHARACTER ON THE TWILIGHT SAGA DAMMIT!” but that just brings up a whole other topic.

So tell me campers, do you think our beloved cast will have a post Twilight future? Or do you see them appearing on a bad reality show on VH1 ten years from now?

I hope I don’t sound like a cynical bitch or anything but I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions, disagreements – anything!

(Im sorry this is so long)

Lettuce discuss!

OH YEAH…ROB PORN:

EDIT: HERE IS SOME LEGIT ROBPORN!

Other movies for Robert Pattinson

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 12:27 PM

So, hey, this question's been bothering me all day:

What kind of movie would you like Robert Pattinson to do?

And what kind of movie would you NEVER like Robert Pattinson to do?

For me, I would like to see him in a movie with Johnny Depp, where they both played some weird, loveable guys, maybe a little psychotic or something, childhood traumas. Although I wouldn't watch it if it were a Tim Burton, Heaven forbid. But I would like those two together, because they seem very different from other attention-seeking actors, seeming laid-back and relaxed.

And I pray that Robert Pattinson would never play gay. Not that I have anything against playing gay, but when I see a man kiss another man, I cannot watch him in other movies without picturing that.

Shameless pimpage! ^^

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 11:34 AM

I wrote a story called Hell and I'm shamelessy pimping myself out here! ^^ I hope I'm allowed!

The summary: Bella is filthy rich, she's a bitch and most importantly she despises you. She snorts coke, she parties all the time and she's jaded. She doesn't believe in love until she meets Edward who is just as rich and disillusioned as she is. AH. ExB. Rated M.

The warnings: it deals with sex, drugs, alcohol and abortion. So don't read if any of those things offend you!

The link : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5506379/1/Hell

I would love to have your opinion! I've posted the first 2 chapters!

Spoiled readers...anyone?

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 10:53 AM

So, the other post got me thinking about another topic. Some authors tend to let all the reviews go to their head and begin to act a little…spoiled. I was just thinking of the other side of the spectrum, spoiled readers. I admit I’m one of them.

When I initially started reading fan fiction I was thoroughly impressed with the idea. The fact that the authors were mothers, lawyers, students, people who aren’t professional writers was new and interesting for me. I enjoyed noticing how much the authors’ writing would improve and would overlook certain mistakes or annoyances.

Somehow over time, my perspective has changed. Initially, knowing that these stories were written by people learning to write or just having fun (plus free) I went into the story with no expectations. Now if the story doesn’t meet a certain criteria I can’t read it! Do any of you feel this way? Is it because I’ve been reading fan fiction for a while now? Or have the truly talented writers out there spoiled me for other writers? Rob wants you to discuss...

And just cause...

Enough Already!

Thursday November 12, 2009 at 8:04 AM

I know, I know, I really should stop. But I swear I'm not whining, I'm just curious. Are there any fics that you feel have just gone on too long? Which stories have passed their expiration date? You don't have to name names, but I'm just curious at what point do you say enough is enough?

I will say that I don't like roller coasters. The end is in sight, but something else threatens the HEA out of nowhere. We get past that hurdle, and BAM we are hit with more trouble. We are 40 chapters in and this thing could've been wrapped up 25 chapters ago but it just keeps going.

That's my 2 cents, now let me hear what you think.
