I am hoping that someone has enough computer program and/or document conversion smarts to help me out.

I was given a book that my late brother wrote wrote in the 60's and 70's.  It is 336 typewritten pages!  My sister-in-law has given me publishing rights on it and my husband and I feel it is worth working on.

What I would like to do is scan it into a pdf format and edit it ibn word as there are several spelling and grammerical errors in it. 

What I need is a suggestion of a fairly inexpensive software that will turn it into an editable word document.  I understand that I need a software that is a pdf OCR but there are several out there!  I am hoping that someone out there in the camper world has worked with one before that they can suggest.

Also, if anyone has experience with the Neat Scanners I would appreciate your feedback on those.  I have a scanner but it works fairly slowly so I am looking for something else that is faster.

Thanks to everyone who runs this website, works on posting the different campfires and the campers who post and comment!  This place is one of my go to places when I need to decompress or have a laugh!

...But do anyone else get really turned off when fanfics throw in random canon-references especially when they could have easily substituted it with something else? I mean this as in having a bar/newspaper/whatever being named as Breaking Dawn or Eclipse or any variation of the book names, or having the characters go on a date and watching "that vampire movie that's all the rage right now". One fanfic had even mentioned Stephanie Meyer and E.L. James and 50Shades, and this fanfic that I just flounced right now (which is a shame actually because it was pretty lovely in writing and the plot sounds good) later on introduced Bella as a secret Twilight fanfic writer and in one scene she was drooling over pictures of Rob on the internet. 

I mean I'm not trying to step on toes here if anyone here likes this, but I'm just curious about other people's opinion because this appears to be a frequent thing nowadays and I'm just wondering, why? I used to be more tolerant of little pet-peeves like this in the past but now it's gotten to the point where I would immediately stop reading if I start to see this pattern forming. For me, at least, it is an abrupt reminder that I'm currently reading a Twilight fanfiction and it really brings me out of the moment for a few seconds. It's even worse when the characters themselves start discussing over the characters/plot of that "vampire series"....as if we all don't know which series it is that they're talking about. 

anyways, I also want to share four fanfics that I've recently read that I really enjoyed. I was going to wait for the fic-diving campfire but I'm too impatient lolol also I'm not sure if they've been mentioned here before.... In the 2nd one, Bella can see ghosts, and in the 3rd one (written by the same author as Seducing Ms. Swan but, for some reason, this fic is lesser well-known), Bella can see people's dreams. The last fanfic comes with a trigger warning. Best, of all, all four fics are completed. Enjoy, and happy holidays everyone!

So I didn't post yesterday's usual campfire since it was Christmas, but for movies today I thought we might as well do another in theaters campfire.

So what's in theaters right now that you have seen, that you wanna see? I watched Mockingjay with my family on Thanksgiving, and saw the last Hobbit on Monday night.
