ADFers! You're my only hope! (haha. i'm dumb)

anyways, i honestly DO need some assistance. I have a friend that volunteers at the local library a lot and the event coordinator is always trying to keep things interesting and attract the young and the old. So she's having an event all about FANFICTION, which my friend has been invited to give the main presentation for. 

She is an old school HP fandomer and she's dabbled in other fandoms so she wants to make sure she covers all her bases. Which is where you guys come in. We need input. (and this is an ALL AGES event so keep that in mind)

Obviously the biggest fandoms in recent years have been HP, Twilight, HG, and SuperWhoLock, so shes going to be sure to mention them but what should she cover? What terms? Are there stricking differences between fandoms?

The other day I tagged her in a post on tumblr about the word squick and what it meant in the fandom world. What should she talk about to possibly bring in and inform new writers, or give older writers good memories.

Post all your none twilight fanfic and crossovers in here!

I'm 99% sure this is legal because it has to do with Twilight and FF, but I always feel nervous when I post a new CF. I could put it in the daily chew tomorrow, but I'm really hoping it'll get more traffic this way. 


I just posted my first foray into fanfic but it looks so funny to me when I try to read it on the website. I feel silly for being so lost, but the way it's formatted is confusing the bejeesus out of me. Everything looks tiny and close together and the paragraphs don't look like paragraphs because everything is flush left. It might just be that I'm not used to seeing it look like that because I type it in Google Docs and the format is so different, but I don't think I've ever noticed it looking odd on ff that I've read. 

Did anyone else have this problem, or am I just crazy? Would it be better to type it directly into the ff doc manager, rather than trying to upload or copy/paste? Is there some easy tip that I'm just missing? 

Comics, anime, dear a by like questions, I'll discuss them all.  And for the record, my favorite vampire of all time doesn't come from the norm, he's an anime that goes by the name D. Any other D lovers here?

I'm on my phone so this will look small but do we have a TV campfire going? If not I'm going to start one where you can regularly talk about Your fav shows. I'm trying to get more people involved. I know it is hard to talk and participate and meet new people and I also know we need more traffic on this site, I have a lot of time on my hands when I'm not doing homework. So does anyone have any objections? Or thoughts on this in general?
