I'm in a mood. I admit this. I wanna do something besides sit and play Gin at the table with my dad.

I have a tattoo on my back that's a quote by Van Gogh. "I put my heart and soul into my work, and lost my mind in the process." I'm guessing you can figure out why I like that one. :)

I got no dogs in the fight this weekend, my boys limped to a 6 point loss on Thursday night and my men are on a bye week. So I'm free to cheer and jeer everyone else's teams and foes. Tell me who you're cheering for and against this weekend.

Also, my teams aren't doing so great tis year so I'm cheering the little things.

Like our mascot from two years ago, handsome guy under all that beard.

And our uniforms will never be as bad as this:

And my Coach's hair, because you can tell how good or bad we're doing by how much it's sticking up.

Also, my fantasy team is 10-1.

Good Morning, Campers!

NaNo is messing me up for the Bondfires--I apologize.  I was good and was writing at a cafe yesterday with no WiFi and I'm not quite sure how to start a CF from my phone.

So I was listening to NPR earlier this week and they were having a conversation with one of the guests who has dreadlocks and how he is always judged on them.  However, he did make a point that he is already established in his career and life and waited to get them.

When asked, he also said that he wouldn't let his son get dreadlocks until later in life because he doesn't want his son solely judged by appearance.

So, it got me to thinking, how are you initially judged.  Do you think you're seen differently here at ADF or IRL than you actually are?

Come set us straight to see the real you, no judgement.

My other thought when the interviewe was talking:  I have no idea whether this person is black or white or Asian etc.  Do you judge people who have dreads differently based on ethnicity?

And, no matter his ethnicity, if he didn't want his son judged on his dreads, he would still be judged on his looks, right?

All I kept thinking about was that the interviewee could cut off his dreads and not be judged as much on his looks.  But I'm Asian and short, there's no getting around that.  I'm pre-judged all the time.  And maybe that's not fair because no matter his ethnicity, he is prejudged too.

2) How have you been misjudged based on your outward appearance?  Have you made mistakes regarding 'first impressions' much like Elizabeth and Darcy in P&P (which many of you may already know was orignally titled First Impressions).

4) Again since it's the giving season and we all like charities, tell us a few charities that are close to your heart.  Some of us may have extra money that we'd like to donate to a good cause!
